Q:   Which has better placement at DAV University, B.Tech in CSE or B.Tech in ECE?

A:

The placement prospects for B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) versus B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) can depend on various factors, including industry demand, specific skills offered by each program, and individual student preferences.

However, I can provide some general insights:

  1. B.Tech in CSE:

    • Computer Science and Engineering programs often have high demand in the job market due to the increasing reliance on technology.
    • Graduates in CSE are typically sought after by a wide range of industries, including IT companies, software development firms, startups, and more.
    • Job roles may include software development, programming, data analysis, artificial intelligence, and other technology-related fields.
  2. B.Tech in ECE:

    • Electronics and Communication Engineering graduates are often in demand in sectors such as telecommunications, electronics, and embedded systems.
    • Career opportunities for ECE graduates can include roles in telecommunications, semiconductor industries, electronics manufacturing, and research and development.

To make an informed decision, you may consider the following:

  • Review the curriculum of each programme to understand the specific skills and knowledge offered.
  • Explore the placement records and statistics provided by the university.
  • Consider your personal interests and career goals.

I am satisfied with the faculty members, facilities, and infrastructure.
Placements: Placements were good for our batch and senior batch. Almost 73% of the students got placed in our batch. The highest salary package offered was 4 to 5 LPA. The lowest salary package offered was 2 LPA approximately. Roles were like a supervisor, production, designer, maintenance, etc., were offered to students.
Infrastructure: The college provides many facilities, such as Wi-Fi, 24x7 water and electricity supply, library, labs, and good classrooms. The quality of labs and classrooms were very good. The food served in the canteen was very good. The canteen atmosphere was hygienic.
Faculty: Teachers in our college faculty were very much helpful to us. They were highly qualified and had very good knowledge about the courses offered. Teaching quality was good. I would rate 9.5 out of 10 for the student to faculty ratio. We got company exposure. The course curriculum was very much useful for us.
Other: Events like sports events, boot camps, etc., are organised here. Fresher parties were very good, and we enjoyed a lot in the college.

Not much satisfied because of placements, but the faculty and infrastructure are really good.
Placements: The college provides good placements as I was offered a package of 3-4 LPA. For my stream, the highest package offered was around 6 LPA, and the average package offered was around 4-5 LPA. But for other streams like MBA and non-technical courses, placements were very good with the average package being 7 LPA. The placement cell was very supportive.
Infrastructure: The best part of the college is its infrastructure as the whole campus is very attractive and unique. The whole campus is Wi-Fi enabled. Air-conditioned classrooms, labs, etc., are available. The best part is the library. It provides a very good atmosphere for students to study.
Faculty: Another best part of the college is its faculty members. I pursued mechanical engineering, and our faculty members always shared their knowledge with us. I felt they are very helpful, supportive, qualified and knowledgeable. We got industry exposure every week. The course curriculum is very impactful.
Other: Lots of events, fests and athletic meet are organised in the college every year.

A university with highly qualified teachers and an average infrastructure.
Placements: Placements for MBA students were good. The highest salary package offered was 15 LPA. But for B.Tech students, the condition was not the same. Core companies rarely visited the university for hiring engineering students. Despite it, several sales and marketing companies recruited engineering students as well with an average salary package of 3-4 LPA.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure was the worst part of the 4 years I spent at the university. The whole university was still under construction when the classes started. The air-conditioners were not functioning properly. Boys hostel was in the basement where water used to enter the rooms during rainy seasons. The mess food was even worse.
Faculty: Teachers were highly qualified. Most of them have completed their PhDs and had teaching experience of 10 to 12 years. They always guided us in every possible way. They used picture learning techniques. They even led us to various industrial visits which helped us to learn how the industry works.
Other: A cultural fest takes place annually where various celebrities perform. Apart from that, students in various disciplines get a chance to showcase their talents in front of huge audiences. Moreover, the university provides scholarships to various needy and meritorious students. The whole campus is Wi-Fi enabled, and a sports meet is also organised annually.

