Q:   Which has better placement at DAV University, B.Tech in CSE or B.Tech in ECE?

A:

The placement prospects for B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) versus B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) can depend on various factors, including industry demand, specific skills offered by each program, and individual student preferences.

However, I can provide some general insights:

  1. B.Tech in CSE:

    • Computer Science and Engineering programs often have high demand in the job market due to the increasing reliance on technology.
    • Graduates in CSE are typically sought after by a wide range of industries, including IT companies, software development firms, startups, and more.
    • Job roles may include software development, programming, data analysis, artificial intelligence, and other technology-related fields.
  2. B.Tech in ECE:

    • Electronics and Communication Engineering graduates are often in demand in sectors such as telecommunications, electronics, and embedded systems.
    • Career opportunities for ECE graduates can include roles in telecommunications, semiconductor industries, electronics manufacturing, and research and development.

To make an informed decision, you may consider the following:

  • Review the curriculum of each programme to understand the specific skills and knowledge offered.
  • Explore the placement records and statistics provided by the university.
  • Consider your personal interests and career goals.

The college has knowledgeable teachers, good facilities, and the best environment to start a career.
Placements: I am studying in electronics and communication engineering branch. As per my senior, about 25% of the students got placed in ECE branch. The highest salary package offered is 2.8 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 1.2 LPA. Companies like Airtel, Extramarks, Wipro and many local companies visit our college for placements. The college does not provide an internship for students.
Infrastructure: The college is surrounded by plants, so it is beautiful. The infrastructure of our college is built in such a way that you will enjoy all day on the campus. The college provides canteens and playgrounds for students. The college also provides facilities like Wi-Fi, digital classrooms and library. The hostel facilities are very good, and they provide you with good quality of food items. The college provides many sports equipment like badminton.
Faculty: All the teachers in our college are highly knowledgeable and helpful towards the students. Most of the teachers are Punjabi and having good knowledge of academic. As per my opinion, the electronics and communication engineering course is better for those who have a good interest in science stream. If students hard work, then they make themselves ready for the industrial field.
Other: I have chosen this college because I am studying in DAV for 12 years, so my school principal advised me to do engineering from DAV University. The best thing about our course is that you achieve your goals in every studying field. The college conducts many festivals and events like dance competition, kho-kho tournament and fest. If students score good marks in the examination, then the college provides scholarship to students.

It is a beautiful college with good facilities and a high level of teaching.
Placements: As our college was established 4 years back, the placement rate is very low. About 30% of the students got placed. The highest salary package offered is 3.2 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 1.8 LPA. Companies which visited our college for placements are LG, Patanjali, Extramarks and Samsung. Only 10% of the students get internships in companies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very beautiful. Our college provides a library, classrooms, labs and a huge playground. Facilities provided in the girl's hostel are very good compared to the boy's hostel. You will get only vegetarian food items in the hostel. Our college is known for games and sports, so it provides all the necessary kits.
Faculty: Teachers here are very helpful and well knowledgeable. They always help us. Their teaching quality is in such a way if you attend all classes, then you will get good marks in the examination. All courses have their benefits, and electronics and communication engineering course build the students to get a job in the core industry.
Other: I chose this course because my brother is also from the same background. The best thing about this course is you will get a job in core companies. Our college organises many events like dance competition, fest, sports tournament in every 3 months and social activities like paper drive, etc.

A:
The University is approved by UGC. DAV University (DAVU) offers degree and Diploma courses to candidates at UG, PG, and doctoral levels. The university offers the BCom course at UG-level lasting for three years. DAV University BCom course fees  range from INR 80,00 to INR 2.2 Lakh
Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, candidates can summarize the overall review of the courses offered:
  • Teaching and Curriculum: The teaching quality is overall good, with professors being helpful and knowledgeable. The curriculum is considered suitable for students, with a mix of theory and practical learning.
  • Placement Opportunities: While DAV University doesn't guarantee 100% placements, many reputed companies like Hero Cycles, Reliance Jio, and Samsung have recruited students. However, students must be prepared to compete with peers from other departments, and placements might depend on individual performance.
  • Infrastructure and Facilities: The university has decent infrastructure, with modern classrooms, laboratories, and recreational spaces. Hostel facilities are available, although some students find the food quality lacking.* Campus Life: Festivals and cultural events are celebrated throughout the year, providing opportunities for socializing and skill-building.
