Important Points to Remember
There are a few pointers which one should follow before purchasing prep and guide books.
- Always check the year of publication. You will require new books according to the syllabus. Also, ensure that the book is up to date with the exam pattern and marking schemes.
- Purchase prep books with the latest edition as the content will cover the syllabus.
- Before purchasing a prep book, read through some of the content if you can. It will help you better to understand the guide.
- Coaching centres provide prep books and study material as well. They prescribe the right books which cover the syllabus of the entrance exam.
- Purchase prep books and guides which have the previous years’ question papers and also have sample papers which you can solve.
- Compare books before purchasing them. Through this, you can understand which books cover the syllabus, which book has the latest content and is according to the study material.
- Purchase the prep books only if required. For undergraduate courses, most of the questions asked will be from the books learnt in class 11 and class 12. Even for Postgraduate courses, go through what you have studied in your graduation unless it’s an entirely different course you have opted for.
