What is AIIMS PG 2020 Exam?

AIIMS PG is conducted by AIIMS (All India Institute for Medical Sciences) for admission to MD, MS, DM, M.Ch, MDS. The exam is organised twice a year for filling seats in PG courses in AIIMS, located at New Delhi, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur and Rishikesh. AIIMS PG entrance examination is conducted in an online mode and follows a negative marking system.

Eligibility Criteria/ Qualification for AIIMS PG 2020

All the candidates who wish to apply for the PG entrance test are advised to read the AIIMS PG eligibility criteria carefully. The requirements that a candidate must fulfil to be eligible for AIIMS PG are summarised in the table below:

  • Age limit: There is no age limit for the candidates who wish to apply for AIIMS PG 2020
  • Number of attempts: There is no cap on the number of attempts permitted
  • Nationality: A candidate who wishes to apply for the AIIMS PG exam can be an Indian National/OCI/ NRI/foreign national
  • Minimum qualification: He/she must possess an MBBS/ BDS degree from a recognised institute 
  • Minimum marks in the qualifying examination: General/OBC/general PWD category candidates must secure at least 55% in the qualifying examination. However, candidates who belong to SC/ST/SC PWD/ST PWD category need a minimum of 50% in their qualifying examination to apply for AIIMS PG 2020.

AIIMS PG Admission Process

The first stage of admission is AIIMS PG application form. The application form for the postgraduate entrance test needs to be filled online using the PAAR facility. The entire application process for AIIMS PG or PAAR process can be divided into several steps. The important steps have been enlisted below:

The next stage is downloading the AIIMS PG admit card. The hall ticket or admit card of AIIMS PG was available online and candidates had to use the PAAR portal to download it. Next, the candidates had to appear for a computer-based entrance test which was meant to judge their abilities and aptitude. 

AIIMS PG result was announced for all the candidates who appear for the entrance test. AIIMS PG 2020 result was announced in an online mode. Candidates who have qualified the examination can download their scorecards by logging into their registered accounts on the official website of aiimsexams.org. 

Next step is attending the AIIMS PG counselling. The entire process of counselling is online including the submission of documents.

Exam Day Guidelines for AIIMS PG 2020

  • It is mandatory for all test-takers to carry a valid photo identity proof with them on the day of the examination
  • Do not carry any electronics such as calculators, mobile phones, smartwatch, etc. on the day of the examination
  • AIIMS PG exam centres will not have provisions to keep bags or other valuables
  • Eatables/ beverages/ water bottles are not allowed inside the examination hall
  • Reach the examination hall at least an hour prior to the examination
