The faculty members and students interested in joining the programme can send their applications along with their updated CVs by February 10, 2024.

AMU: STEM-ER Centre invites applications for advisor and studentship

The Indo-US APJ Abdul Kalam STEM Education and Research Center (of AMU and Ohio State University, USA), Aligarh Muslim University has invited applications from the final year B.Sc. (V Semester) and B.Tech. (V Semester) students of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), for the 3rd Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) programme, 2024.

The centre has also invited applications from faculty members of AMU to join the project as Advisors to supervise the inducted students during the 6 month research project, starting from March 1, 2024, to be conducted at the research facilities of the advisors and ending with an undergraduate dissertation and a public presentation at the APJ Abdul Kalam STEM-ER centre.

The faculty members and students interested in joining the programme can send their applications along with their updated CVs through an email at: apjstemcemer@gmail.com by February 10, 2024. Their names will be posted at the websites of STEM-ER center at both OSU and AMU.

Lecture organised at Adult Education Centre

The Centre of Continuing and Adult Education and Extension, Aligarh Muslim University organized a lecture on โ€œSocial Work and Personality Developmentโ€ for the learners by Prof. Naseem Ahmad Khan, Chairperson, Department of Social Work.

In his interactive talk, Prof Khan focused on the concept and value of Social Work, covering the aspects of participation, networking, collaboration, honesty, trust and integrity, equality, respect and dignity.

He stated that humans can be involved in working with individuals, groups, families, communities, organizations, NGOs and government departments. He stressed the importance of better communication and interpersonal skills for a beneficial relationship among individuals. He said that the personality of a man is the sum total of his physical, mental, emotional and social characteristics and it needs to be oriented with the growing age.

He urged to remain calm in all situations and tackle the situation with modesty to enjoy a a good personality. He reiterated Dr. Ambedkarโ€™s statement that โ€œManโ€™s life is independent. He is born not for the development of the society alone but for the development of himself.โ€
