Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   Can I get direct admission to DU for MCom?

A:

The admission process for MCom at Delhi University up until 2021 was offered across two categories: Direct Admission and Through Entrance Test. Also, along with the entrance exam, interview rounds were also conducted for admission to Delhi University PG programmes.

There was no minimum age limit to take admission to the MSc programme offered by the university. However, DU PG admission 2022-23 was subject to a valid score in DUET as announced by the University. Starting 2023, the admission process of DU for its postgraduate courses, such as MA, MSc and MCom will be subject to the CUET-PG exam conducted by NTA.

After the results, qualified students will be required to appear for the seat allocation process conducted by the university for final seat allotment. While there is no information on direct admission on the official website of DU or its affiliated colleges students are advised to visit the admission office for more details on the same.

This college is value for money.
Placements: In this college, the current salary of recent graduates is generally lower than the current salary of students who graduated in previous batches. TCS is the top recruiting company. Around 2% of students get placements from every course depending upon the rank they hold in this college or on the interview basis.
Infrastructure: The facilities depend on college but still, every college is trying to provide the best facilities to their teacher and college students. Our campus has Wi-Fi support, a library, a canteen, and medical facilities. This university provides a hostel facility also.
Faculty: Teachers are highly educated, and teachers have done their Ph.D. They are very helpful, have a high level of knowledge of both courses. There are 2 semesters in a year so for M.Com students have 4 semesters to pass.
Other: It provides a good crowd of educated students whose main focus is mainly on studies, they do not talk irrelevant to others. Our campus is surrounded by a good and green environment. Events are also held every year.

    Q:   Is DU admission open?

    A:

DU admission for 2025 will open soon. Currently, the applications are open for PhD programme till Dec 10, 2024. Admission in Delhi University is based on CUET-UG and CUET-PG scores. Below are the upcoming events for DU admission:

    • The CUET PG registration process 2025 for admission to PG courses is expected to begin during the last week of Dec 2024, tentatively.
    • The CUET UG registration process 2025 for admission to UG courses will commence tentatively during the last week of Feb 2025. The CUET UG 2025 exam dates will be announced soon.

Q:   Can I take admission to DU with 60% in Class 12?

    A:

DU is considered one of the most competitive universities in India for Commerce, Science and Arts education at the undergraduate level. The university and its affiliated colleges was attracting the cream layer of crowd till the time admission was subject to Class 12 scores. While reserved category candidates still had minor chances of getting into a not-so-popular course of DU with 60% in Class 12, a General category student with 60% had no chance of getting into any good college or course at DU.

However, starting 2022, DU admission process has shifted to CUET-UG based admission process. Those with a valid score in CUET UG exam who have passed their Class 12 are eligible to take admission now. While the chances of getting into a good DU college are still low at this score, the chances of getting a seat have increased now (provided you score extremely well in CUET UG).

Q:   Is Delhi University good for B.Ed?

    A:
    {Source: B.Ed students & alumni}

Based on student reviews and feedback, here's what stands out:

    * Teaching Quality: Teachers are considered knowledgeable, helpful, and supportive. They are willing to clarify doubts and help students develop their skills.

    * Course Curriculum: The course is designed to make students industry-ready. It covers field observations, school experience programs, and practical training.

    * Placement: About 80% of students get placed easily, with salaries ranging from INR2 LPA to INR5 LPA. Some even receive offers up to INR12 LPA. Internships are also available, with around 60% of students getting selected.

    * Infrastructure: Facilities include modern classrooms, libraries, labs, and hostels. Food is available at reasonable prices (around INR5,000 per month).

    * Scholarships: Some students have received scholarships, making the programme more accessible.

    * College Life: Clubs and events are organized regularly, providing opportunities for socializing and skill-building. However, some areas may need improvement, such as cleanliness and maintenance.

In conclusion, Delhi University's Faculty of Law seems to offer a strong B.Ed program, with dedicated teachers, a relevant curriculum, and decent placement prospects. While there may be areas for improvement, overall, the university appears to provide a solid foundation for students pursuing a career in education.
