SSC CGL 2023 Post/Service Preference Form has been released for all the candidates who appeared in the SSC CGL main exam 2023. The candidates will be allowed to fill out their service preferences from November 18 to 21. Earlier the last date to fill out the form was November 26 but the Commission released a corrigendum After analysing the service preferences of the candidates along with the vacancies and categories, the Commission will prepare and release the result. The Staff Selection Commission conducted the SSC CGL 2023 Tier 2 exam on October 26 and 27. SSC CGL Post list and corresponding vacancies were notified in the official Commission's notice.

SSC CGL Posts 2023

SSC CGL Post List and Preference form 2023: The Staff Selection Commission released the SSC CGL 2023 Post Preference form on November 18. The Commission released the Post option-cum-preference form for all the candidates who appeared in the SSC CGL 2023 main exam. The SSC CGL 2023 main exam was conducted on October 26 and 27. The candidates will be allowed to fill out the SSC CGL 2023 Service Preference form till November 21. The candidates will be allowed to change their service preference as many time as they want. The last saved service preference will be considered by the Commission in preparing the final result. The candidates can log in at the official website - ssc.nic.in to fill out the SSC CGL 2023 Service Preference form

SSC CGL 2023 Result will be released after analysing the post preferences of the candidates, number of vacancies and the category of the candidates. The Commission is expected to release the SSC CGL 2023 final vacancies before the release of final result. The Staff Selection Commission released the SSC CGL 2023 Notification on April 18 and 7,500 vacancies were notified for the exam. The SSC CGL Tier 1 exam was conducted from July 14 to 27, 2023 and the SSC CGL 2023 main exam was conducted on October 26 and 27, 2023.

SSC CGL 2023 Post Preference Form

The Staff Selection Commission released the SSC CGL 2023 post preference form for all the candidates appeared in the SSC CGL main exam 2023. The candidates can fill out the service preference online only at the official website. The candidates will be allowed to send their service preference till November 21 only. Q:   Can a B.Tech student appear for SSC CGL exam?

A:
Yes, B.Tech students can give SSC CGL Exam. Students who have completed B.Tech course or are in the final year of engineering can appear for the SSC CGL exam. The official web portal of SSC clearly mentions the eligibility factors for CGL aspirants. Candidates who are aiming to appear for the CGL exam should take care of the following requirements or criteria. 1) SSC CGL minimum Qualification: The basic requirement for SSC CGL exam is a Bachelor’s Degree or Graduation Certificate from a recognized university. There are however certain other criteria for some particular posts such as Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer or Junior Statistical Officer. 2) Age Criteria for SSC CGL: There are different age limits for different posts and the related information can be accessed from SSCs web portal. For 2017 exam, age limit was calculated from 1st August, 2017. If the candidate doesn't fulfill the age criteria for the particular post, he or she will not be permitted to give the exam. The minimum age limit for maximum posts is 18 years. It should be noted that SSC provides age relaxations for some categories, like SC/ST candidates have 5 years of age relaxation and OBC candidates have 3 years and so on. For example: Central government Employees who have served for not less than 3 years can get 5 years of age relaxation. There are also some physical standards for some particular posts which may include candidate’s height, chest and medical reports, etc.

Q:   Is it mandatory to appear for all the tiers of the SSC CGL exam?

A:
Yes, the candidates need to appear for all the tiers of the SSC CGL to qualify the exam. It is essential to appear and clear all the tiers of the SSC CGL exam. The candidates must score marks equal to or more than the SSC CGL cutoff to clear the exam. There are only two tiers in the SSC CGL exam and the candidates are required to appear and clear both tiers separately as well as combined. The Commission added the marks scored in both tiers while releasing the SSC CGL Tier 2 result.

Q:   Is there any age bar to apply for SSC CGL exam?

A:

Yes, candidates who are aged between 18 and 32 years are usually eligible to apply for the SSC CGL exam. However, the age limit varies depending on the post for which the candidate is applying. The candidates must read all the eligibility conditions mentioned in the official notification. SSC CGL 2024 notification is expected on June 10, 2024. The Commission is expected to define the following age limits for different posts:

The minimum educational requirement for these SSC CGL posts is a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or institution. 

Desired Qualification

Chartered Accountant or Cost & Management Accountant or Company Secretary or Masters in Commerce or Masters in Business Studies or Masters in Business Administration (Finance) or Masters in Business Economics.

Mandatory Part: 

During the period of probation direct recruits shall have to qualify for the “Subordinate Audit/ Accounts Service Examination” in respective branches for confirmation and regular appointment as Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer.

Q:   What is the minimum educational qualification required to apply for the SSC CGL exam?

A:
Candidates who possess a Bachelor's degree can apply for the SSC CGL exam. The Diploma holders are not eligible to apply for the exam. The candidates who are in the last year of their graduation can apply for the exam under the 'result awaited category' but they need to acquire their graduation degree before the last date of application which is considered as the cutoff date. There is no bar of minimum percentage in the Graduation exam. Candidates with any percentage can apply for the SSC CGL exam. The Commission provides a level playing field to all the candidates.

Q:   What is the age limit for SSC CGL exam 2023.

A:
The Commission notifies various posts for the SSC CGL exam. Each post has a different work profile and the age limit also differs most of the time. SSC CGL age limit differs as per the post applied. However, candidates should be a minimum of 18 years of age to apply for any SSC CGL post. The upper age limit differs from post to post. The candidates can SEE here the SSC CGL age limit for all the posts. The are four post groups in the SSC CGL exam and the candidates must read the SSC CGL notification before applying for the exam. The candidates are suggested to apply so that they can apply for the correct SSC CGL posts.

Q:   What is the minimum passing marks for SSC CGL Tier 2 exam?

A:

The Staff Selection Commission can change the passing marks required for clearing the SSC CGL Tier 2. The minimum passing marks for the SSC CGL Tier 2 exam vary based on categories. For the UR category, the minimum qualifying marks are 30%, for OBC/EWS it is 25%, and for all other categories, it is 20%.

Q:   How many candidates were selected in the SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam 2023?

A:

81,752 candidates were selected for the SSC CGL 2023 Tier 2 exam. The exam is scheduled to be held from October 25–27, 2023. It is expected that 12,36,202 candidates (49.97%) participated in the computer-based Tier-I Examination. The SSC CGL Tier 1 exam was conducted online at the designated exam centres only. The Commission released the SSC CGL 2023 Tier 1 result on September 19. 
The Commission also released the SSC CGL 2023 Cutoff for all the posts groups and categories within them.

House Rent Allowance

The Central government revised the House Rent Allowance provided for the SSC CGL Posts. HRA is provided to employees to meet their house rental needs. The HRA given to candidates varies as per the city in which they are posted and is broadly divided into three categories:

The Central Government revised the HRA given to the Central Government Employees on December 30, 2022. The government mentioned that the above HRA rates will stand revised to 27%, 18% and 9% when the DA crosses 25% in the above cities and further revised to 30 %, 20% and 10 % when the DA crosses 50%.
