The placement in 2015 is average.

Placements: In the general ECE department, 25% of students secured placement. The highest package is 4 lpa, the average is 3 lpa and the lowest is 2 lpa. And the top recruiters are Intel, Qualcomm, and Nokia. Around 40–50% of students secure internships, depending on the institution and location. And top roles offered are Software Engineer, Embedded Systems Engineer, Network Engineer, Data Analyst, Telecommunications, etc.

Nothing is too good; everything is bad here.

Placements: The placement rate is very low, with the highest package being 6 LPA and the lowest 2 LPA. Mahindra is among the top recruiting companies. 100% of students get internships. The top roles offered are Agricultural Engineer, Food Inspector, and Farm Machinery Trainee. The overall placement system is very bad.

For just higher education, good, but career-oriented, no.

Placements: Not very helpful. Only 40% of the students were placed. The highest placement was for 5 lacs per annum. The average salary was around 2 lacs per annum. The top recruiters were government agencies, research labs, and a few educational institutes.

I didn't like the college.

Placements: Not a very good placement record. Only half or less of the batch gets placed, and the ones who are left in college do not even bother about them. The same is true during an internship. Only a handful of NGOs and a few educational institutes exist.

Not that great opportunities .

Placements: The placement opportunities are not great, which is why if you want to get placed, you need to opt for off-campus placement, which means trying to find it by either using your sources or by applying through different websites and job portals. The focus is learning, not getting placed.

Not satisfied because of the old age syllabus.

Placements: There is zero percent chance of campus placement; no one gets an internship from this college; the syllabus is outdated and not relevant to new technologies; teachers do not take class regularly; there is no practical; the course is mainly based on theory.

Come here and enjoy university life.

Placements: Placement is one the most disadvantages of the department. There is a very less number of company come and some student got placed with very low package. The highest on campus package is 9 LPA as I know. Only 50 percent student got placed. All clubs are not working properly.

Boring college with highly egoistic teachers along with staff for whom my one year got wasted.

Placements: Zero direct placement. Nobody gets placement after completing a degree. The placement cell is just for grabbing money from the government. Many of the students are unemployed even after getting good marks. The non-teaching staff is the worst. They need to change the curriculum.

I would not recommend students to take admission in it.

Placements: Around 18% of students were placed in this course. There was no average package, and no company came to hire students, not even the worst companies came to recruit. There were no students who got internships. Some students searched for paid internships themselves, but cannot expect top roles when there were just 3-4 teachers to teach all the subjects in the course.

I am fully dissatisfied because of the poor infrastructure, no placements, faculty is not good.

Placements: Now, I am preparing for the civil services. My college placement is not good due to which many students are facing a lot of problems after the completion of the course. The teachers of this college are not working in favour of the students. All are very selfish and not teaching well. The students have to face a lot of problems in understanding the logic behind the problems and the teachers are unable to solve these.

Disappointed because of management and placements

Placements: In my batch, the placement is zero and in senior batches, there were 3 or 5 placements but the company was fake. Overall, there is no placement here. Every semester, the placement officer is changed but there is no use as not a single company visits, so poor placement facilities. Students have to search for jobs on their own. There is no internship from the college side and ultimately, students got no stipend.

Real view of Assam University, Silchar.

Placements: Hardly one or two were placed in campus recruitments otherwise all are off-campus placements. Almost no hope for good placement. The fee is taken for placement but no such training are conducted. Even if you get selected in a company, it would be a bad one. From the placement point of view, it is the worst government institute. Your only hope is GATE.

The faculty members are the worst and no co-operation. Threatens students of putting backlogs on the exams. Plays with the students' career. Don't allow to celebrate tech-fest. If ask about it, they make them fails, threatens to destroy their career. Teaching is very bad. Partiality everywhere. Placement is near to negligible. Only 2-3 students are placed among around 44 students of the batch 2011-15. Before that no placements were there. The next batch placement is also same. Worst decision tak...

Basically, it's a money sinkhole for taxpayers.

Placements: The placement cell is absolutely worthless, as no agriculture-related placements are offered. Aside from one opportunity in the education department with a maximum renumeration of 2.4 LPA (not salary), top recruiters are Yuvaan Educative and Downtown University, both offering 2.4 LPA remuneration.

I am not satisfied with the education provided and also the campus needs alot of development.

Placements: There are no such placements in our department. We can do Ph.D if we got selected here. Various conferences are conducted, scholars come from all over India to attend. And about internship, very few are selected from our department. This year out of 50, 4 students were selected in internship.
