IIT Madras will conduct the JEE Advanced 2024 exam today. The paper 1 will start at 9 am and the paper 2 will start at 2:30 pm. To be eligible for IIT admission candidates have to appear in both papers. Check the exam day checklist here.

The JEE Advanced 2024 exam will start in a few hours. IIT Madras will be holding the computer-based JEE Advanced exam today, May 26 at 229 cities in India and 3 cities outside India. Candidates have to report to the examination centre at 7 am. After entry to the examination centre, identity verification, frisking and biometric capturing will be done before the commencement of both Paper 1 and Paper 2. After completing this process, candidates will be required to take their assigned seat in the examination hall by 08:30 am for Paper 1 and by 2:00 pm for Paper 2.

Check List for Exam Day

  1. Documents that MUST be brought to the examination centre: Printout of JEE Advanced 2024 admit card and at least one ORIGINAL photo identity card (Aadhaar, School ID, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, PAN Card).
  2. Candidates should carry their pen/pencil; it will NOT be given at the examination centre. Also, candidates are allowed to bring sanitiser in a small transparent bottle.
  3. Candidates can also carry drinking water in a transparent bottle. 
  4. Under no circumstances carry any of these of the exam centre: Smart/digital/programmable watches, analogue watches, timepieces, mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, earphones, microphones, pagers, health bands, smart glasses or any other electronic gadgets, any printed/blank/handwritten paper, log tables, writing pads, scales, geometry/pencil-boxes, pouches, calculators, pen drives, electronic pens, wallets, handbags, goggles or similar items are NOT allowed inside the examination centre.
  5. Do not wear charm/tabeez, items containing metals such as rings, bracelets, earrings, nose pins, chains/necklaces, pendants, badges, brooches, hair pins, hair bands, and clothes with big buttons. Candidates are advised to wear open footwear like chappals and sandals.

Entry at Exam Hall

Lab/Hall/Room numbers will not be displayed outside the JEE Advanced exam centre to avoid any crowding at any one place in any situation. Instead, this detail will be informed to the candidates when the barcode on the JEE Advanced admit card is scanned.

All candidates will be subjected to extensive and compulsory frisking before entering the JEE Advanced test centre. Test Centre staff will guide the candidate to the respective Lab/Hall/Room after scanning the barcode on the JEE Advanced admit card. Candidates are required to strictly adhere to instructions provided by the Test Centre staff.

Inside the Exam Hall

A scribble pad will be kept at each candidateโ€™s desk at the beginning of each paper for use by

the candidate for rough work. No additional scribble pad will be provided to the candidate. Candidates must sign the scribble pad after entering their name and JEE Advanced 2024 Roll Number in the space provided.

Also, the candidate must mark her/his attendance in each of the papers by signing beside their name in the space provided on the Roll List.

Candidates will be allowed to leave the exam hall only after the exam is over. After paper 1 ends at 12 noon, candidates can come out for a break and again enter the exam hall for paper 2 before 2:00 pm.
