Unlocking the Reality of CUK
Placements: The placement opportunities for the Social Work course are very poor. Companies and organizations like Azim Premji, HCL Technologies, Avanti Fellowship, TATA Consultancy, WIPRO, HFFC, and QSpiders have visited the university for placements. The average package ranges from 2 to 9 LPA. Students from Science and Management disciplines are more frequently placed through campus recruitment.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the classrooms and the library is quite good, but the restrooms are in poor condition. Wi-Fi is available across the campus, and all classrooms are equipped with technical assistance. However, the hostel facilities do not justify the fees paid by students. The toilets are inadequate, the rooms are cramped, and the food provided by the hostel mess is of poor quality.
Faculty: Faculty members are qualified, helpful, and knowledgeable. The teaching methods are effective, and the course curriculum is relevant. Assignments are designed to provide knowledge pertinent to the industry. Semester examinations are somewhat challenging, but most students pass, with top scores reaching around 80%.
Other: The Social Work course is multidisciplinary, offering insights into various societal aspects. However, it lacks rigorous fieldwork practice, which should be incorporated into the academic calendar. The annual sports and cultural fest, Ankur, is held in April. The campus is located in a peaceful, pollution-free environment. Extracurricular activities, particularly sports like football and handball, are actively promoted on campus.

Central University College.
Placements: In this course, 30 students are placed. These students come from different states. This MSW course is good, and the central university exam is conducted by NTA. The exam name is CUET. Academically, the campus is good, but it lacks sufficient fieldwork experience. After this course, we have to find our own jobs as they do not provide placements.
Infrastructure: The classroom and college infrastructure are good. They provide digital classrooms. The library is good with a lot of books, though some books are missing. The Wi-Fi connection is useful. However, the computer lab is not very good. The hostel facilities are poor, and they do not provide quality food for students. Some students live in temporary hostels. The medical facilities are also poor. In the health center, for any problem, the doctor usually prescribes Dolo medicine. The treatment is inadequate.
Faculty: The teachers are knowledgeable, qualified, and helpful. Their teaching style and methods are very effective for studying. The course syllabus is good, and the department follows the academic calendar correctly. The semester exams are conducted smoothly, and students do not face much difficulty. A score above 40 marks is required to pass.

My Life in CUK: Satisfied to an Extent but at the Same Time Dissatisfied
Placements: Almost 95% are placed somewhere in accordance with their specialization area under the course. The lowest package could be 15,000, and the highest could be 60,000 or more. The three specializations have different recruiters and top institutions. Almost all students were placed in internships in both the 3rd and 4th semesters. Roles include Ph.D. positions, corporate jobs, NGO collaborations, project managers, and more.
Infrastructure: The facilities are average. There are classrooms with projectors, smart learning options, and Wi-Fi connections. However, the library facilities are poor due to short library hours. The library closes at 5:30 PM, and this is when we could issue books, as it remains closed until 9 PM, which is also the hostel timing. Hostel life is poor, with low-quality food and poor accommodation. The hostel timings are rigid. The canteen is a relief from the mess food. The health center is well-equipped with paracetamol and O2 for student issues. Sports and games are given importance, with a ground for various sports and a gym for athletes. There's also a multipurpose hall for indoor games.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and helpful, with 3 professors, 3 assistant professors, and 2 contractual faculty members. Their teaching qualities are good. The course curriculum is partially relevant, as fieldwork experiences are lacking. The course should prioritize weekly fieldwork, but there is no such practice on campus. The semester exams are easy, with an average pass mark around 25%, though I am not sure.
Other: I am interested in working in social work, especially in an industrial setting. I would like to prioritize fieldwork and internships. There are many events, with 20 departments each conducting a fest every month. An annual cultural and sports competition is held among the 6 schools under which the departments are organized.

Suffering in Central University of Karnataka
Placements: There no placements provided in this year and for the previous batch. All the students are getting internship for one month both unpaid and student paid to the companies or institutions according to the specialisation. The placement and internship offered by this university is below average and students have to struggle to find job after the completion of the courses.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for both classroom and hostel was very poor. There is Wi-Fi connections are there for both hostel and the classroom but most of the time it is not working and students have to suffer to get Wi-Fi. Even students on network is not available here due to the range issues. Students are not able to study or do assignments due to this issue. There is a library in the university but it is not at all useful because library hours and class hours are similar and students are not able to access books. Moreover a limited number of books are only there. The quality of food in the mess is very bad. We are getting spider, worms etc. Regularly from the food and the price is not cooked most of the time. There is a health center. But it only provide paracetamol and did not give any attention to students health. The university did not support any kind of sports and games.
Faculty: The teachers are well qualified and knowledgeable but the problem is they are not teaching in a proper way. That is there teaching quality is very bad. The teachers are not at all students friendly and some teachers are very professional and some are not at all professional. Some teachers will keep personal grudge. The course curriculum is outdated. The exams are not that much difficult and the pass percentage is almost 100. But the marks will be less for students.
Other: I am very interested to chose this course because I am interested to work as a counselor. The course is very good because it gives three specializations like HRM, MPSW and social development. A new updated syllabus and curriculum will help students to more completable to the new world. The campus will celebrates all the Hindu festival and avoid all other religious festivals. The college fest and hostel day will be conducted in the campus. The connectivity to the campus is little difficult because it is a village area. The college provide scholarships like NSP and all. The campus did not support any extracurricular activities.

The miserable hostel life in Central University.
Placements: Placements are very limited in our course. This year, only HR specialization students had placements. Few students get placements. There are internships during classes, according to the specialization. The internship is provided for almost one month during two semesters.
Infrastructure: The department infrastructure is good, and they use panels for taking classes. There is one central library on the campus. The hostel infrastructure is very poor, and they provide the worst quality of food. Insects and worms are even found in the food they provide. The rooms also have leakage issues.
Faculty: There are professors and assistant professors with high qualifications who are good at mentoring when needed. They conduct classes with presentations, group discussions, and other interactive methods. However, some are not very good with certain students, and some are more professional.
Other: The course I chose is a professional course with various opportunities both in India and abroad. It is a growing subject day by day. With internships, fieldwork, and other activities, we get good exposure. It provides training such as life skills training. Overall, the campus has limited extracurricular activities, and there are no clubs in the college. There are several department fests and college events. Students from all over India come here, which helps in building connections and improving language skills.
