Be a Xaverian, Be an achiever.
Placements: (1) Around 89 percent. (2) 1.2 crores, 12 Lacs, and 25 Lacs p.a. (3) Not companies but colleges - Calcutta University, IITs, Bose Institutes, IISERs. (4) 100 percent in the above-mentioned colleges + ISRO. (5) Researcher, practical helping teacher, teacher.
Infrastructure: (1) College Wi-Fi is available, and neat, clean classrooms with projectors, 4 libraries with the best control, and labs for every topic and every course. Friendly assistant teachers for help. (2) Good quality food, TT room present, a large infirmary room, all sports equipment present, and competitions held.
Faculty: (1) Teachers are highly qualified with PhDs from colleges across the globe. Always very eager to help and also very welcoming of doubts. Above all, they are able to convey knowledge to students. (2) Our college was one of the first colleges to adapt to NEP. The lecture plan is made in such a way that students find it easy to study and revise on time. Yes, it also makes students industry-ready due to its exposure to daily activities. (3) Semester exams are a little above average; however, due to excellent teaching, the pass percentage is around 94 percent.
Other: (1) Very logical and reasonable subject with a bright scope in future endeavors. (2) Nothing more, everything is perfect. (3) Xavotsav - a famous event. Every department conducts a yearly fest along with the societies, so the campus is filled with events all year round. Good connectivity as it is in the heart of Kolkata. The campus is quite green with many people, sometimes making it feel like a school. Different clubs and societies promote extracurricular activities like dance, music, acting, drama, etc.

B.Sc. (Hons.) in Statistics (Economics) - Batch of 2025

Really good faculty and infrastructure.
Placements: Top companies recruiting from St. Xavier's are PWC, Deloitte US-India, Infosys, ITC, JP Morgan, and many more that embark to recruit students, and salaries range from 5 LPA to 12 LPA. In the statistics program, most students go on to higher degrees, but there are a few who get jobs as data scientists, analysts, or teachers. The department head works hard to place every student in an internship early in their studies.
Infrastructure: St. Xavier's College has a great campus environment and infrastructure. It has every facility a student can think of, both inside and outside the classroom. There's full-time Wi-Fi connectivity, audio-visual teaching methods, projectors in every classroom, and fully equipped labs. The college also encourages students to participate in a variety of sports, including football, cricket, basketball, table tennis, and hockey. The canteen has a wide variety of good-quality food and drinks. There's a cyber cell room and a small stationary shop on campus. The well-maintained field is where the annual XAVOTSAV takes place.
Faculty: The faculty here is top-notch. Every faculty member is highly qualified, with either an M.Sc. or Ph.D. completed or in the process of completion. They are very friendly and approachable and are always willing to explain a topic again if needed. They even encourage one-on-one sessions. There are two semester exams a year, followed by two internals (CIAs) to keep students on track. However, students must maintain a minimum of 75% attendance to be exempt from paying a condonation fee (fine) to be able to sit for the final exams.

College review by Adarsh.
Placements: The good aspects are that the teachers are friendly and the college has a good campus and modern teaching facilities with a Wi-Fi connection. You have to score a minimum of 60 percent in your last exam. I don't have knowledge about the placements; this information is not available.
Infrastructure: The good aspects are that the teachers are friendly and the college has a good campus and modern teaching facilities with a Wi-Fi connection. No hostel facilities are available in our college, but you can avail of PG in that area, so it will be more preferable for the students.
Faculty: I have chosen this course to gain knowledge about something interesting. Our teachers are well-qualified and their teaching methods are also good; they use PPT to explain the topic. Every 6 months, the exam is taken as a semester. I haven't received any scholarship till now.

Review of my wonderful college.
Placements: There are no placements for Physics Honours. Other departments, like Biotechnology and Commerce, have placements every year. For Physics, it is better to go for higher studies, such as doing a Master's, Ph.D., and postdoctoral research.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is very good. Laboratory instruments are not so well maintained. Wi-Fi facility is available, and library is very good. Almost all kinds of books are available. Food quality in the canteen is not so good every day, but for daily purposes, it is acceptable.
Faculty: Faculty members are highly qualified, but some are not very good. Others are very student-friendly and help everyone grasp things easily. Semester exams are moderate to tough. Pass percentage is 26%. Students also become well-versed in various computational aspects of Physics.
Other: I chose this course as I want to go for research in Physics. There are a lot of career opportunities for this course.

Honest opinion about my college
Placements: There was no placement opportunity in our college. Nobody got a job after completing the course. There was no company recruiting from my course. Nobody got an internship. But a few good students went for a master’s degree at Jadavpur University/Calcutta University.
Infrastructure: There was no Wi-Fi connectivity. There are two good labs for physics experiments, well equipped with instruments. Classrooms are good, and the library is also good. The hostel is not that good. Food was available. No medical facilities. There was no space for sports and games.
Faculty: The teachers were well qualified and knowledgeable, but they were not helpful at all. Teaching quality is average. You have to prepare the topics on your own. The course curriculum is relevant, but it does not make one student industry-ready. Semester exams are difficult to pass. The pass percentage is 40%.
Other: Learning Physics was my passion, that is why I chose that course. Physics is called the father of science. The syllabus and question pattern should be changed. That should be innovative. There are not many opportunities. The college fair is there. The campus is average. There are a few government scholarships as well. There are no extracurricular activities.

The college is perfect for you, if you want to enjoy a fun and eventful college life.
Placements: The George Telegraph and IWSPL have offered various placements for students who have graduated or are pursuing graduation from our campus. And I am sure that in recent times, the college has improved very much compared to my time on campus. So there are many placement opportunities now and the alumni association is active in helping students with career counseling too.
Infrastructure: The labs are a bit outdated and the facilities are average, I would say. There is no hostel attached to the college, so you have to make a daily commute. But the college has great places to rest and a canteen that serves decent and healthy food. And the college campus is kept very clean, too.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful with student's queries and the curriculum is relevant too, but the semester exam guard was very tough. Although this is applicable to outside students, as a student at this college, you will get decent lab and library accommodations.
Other: I chose this course because my university has a good reputation and there were sufficient seats for me to enroll. The student union here is a bit overactive, though. So the wise choice would be to concentrate on your studies only and not get involved in student politics.
