Q:   How many marks are necessary for B.Tech at G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology?

A:

Your score and rank in JEE Mains will determine the chances of you getting into the college. Also, only your rank in JEE Mains is going to decide the branch you will be alloted. There are total 9 engeneering branches in the university out of which 1 is headed by College Of Basic Sciences and Humanities (Biotechnology Engg)while the rest are under the College of Technology.

For branches like Computer and Information Technology, you really need to score good. Especially for general category students the closing rank is about under 40-50k. And for branches like electrical and electronics and communication engineering your rank must be around 90k. And for the rest branches like mechanical, industrial and production Engg, agricultural and civil engineering lower ranks under 3 Lacs may be considered.

Hope this helps.

Q:   Is it worth pursuing BVSC at GBPUAT?

A:
{Source: BVSC students & alumni}

Based on the feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the key points:

Pros:

* Good teaching quality (some teachers are exceptional)
* Availability of dairy farms, poultry farms, and pig farms for hands-on experience
* Best campus, peaceful, and conducive to learning
* Scholarship opportunities for top-performing students
* Extracurricular activities, including webinars, sports, and cultural events
* Helpful faculty members and support services
* Good infrastructure, including hostels, laboratories, and library
* Opportunities for international exposure and scholarships

Cons:

* Limited job placements (around 15 students out of 40 get placements)
* Lower salary packages (Rs 25-30,000 per month) and limited scope for growth
* Infrastructure issues, such as outdated equipment and lack of maintenance
* Quality of food and hostel facilities could be improved
* Course curriculum can be overwhelming, leading to stress and burnout

Conclusion:
While GBPUAT offers a good academic environment, internship opportunities, and exposure to global practices, the job market outcomes might be limited. Students pursuing BVSC at GBPUAT must weigh the pros and cons carefully before making an informed decision. With improvements in infrastructure, teaching quality, and job placements, this institution has the potential to become a top choice for aspiring veterinarians.

Remember to consider factors beyond academics, such as personal interests, skills, and goals, when deciding whether to pursue BVSC at GBPUAT.

It is a good college, especially for students who want to go for further studies.
Placements: Placements are for final-year students. Top companies visit our campus for agricultural engineering, mechanical engineering, and industrial engineering students. The average salary package offered is 2 LPA - 7 LPA.
Infrastructure: Our college provides good infrastructure. Our classrooms are well maintained. Wi-Fi is available. We have a private mess in our hostel. Labs are not good. The lab equipment is not good.
Faculty: Our teachers are helpful and knowledgeable. They guide us through every step. We have two prefinal exams of 15 or 25 marks. Lab finals are for 20 marks, and final exams are for 50 marks. The pass percentage is 50%.
Other: An exchange program is available for B.Tech. agricultural engineering, biotechnology, food technology, community science, and B.Sc. agriculture students.

Our college is good with decent placements.
Placements: Almost 60% of students were placed in various companies. The highest salary package offered was about 6.5 LPA and the average salary package offered was around 3 LPA. Top recruiters were mostly tractor companies, including John Deere, Escort Tractors, Mahindra Tractors, TAFE India, etc. Internships were offered to some students. Top roles were offered in sales, research and development.
Infrastructure: We had excellent classrooms with comfortable seating arrangements. Wi-Fi was available in classrooms, but coverage was low. The college had many hostels with enough rooms to accommodate all students. First year student were given a three sharing room while from second year onwards students may get single sharing room. The mess serves good-quality food. Sports facilities were limited to some indoor games like table tennis and badminton.
Faculty: Most teachers were well-qualified and knowledgeable. They taught courses in a systematic manner and covered the full syllabus. The course curriculum was not updated, focuses mostly on theoretical aspects, and might not make students industry-ready. Examinations were difficult, but most of the students made it through them. Almost 80-85% of students pass the course.

Our college is full of life, if you couldn't make it to the IITs/ NITs come to our college.
Placements: Placements in our college are average. The highest salary package offered was around 7.5 LPA for analyst roles. The average package offered to the students in our branch was 4.5 LPA and the lowest package offered was around 3 LPA. This trend is followed each year but it depends on the company coming for recruitment and on the performance of students. Top recruiting companies for our course are Escorts, John Deere, Mahindra, Adani Wilmar, etc. Some students got an internship in Escorts Faridabad and AgriNext consultancy and were later placed there at decent packages. The top roles offered were graduate engineer trainee, agricultural engineer roles, etc. Many students in our field don't go for placements and rather give GATE, CAT, GRE, and GMAT, exams to pursue higher studies in India and abroad.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities available at our university are good. There's a CCF- central computing facility providing free Wi-Fi with good internet connectivity. But there is no Wi-Fi facility given in the boys' hostel. Classrooms and labs are well maintained and in good condition. There is a central library near the registrar's office where books are issued to the students. It is a good place to concentrate on studies as there is silence inside the library. Inside the hostel, a badminton court, tennis court, basketball court, and gym are provided. Mess food is okay. It depends sometimes it's tasty sometimes not. If you are bored eating food in the mess, you can eat in the canteens like TIC, brijwasi canteen, etc. Electricity keeps going in the hostel frequently. The medical facilities are good here. A university hospital is there which looks upon the health of the inmates. Every type of sport is played in the Stevenson stadium. One thing which attracts me the most is the greenery and pleasant weather of Pantnagar. But in summer it's scorching hot here.
Other: Many fests like colosseum, technozarre, razzmatazz, accolade, YUVA, workshops, etc., are organised by different societies of our college. Besides this, many extracurricular activities and games are also conducted for the students.

Overall it is a good university, placements are okayish, campus life is fun.
Placements: Placements here are sort of average. Students can sit for placements from the 7th semester. The highest package offered was 18 lacs and the average package is around 4 - lacs. Around 70-75% students gets placed every year. Mostly the companies are Agriculture based.
Infrastructure: Every student gets hostel rooms as there are ample number of rooms. We get 1 chair, 1 table, 1 B.Ed and an almirah in each room for each student. Registration process for the hostel allotment is quite time taking. The mess menu is quite diverse and serves both veg and non veg food to the students.
Faculty: Agricultural Engineering is a branch with increasing demand between students as its curriculum is vey diverse. The faculty to student ratio here is approximately 1:28. Almost all the professors have done their Ph.D. from reputed institutes. Term exams here are of moderate level and can be easily cleared with regular studies.

I am satisfied with this college in all aspects.
Placements: The placements of this college are average and very less number of students are placed in agricultural engineering. The number of companies coming for placements are also very limited so are the placements. Studying further offers students to work in agriculture management-related jobs as well.
Infrastructure: The classrooms and laboratories are good. The library is excellent which is built in association with NAHEP. Hostels are average, so the food offered in the mess is good. One luring fact is that they offer dessert very frequently. There are a bunch of canteens and markets surrounding the college and hostels proving students with a variety of flavors.
Faculty: Teachers are good, highly qualified, experienced, and are ready to help whenever needed. The curriculum is legit relevant with proper laboratories, facilities exams. It does make students industry-ready. The semesters are fairly difficult for students to be forced to read their textbooks thoroughly.
Other: Agricultural engineering is one of the emerging sectors of India, and the rest of the world with advancements in the machine world and technology, agricultural technologies are being updated as well and it requires engineers with knowledge related to agriculture. The campus is huge ie. 12,661 acres, is the largest in India and 2nd the largest in Asia, with greenery everywhere, properly built transport systems, proper water and electricity services, etc. Fests, workshops, meets are frequently occurring scenarios with vast participation from students.