Dav University from eye of an engineer.
Placements: Good placement opportunities. I am one of the campus placed students. No fake placements for advisement. Not a 100% placement college but if you are good above average you can get placed. I am placed after sitting in 10+ placements drives, opportunities are present in this University. 3lakhs/annual is the minimum placed amount for a student. It is a good University with bad management.
Infrastructure: Only in block is air conditioned, other block does't. Everything is available like library with 200+ students sitting capacity girls hostel and boys hostel both are available. University has one administration block two academic block in which one is fully AC and other one don't have any air conditioning.
Faculty: I am a b tech student and in our faculty minimum qualification is m tech and max is Ph.D. Teachers are helpful. Knowledge of teachers is high and wide. Teachers of mechanical engineering is very good in there field of teaching with experience of 10+ years.
Other: Regular events are organised, conducted. Crowd is good.

There are many facilities and great exposure to engineering is provided.
Placements: The placement faculty are quite helpful, and the way they give us knowledge regarding interviews and personality development are mesmerising. I personally got selected in Amazon and Vivo India Ltd. A lot of IT companies come and select the students in bulk. The teachers work on their core building process for further industrial exposure and experience. Hobbies wise groups are divided like robotic and infrastructure development to grow them as per their interest, which was quite helpful for the student to grow as a knowledgeable person.
Infrastructure: As I want to start about the Wi-Fi speed, that is almost 2 Mbps, which is quite good for getting attached to the online topics and videos in class. Almost every kind of games is there such as judo, basketball, kho-kho, kabaddi etc. To create your aura to the further state and national level. Around 4 to 5 cafeterias are there and a very big canteen though. Fully furnished classrooms and well-developed labs are there. It is quite enough and helpful university to grow you as a gentle person. The administration building is very well furnished. It can facilitate and gently handle every person. Around 10 storeys building is there for girls hostel and safety for them is the priority. They take their responsibilities for the betterment of the students and university as well.
Faculty: Engineering faculty are well qualified, and some of them are from research and development scientists. This sounds quite good that how you'll grow by their practical examples in your study. In my batch, 4 to 5 industrial visits happened which was very helpful. Software and crash courses are also there.
Other: In DAV University, you'll never feel out of interest as a lot of curricular activities are held day by day. Like new year celebration, Lohri special, Basant etc. Every fest is celebrated there. Star nights are also held there, four times in a year for big occasions.

Q:   Is DAV University good for BCom?

A:
The University is approved by UGC. DAV University (DAVU) offers degree and Diploma courses to candidates at UG, PG, and doctoral levels. The university offers the BCom course at UG-level lasting for three years. DAV University BCom course fees  range from INR 80,00 to INR 2.2 Lakh
Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, candidates can summarize the overall review of the courses offered:
  • Teaching and Curriculum: The teaching quality is overall good, with professors being helpful and knowledgeable. The curriculum is considered suitable for students, with a mix of theory and practical learning.
  • Placement Opportunities: While DAV University doesn't guarantee 100% placements, many reputed companies like Hero Cycles, Reliance Jio, and Samsung have recruited students. However, students must be prepared to compete with peers from other departments, and placements might depend on individual performance.
  • Infrastructure and Facilities: The university has decent infrastructure, with modern classrooms, laboratories, and recreational spaces. Hostel facilities are available, although some students find the food quality lacking.* Campus Life: Festivals and cultural events are celebrated throughout the year, providing opportunities for socializing and skill-building.
  • Research and Internship Opportunities: While these seem limited, some students reported getting internship offers during their summers, which can be beneficial for career growth.
  • Scholarship Options: Scholarships are available, making higher education more accessible to deserving students.
In conclusion, while DAV University may not excel in every aspect, it seems like a decent choice for those seeking a Bachelor's degree in Commerce. With its relatively affordable tuition fees and decent placement record, students may find it a viable option for pursuing their academic goals.
