School of Engineering provides high-quality education in major engineering.
Placements: Around 100% of placements are ensured by safety and fire department. If a student has no active backlogs, they will surely be placed. Top companies are GAIL (Gas Authority India Limited), CAIRN, Alstom, L&T, Reliance, Tata, Indian Oil, ONGC, etc. The average salary package offered is around 10 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 6 LPA. The highest salary package offered is 22 LPA.
Infrastructure: Hostel accommodation for around 600 male and 700 female students is available for undergraduate, postgraduate, and research students. Main campus has Sanathana, Siberia, Sarovar, and Post metric hostels for boys and men's hostels. Aiswarya, Athulya, Anaswara, and post metric hostels for girls and ladies' hostels. OBC has post metric hostel for girls and ladies' hostel. Lakeside campus has Cochin University Marine Science campus hostel and men's hostel. Campus cafe is open from 8.00 AM to 8.00 PM on all working days including Saturday. A wide variety of South Indian and North Indian dishes are available. During lunch time meals are available at very nominal rates. Library has a special collections section which is one of the best in India. Truly a treasure house of doctoral like patents, WHO, and other UNO documents, census reports, art books, Vikasana Rekha (Development Reports), and books on library and information science.
Other: The initiative undertaken in this regard by CUSAT is a classic instance of how nature's beautiful resources can be put to optimum use to tackle water scarcity. In 2012, CUSAT campus faced water crisis and had to rely on tankers to meet its water requirements. The issue prompted this university to look for solutions. Later, a decision was taken to construct a pond on campus. Ever since the pond - constructed by the Engineering Department of this university - became a reality, water shortage became a thing of the past.

CUSAT is among Kerala's best, with great campus life and academics.
Placements: Placement opportunities are very high in this university. B. Tech Safety and Fire, Naval Architecture, and Shipbuilding have 100% placement in the last years. In other courses also, they are providing high-package jobs. Several public sector undertakings are also coming for placements to pick students.
Infrastructure: Hostel facilities are also great. According to the allowance, most of the students get their hostels at a very low cost. Under their admission, other students can also get the hostel at a very low cost as guests. Drinking water facilities like hot and cold water are also available readily there. The freedom that we get in the hostels is really good compared to any other hostel in Kerala. Parking facilities for student vehicles are also there. The classrooms are smart rooms, including smart class boards, TVs, projectors, etc.
Faculty: Teachers are really good. They are very supportive during the placement drive and in project and seminar presentations. Teachers are also supportive in giving previous questions for all students, especially for the students who are writing supplementary exams. Most of the professors here right now are experienced in many industries, so they give us practical ideas about what we are studying. And the professors here have many connections with people in those industries. So it is easier for us students and placement coordinators to connect with the company for campus placement drives.
Other: I chose this course because I have a big opportunity in this section in my career. And the package provided by this course is very big compared to any other college in Kerala. I also have a big opportunity for learning and developing extracurricular activities. You can easily participate in any sports and tech events and contribute.

Only for placements, this college is good; for other facilities and infrastructure, it's very bad.
Placements: Placements here are pretty good and I would say that this college is very underrated and overall educational quality is fantastic. The alumni here are at very high positions. Students are getting placed in very big companies like IBM, TCS, Infosys, etc.
Infrastructure: The overall infrastructure and hostel facility are very poor. There is no proper sports facility and it's a very food-prone area. The financial condition of the college is very poor compared to the main campus. The college doesn't have its own hostel facilities.
Faculty: The teaching staff are well-experienced, with more than 20 years of teaching experience. The staff are very friendly and interactive. The curriculum is not that great since here the semester duration is very short and a lot of portions are left.
Other: The sports facilities here are very poor.

Pros and cons of CUSAT university.
Placements: About 25 percent are placed every year. The average package is 5 lakhs per annum. Companies like Reliance, TCS, Vedanta, and Anora come to recruit. Last year, one student got placement due to his internship in Reliance. Majorly, students get the role of graduate engineer trainee.
Infrastructure: Small classrooms and they have fewer facilities. Laboratories have old equipment not working properly. The hostel is fine. Good food. All for an affordable price. There is a doctor available for free for CUSAT students. Gym and sports ground are also there.
Faculty: Moderate teaching, but at times they backstab. Most of them know the subject but don't know how to teach well. Some are not even qualified for teaching. The curriculum is a bit old-fashioned. Semester exams are tough but can be passed by studying before exams.

    Positive side of joining CUSAT.
Placements: EEE batch usually consist of 60-70 students. The placement here for electrical has a moderate package. The highest is around 10 LPA, minimum is around 3 LPA. An average LPA is about 5-6 LPA. About 30% of students do get placement. This year, companies like Reliance, L&T, M Square, and TCS recruited students from our batch. Last year, Tata Power and Vedanta also recruited.
Infrastructure: CUSAT actually has good infrastructure. There is an amenity centre where you have a gym, project incubation centre, fab labs, and a place for recreational activities. Classrooms don't have Wi-Fi but libraries have Wi-Fi. There are 5 hostels for girls and about 7 hostels for boys. They admit students here based on distance. The rent for the hostel is 500 per month. The food is majorly south Indian and costs 2000-3000 per month.
Faculty: B.Tech in CUSAT has 4 years, each year has 8 semesters. Each semester has 6 theory papers and 2 labs. Theory papers are of 3 credits and labs have 1. Teachers here are good. They teach well and do have good connect with students. The curriculum followed here is industry relevant including internships and practical training.
Other: There is this saying here in CUSAT: "Celebrations never die." There are a lot of events, fests conducted in CUSAT. Cultural, technical, workshops are also held. Each department has its own association. Other clubs like SEDS, IEEE, IGBS, SAE, HORIZON are there which helps students to grow and connect with many people.

    Nice college with pleasant vibe.
Placements: Poor placement with below-average LPA. Many students get placed, but the annual income is very poor. Mainly, the majority of the students get placements in many companies, but the majority LPA is less than 8lcs. However, some students get good packages with higher LPA.
Infrastructure: Hostel facility is very poor, but the ambiance and vibe with friends give so many memories. The faculty in charge of the hostel is also very nice and friendly, but the main problem is the mess food; it is very poor. The curries are like flowing water, but the atmosphere is very nice.
Faculty: Teachers are very nice; the majority of them are youngsters with a friendly vibe. The college atmosphere is very cool and chill, but the exams are very tough. If you have a chance to get admission in another university, then go and take admission in that university; don't get trapped in KTU.
