Calcutta University is my second home.
Placements: 100% placement ratio is in the JFT branch. 10 LPA is the average package here. Mostly mass-recruiting companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, and Cognizant are visiting. But some top-notch MNCs like Oracle, Amazon, and Microsoft also come here. Many students got internships in our batch in textile companies like Raymond, Arvind Textile, etc.
Infrastructure: They give us meals two times a day in our hostel. We have a long process of hostel registration application, which we first fill up in the secretary office in the technology campus, then in the Raja Bazar campus, then in the College Street campus. The main criteria to get a hostel is that you must decide within the limit radius from your location to the campus, like in our case. It is 60 km from the college campus to your home location. If you don't get a college hostel by any chance for just because of the reason of location distance, you must contact nearby just outside our college campus in Salt Lake; a big PG is there.
Faculty: Mostly teachers are from either IIT graduates or foreign institutes. They teach us programming with cutting-edge technologies in the computer lab that makes us industry-ready mostly. Semester exam questions mostly come from previous year questions and college lectures. So, questions are mostly common, but professors give us marks very strictly. So, getting marks is the tough task here.
Other: I chose this course as it is a professional course and opens up doors about cutting-edge technologies and great packages in MNCs. Sadly, no other extracurricular activities are there on our campus; we are more focused on placement & higher research studies.

    AKCSIT Calcutta University review .
Placements: 80-85% of students got placed with the average package of 5 LPA. The highest goes around 11 LPA. Companies that are coming to the campus are TCS, ACCENTURE, WIPRO, COGNIZANT, and SIEMENS. The students are very skilled; they crack the interviews. The rest of the people who are not interested in placements do M.Tech.
Infrastructure: Hostels have good facilities and good food. The fee of the hostel is 1700 per semester. The classrooms contain an AC and smart board. Labs are having more than 40 computers in a single room. The bathroom and the other floors are clean. Campus has a nice library, which is pretty big and sufficient.
Faculty: Faculty are well-behaving and give marks that a student deserves; don't cut the marks unusual. We must give exams twice, once internal and once final. The average SGPA maintained by students is 7.5 SGPA. The difficulty of an exam is moderate, with questions coming from the syllabus only but conceptual.

Not happy with the placements and faculty, otherwise, it was a beautiful stay in my college.
Placements: Out of 40 students, 24 students were placed. The companies that came are ITC, Haldia Petrochemical, Berger Paints, and Woods. The average package is 3.6 LPA. Usually, the jobs were in process engineering or as onsite engineers. Most students got internships in IOCL, IFFCO, Berger Paints, and HPCL.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is not available on the campus. Labs are fully equipped with equipment, and classrooms have AC and projectors. The library has every book and journal that is available. Hostels are available, and canteen food is also okay and cheap. Medical facilities are available and free of cost for students.
Faculty: Teachers are mostly overqualified and usually arrogant. The teaching quality is okay but mostly based on notes. The curriculum is a bit outdated and not on par with current industry knowledge. Semester exams are usually easy, and the pass percentage is approximately 75%. The students are usually industry-ready as they are geniuses and not due to faculty.
Other: I chose this course and college as it was near my home and also I wanted to study chemical engineering. The curriculum and placement should be better. There is no social life, and no fests or events are held currently.

Completing B.Tech from Calcutta University upholds its legacy and enhances alumni prestige.
Placements: The University of Calcutta has industrial collaborations with companies like TCS, Business Brio, NASSCOM, and IXIA Technologies. The average salary package is 10 LPA. Most students opt for higher studies and research facilities.
Infrastructure: The University of Calcutta has a very good hostel facility. The university canteen serves food at very affordable prices. The campus is full of greenery, and there is a KC ground nearby where students can play cricket, football, badminton, and other sports. The university also has a student aid fund of about INR 1 lakh. In addition, there are sports clubs, a debate club, and a robotics club.
Faculty: The faculty members were very helpful and provided us with their best knowledge. They guided us and always cleared our doubts. The semester exams were moderate to hard, and the passing percentage was above 90%. The students got practical knowledge about the industry and were well prepared for their future jobs.

    Faculty members deserve respect.
Placements: Placement in our college is good. Starting in the 7th semester, students become eligible for campus placement. In my specialization (Ceramic Engineering), OCL India Private, Maithan Ceramic Limited, Hindustan Sanitaryware & Industries Limited, RHI India Private Limited, etc., visited our campus. The average package is 3.4L - 6L per annum. In my specialization, above 90% of students getting placement go to M.Tech according to 2018, because 2019 had some disturbance due to the COVID pandemic. After graduating from college, my first preference is a job, and otherwise, M.Tech is also a good option.
Infrastructure: Hostel rooms are really too big; each room has three students, including seniors and juniors, and there is no problem with room size. Electricity, purified water facilities, and wi-fi are there. Meal quality is very good; you can feel at home with the food, including breakfast (6 a.m.), lunch (starting at 9:30 a.m.), tiffin (4 p.m.), and dinner (beginning at 8:30 p.m.). On the menu, fish, chicken, eggs, vegetables, etc., are available. The registration process is very simple. First, you fill out the form provided by the campus, read the rules, and have them signed by the guardian, HOD, and secretary. Then, submit it to your main campus. Don't worry, details are also provided by the faculty, and you can ask your faculty, senior, or friend. After selection, some documents are needed for your domicile. Hostels are provided for those who are above 60 km from home to college. But before admission, you can rent a room. When you are in the 1st year of Salt Lake or teaching campus at the University of Calcutta, go to Chingrighata (the local area) for PG.
Faculty: In this department, there are 10 faculty members, including the HOD, professor, associate professor, assistant professor, and guest teachers. All faculty members are highly qualified (PhD.), and their teaching method is very easy to understand, and you can ask anything by direct call, go to the faculty, etc. Exams are conducted semester-wise: 1 year has two semesters totaling 8 semesters, and each semester has an internal exam. You can focus on both to pass the exam.
Other: Every year, the annual fest is conducted by all teachers and students, and they are all present at this program. Also, college freshmen and farewell events, along with occasional programs, happen.
