Yes, the candidates need to appear for all the tiers of the SSC CGL to qualify the exam. It is essential to appear and clear all the tiers of the SSC CGL exam. The candidates must score marks equal to or more than the SSC CGL cutoff to clear the exam. There are only two tiers in the SSC CGL exam and the candidates are required to appear and clear both tiers separately as well as combined. SSC CGL Age Limit 2024

The SSC CGL age limit is defined in the official notification every year. The candidates should read the notification so that they can understand the age criteria required for the SSC CGL posts 2024. SSC prescribes 4 types of age limit for the SSC CGL posts. These four types of age limits are defined:

There are 19 posts in the SSC CGL exam where the age criteria limit is defined as 18 to 27 years. The details of such posts as provided in the official notification is given below:

Q:   What is the minimum passing marks for SSC CGL Tier 2 exam?

A:

The Staff Selection Commission can change the passing marks required for clearing the SSC CGL Tier 2. The minimum passing marks for the SSC CGL Tier 2 exam vary based on categories. For the UR category, the minimum qualifying marks are 30%, for OBC/EWS it is 25%, and for all other categories, it is 20%.

Q:   What is the minimum educational qualification required to apply for the SSC CGL exam?

A:
Candidates who possess a Bachelor's degree can apply for the SSC CGL exam. The Diploma holders are not eligible to apply for the exam. The candidates who are in the last year of their graduation can apply for the exam under the 'result awaited category' but they need to acquire their graduation degree before the last date of application which is considered as the cutoff date. There is no bar of minimum percentage in the Graduation exam. Candidates with any percentage can apply for the SSC CGL exam. The Commission provides a level playing field to all the candidates.

Q:   What are the minimum eligibility criteria to apply for the SSC CGL exam?

A:
There are three main components of the SSC CGL eligibility. These are Nationality Educational Qualification Age limit. All the posts in the SSC CGL exam are open to the Citizens of India. To apply for the SSC CGL exam, the candidate must be a Graduate of a recognised university or institution. Apart from the citizenship and educational qualification, the candidates are required to fulfil the age limit and nationality criteria to appear in the exam.

Q:   Who can apply for SSC CGL 2024?

A:

The eligibility conditions for SSC CGL 2024 exam were mentioned in the official notification. Candidates who are graduates in any stream and fulfil the age limit could apply for the CGL exam. The Commission releases the official age limit, educational qualification and other eligibility conditions in the official notification. The Commission released the official notification on June 24 and the last date to apply for the exam is July 24. The SSC CGL 2024 exam will be conducted from in September/October 2024.

Q:   How many candidates were selected in the SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam 2023?

A:

81,752 candidates were selected for the SSC CGL 2023 Tier 2 exam. The exam is scheduled to be held from October 25–27, 2023. It is expected that 12,36,202 candidates (49.97%) participated in the computer-based Tier-I Examination. The SSC CGL Tier 1 exam was conducted online at the designated exam centres only. The Commission released the SSC CGL 2023 Tier 1 result on September 19. 
The Commission also released the SSC CGL 2023 Cutoff for all the posts groups and categories within them.

Besides above, the following are the other age relations provided as per the following details:

For Group ‘B’ Gazetted posts, age relaxation up to a maximum of 5 years in the case of ex-servicemen including Commissioned Officers and ECOs/ SSCOs who have rendered at least 5 years of Military Service as on the closing date of receipt of applications and have been released:

  1. On completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year from the closing date of receipt of applications otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency; or
  2. On account of physical disability attributable to Military Service; or
  3. On invalidment.
