The Staff Selection Commission mentioned the names of the SSC CGL exam centres in the official notification. The candidates are required to select the SSC CGL exam centres from the list available in the SSC CGL online application form. The candidates are required to select three examination centres from the same region. The SSC CGL exam notification was released on June 24. The last date to apply online for the SSC CGL 2024 was July 27, 2024. The Commission will conduct the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam in September/October.

Every year, the Commission changes some of the exam centres and provides the opportunity to some other cities. The candidates need to read the official notification to get the detailed list of SSC CGL exam centres. The candidates should select their exam centre online based on their travelling time or other convenience. The Commission does not change the exam centre in any condition.

 

Q:   How Many SSC CGL exam centres are there?

A:

The Staff Selection Commission conduct the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam in the online mode at the designated exam centres. The Commission mention the exam cities in the official notification where the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam will be conducted. There are a good number of exam cities in each state and the Commission keep changing these centres depending on the number of candidates appeared in the exam in a centre. 

The Candidates will be required to opt for three exam centres in a region in the SSC CGL application form.

The candidates should note that the Southern Region has the highest number of exam centres across the nation. The Staff Selection Commission has assigned over 20 exam centres to the Southern region. The Commission assess the exam centres allotted to each region after the examination and the Commission can change the number of exam centre allotted to a specific region.

The number of candidates who appeared in the exam is the key criterion for assigning a state to the SSC CGL exam centre.
