Satisfied by the faculty, Placement scenario improving rapidly, Quality education at reasonable fee.
Placements: The Placement and Training cell has been indeed working hard for the last two years to improve the placement scenario at the university. Not only students are getting placed with notable PSUs and Government embodiments but also have got into reputed tech firms like Microsoft, American Express, etc. The highest package this year has been 18 LPA to a Computer Science student who has been recruited by American Express while the average package goes around 5 LPA with the roles being generally of project manager. The Placement Cell has confirmed teh arrival of Amazon as a recruiter from this year onwards.
Infrastructure: The university boasts of a robust infrastructure with newly constructed tech-equipped digital classrooms and lecture halls with high-speed Wi-Fi and student-friendly library. The hostel rooms are spacious and well-built with nutritious mess food at pocket friendly amount.
Faculty: The faculty is super talented and friendly and have deep insights about the concepts of the subjects being taught. The course is relevant from career point of view and the course structure is well designed for students who want to pursue higher studies or crack competitive examinations like GATE.

It is a good college and has good value for money.
Placements: Almost 80% of students got placed in our college. The highest salary package offered is 33 LPA. The average salary offered is 33 LPA. The lowest salary package offered ranges between 4 LPA - 5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Wipro, American Express, Gemini Solution, etc. Many students got internships from our course in companies like Microsoft and Google. Students got many top roles.
Infrastructure: Our college provides facilities like Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, sports, a gym, and a library. The infrastructure of our college is well-maintained. There is a central library for all departments. There are around 4 hostels which are 2 for girls and 2 for boys. The food served in the mess and canteen is good.

I am satisfied with faculty members and placements.
Placements: Placements are below average in our branch. The average salary package offered ranges between 2 LPA - 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies are American Express, etc. Around 70-80% of students got internships. Top roles offered are assistant professor, associate professor, and HOD.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. They always solve our doubts in preparing for semester exams. The course curriculum is relevant. Semester exams are difficult. The pass percentage for each subject is 40%.
Other: Our college conducts many sports and games, and students will go for inter and intra-level tournaments.

I am not satisfied with placements and hostels.
Placements: About 35% of students got placed this year in our course. The highest salary package offered is 52.6 LPA. The average salary package offered is 6.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Infosys, Wipro, Qualcomm, Oil India, etc. All students got internships in MNCs which are mandatory for students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our department is not so good because it is the oldest University in Bilaspur. Our university provides facilities like Wi-Fi, parks, and sitting areas. Labs are huge, but all equipment is not available. Classrooms and benches are good. Our college has a central library and another library for our department. Every subject and research-related book is available. There are three huge hostels for all the students in the university. One hostel is for master's and research students, and two hostels are for bachelor's degree students. The food quality is good. A first-aid box is available in our college.
Faculty: Teachers are good and helpful. All the permanent teachers are GATE-qualified and are Ph.D. holders. Some are guest lecturers. The course curriculum is not relevant because it does not provide practical knowledge to students. Our university conducts exams on time. Exams are not difficult to pass.
Other: Our college organises many sports, games, fests, events, and cultural activities. The physical department organises the inter-college sports tournament. The hostel fee is Rs. 6,750 per month, and the college fee is Rs. 10,250 per annum. The government provides 100% scholarships to students.

Our college provides large gains with less investments,
Placements: Placements in our college are is pretty good with 70% of the total going every year with salary package varying from 20 to 30 LPA. The ratio of students going for the GATE GRE is more than sitting for placements due to thorough education in core streams imparted by the faculty. With Google Develepor Club and August alumni, the internships are going pretty well. ECE, IT, and CSE sectors give some excellent placement records which include eminent recruiters like Airtel, Tata Mahindra, Wipro, and L&T. To be precise chemical engineering, Cipla, and Sun Pharma are good ones.
Infrastructure: Hostel facilities are quite impressive with new infrastructure after the Covid break which provides decent rooms with as many sockets as enough to charge your things. There is a calm atmosphere overall with lush greenery. There's a pristine environment on the campus away from the hustle-bustle of society. Rooms are provided according to merit and scholarships are bestowed depending on your academic performance. Wi-Fi facility is available all over the campus with newly built well-equipped labs and computer rooms. The central library attracts a vast multitude of students who love books with its grand structure and systematic management. Fully vegetarian mess is run on the campus with good quality and hygienic meals alongside a good amount of playgrounds to keep health good. We also have an active medical team to look upon the students.
Faculty: Teachers are extremely skilled and professional in teaching with caring and supportive demeanor for every student which comes as top advantage of the university. Most of the faculty members are well versed, updated, and highly knowledgeable about their subjects and put attention to everyone giving a holistic perspective. The course is relevant and follows the syllabus proposed by the Central Education Board which helps a lot in the practical field as well as for those preparing for their masters. Semester exams are quite difficult and a person needs thorough knowledge to pass them. We have 2 class tests and semester exams to decide your passing criteria where you need to score atleast 35%.
Other: I was rather opportune enough to get into a GFTI which itself speaks a lot. The tag works a lot whenever you sit for an interview and will add stars to your overall persona. I aspire to clear GRE and GATE and pursue masters for which GGU is a gem with supportive faculty and a disciplined course plan which will check on academia. A little more development in infrastructure and well-designed clubs will take it to next level. At present being a freshman in the college I am on the graphic designing team of the annual college fest Equilibrio. The university magaizne too runs with many other relevant and thrilling clubs. The campus gives you a place closer to nature which helps you to be more fresh and tuned. A great number of scholarships are available and people need to workout seriously for that.

A:

Placement Cell Assistance for BE/BTech Students at Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya

Unfortunately, our placement cell is not functioning effectively, and most students rely on off-campus placements, internships, or pursuing higher education (MS/MBA). Few students from CSE and IT branches had limited placements last year.

Here are some key findings:

* Limited Placements: Only a handful of students get placed annually, mainly in coaching institutions like Allen, Vibrant, and Career Point as faculty.
* Low Salary Packages: Average salary packages offered are around INR2-3 Lacs per annum.
* No Industry Exposure: The college does not provide industrial visits or projects, making students less industry-ready.
* GATE Exam Focus: Most students focus on clearing the GATE exam to secure PSUs or IITs/NITs for further studies.
* Internships Mandatory: Third-year students are required to participate in internships, which often lead to full-time employment offers.
* Placement Cell Issues: There is a lack of cooperation from faculty members, and the placement cell seems to be ineffective in securing job offers for students.

These challenges emphasize the importance of self-preparation and exploring alternative options for students seeking career advancement.

Q:   What should I do to get a direct admission in Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya?

A:

It is true that admission to GGU (Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya) can be obtained without taking the Vishwavidyalaya Entrance Test, or GGU VET ( direct addmission are open). Admission requirements for the various undergraduate and graduate programmes offered by GGU may differ. While certain programmes may have various entry requirements, such merit-based selection or other entrance tests, others may require the GGU VET. To find out if the GGU VET is required for the programme you are interested in, it is essential to review the entrance requirements specifically for that programme.
