The anti-ragging guidelines stated that colleges/centres/hostels have been requested to restrict the entry of outsiders and to prominently display rules regarding the prohibition of ragging in their respective institutions.

With an aim to avoid ragging, Delhi University has released the guidelines. Delhi University began the first-year undergraduate classes from today; i.e. November 22. The Delhi University has directed all the affiliated colleges to place sealed complaint boxes in front of the principal's office and constitution of vigilance squads.

Colleges affiliated with DU will also be holding orientation days for the new students to acquaint them with their respective colleges and departments. Departments will also be conducting separate orientation courses for the freshers. For now, the classes will be conducted in online mode along with the orientation programmes. The Anti-Ragging Posters in English and Hindi have been installed at the strategic locations in the North and South Campuses of DU.

The anti-ragging guidelines stated that colleges/centres/hostels have been requested to restrict the entry of outsiders and to prominently display rules regarding the prohibition of ragging in their respective institutions. All Colleges/Faculties/Departments/Hostels have been requested to form Anti-ragging/ Disciplinary Committee & Vigilance Squad taking the help of NCC/NSS students volunteers wherever possible to monitor ragging.

"Placing of police pickets outside every college with special assistance being provided to women colleges. Any acts of indiscipline, ragging will be dealt with strictly under the University’s Statutes, Ordinances, which give legal authority to Principals/Heads/Directors/ Provosts/Wardens to take preventive as well as punitive action, wherever required. Police assistance will be sought whenever the situation warrants direct intervention by them," the guidelines stated.

Along with the guidelines, the University has also released the ragging complaint mechanism. The notification also stated that if anyone is found flouting the anti-ragging guidelines, a suspension or expulsion or cancellation of degree, penal action will be taken immediately.
