SSC CGL 2022 Tier-I Last Month Preparation Strategy

SSC CGL 2022 exam dates were announced recently. The candidates must dedicate the last month to SSC CGL Tier-I preparation because it is the first stage and has the maximum number of candidates competing in the exam. Most of the candidates will be weeded out at the first stage only. So the candidates must prepare for this stage with an effective study plan to get success in the tier-I exam. Before moving to the last month’s strategy, the candidates must take a deep look at the SSC CGL syllabus.

SSC CGL 2021-22 Syllabus

SSC CGL syllabus only defines the topic name and does not define its expected difficulty level. The candidates must prepare all the topics in their entirety. It is the first step in preparation. Since one month is remaining for the exam, it is expected that the candidates have prepared all the topics.

Q:   When will the SSC CGL 2024 Exam Analysis be available?

A:

The Staff Selection Commission is expected to conduct the SSC CGL 2024 Tier 1 exam from September 9 to 26. The Commission released the SSC CGL 2024 exam dates on August 8, 2024. The candidates will get here the SSC CGL 2024 exam analysis after the first shift of the first day of exam that is on September 9.

The SSC CGL 2024 notification was released online on June 24, 2024. The last date to apply for the exam will be July 24, 2024.

Q:   Is there any negative marking in the SSC CGL exam?

A:
Yes, there is a negative marking of 0.50 marks in the SSC CGL tier-I exam. The SSC CGL Tier 2 also has a negative marking. The quantum of negative marking is one-fourth of the marks assigned for the correct answer. The mark assigned for the correct answer is 2 marks and the negative marking is 0.5 marks. No marks will be deducted for unattempted questions. The candidates should avoid the guesswork in the exam because the negative marking rapidly pulls the overall score down in case of incorrect answers.

Q:   What is the best way to practice SSC CGL exam pattern?

A:

The candidates should try to solve the previous year's question paper in the exam-like conditions in a time-bound manner. The real-time practice with the official question papers will give a clear understanding of the SSC CGL exam pattern. The Commission releases the SSC CGL question papers after the result and mentions the candidate's response and official answer key.

The candidates can also download here the SSC CGL previous year's question papers.

After completing the basic preparation of all the topics of all the sections, the candidates must move to practice and revision. For effective revision and practice, the candidates must prepare a study plan to divide the time.

SSC CGL 2021-22 Study Plan

Candidates should prepare a study plan incorporating the time for the topic understanding, practice, time-bound previous paper solution, and revision. The candidates should make the study plan based on their affinity for the topics. The candidates should assign more time to the topics that seem difficult to the candidate and less time to those topics which they find easy and require less practice.

SSC CGL 2021-22: How to practice?

The candidates must practice with the questions given in the standard textbooks and the practice papers freely available for the exam. The candidates can also practice with the readily available applications specifically meant for the SSC CGL exam.

Q:   Will there be any changes in the SSC CGL 2024 exam pattern?

A:

The SSC CGL 2024 exam pattern will be notified in the official notification. The Commission is expected to release the SSC CGL notification on June 11, 2024. The Commission is not expected to change the SSC CGL 2024 exam pattern in the official notification because the Commission has successfully followed the new exam pattern in the last two years and no complexities cropped up in the exam process.
So it is highly anticipated that the Commission will continue with the same SSC CGL exam pattern.

Q:   Who releases SSC CGL exam pattern?

A:

The conducting body of the exam, Staff Selection Commission (SSC) releases the SSC CGL pattern. The Commission notifies the SSC CGL exam pattern in the official notification. SSC CGL 2023 exam pattern was notified in the official notification which was released online on April 3 instead of April 1, 2023. The Commission released the SSC exam calendar 2023-24 mentioning all the important dates.

The Commissin conducted the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam from July 14 to 27 based on the official exam pattern as mentioned in the official noification.

Q:   How does negative marking affect the final score in SSC CGL exam?

A:

Negative marking in the SSC CGL exam impacts the final score by deducting 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Tier-I and varying marks in different sections of Tier-II. This deduction for incorrect answers can significantly reduce the overall score of candidates, emphasizing the importance of accuracy in responses. Understanding the negative marking scheme is crucial for candidates to strategize their attempts effectively, balancing the number of correct answers with the risk of losing marks for incorrect responses.

Therefore, candidates need to approach the exam cautiously, aiming for accuracy to minimize deductions and improve their final score in the SSC CGL exam

Q:   Can the Commission change the SSC CGL exam pattern?

A:

Yes, the Commission can change the SSC CGL exam pattern. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has the authority to revise and update the SSC CGL exam pattern as needed. Changes in the exam pattern are typically communicated through official notifications released by the Commission, outlining any modifications in the structure, sections, marking scheme, or other relevant aspects of the examination.

Q:   What is the Normalisation of Marks in SSC CGL Exam?

A:

Normalization of marks in the SSC CGL (Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level) examination is a process used to ensure fairness and equity in the assessment of candidates' performance across different shifts or sessions of the examination. The SSC CGL exam is conducted in multiple shifts or sessions, and sometimes there may be variations in the difficulty level of questions or other factors such as the number of candidates appearing in each session. Normalization helps in addressing these variations to determine a fair and standardized score for all candidates.

SSC CGL result is released based on the normalised marks only.

The candidates should do practice for each topic separately because no topics can be said as important. There is no weight-age provided to any topic in the official syllabus.

SSC CGL 2021-22 Time Management Tips

Time is a crucial factor in the SSC CGL preparation. The candidates must understand that only one hour will be available to see, read and solve all the questions. So here speed, time and accuracy become the important factors in the exam. SSC CGL's previous year's question papers can help the candidates here.

The candidates must solve the SSC CGL previous years’ question papers in a time-bound manner so that they can be accustomed to the time limit for the exam. The candidate should try to solve the questions in their mind without using pen and paper. If they do so, their chances of selection increase manifolds.

SSC CGL 2021-22 Revision Tips

Revision is the most overlooked aspect of the SSC CGL preparation. The candidates must practice with the previous year's question papers and check their answers. The candidates should give more time for revision where the candidates are taking more time to recall the basic formulae or concepts and where the answers are getting wrong while solving the previous years’ questions.

Accuracy

Accuracy plays a very important role in the exam. But accuracy comes with practice and revision. The candidate should learn the mathematics table till 50 or more. This will help in speeding up the calculations. For the English section, the candidate must learn the exceptions. The exceptions play an important role because, in the exam paper, exceptions are the fundamental part of the paper.

One hour of daily revision is essential in case all the aforesaid things are done simultaneously.

One around one month is left for the exam. Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will release the application status and CGL admit card 2022 fifteen days before the exam date. SSC CGL 2021-22 notification was released on December 23 and the number of vacancies was not mentioned by the commission.
