A:

BTech is one of the popular courses of Tezpur University (TU), which is offered across six domains. Tezpur University’s faculty of engineering and technology have good standards of education, labs and placement records, and all these factors are worth considering.

Tezpur University offers two types of BTech courses: regular BTech, a four-year full-time course, and BTech (Lateral Entry), a three-year course only for candidates who have completed their Diploma in engineering in the relevant discipline.

Candidates willing to take admission in BTech at Tezpur University must take JEE-Main or Tezpur University Entrance Examination (TUEE) to become eligible for the counselling process conducted by TU.

60% of the total seat intake of BTech is reserved for permanent residents of North East states and should have the Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) for admission in this category.

Apart from that, 60% seats admission to the remaining 40% open seats is done through the central counselling, i.e. Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) based on JEE (Main)

Q:   Does Tezpur University accept CUET for admission in BTech?

A:

CUET-UG is a national-level entrance exam conducted by NTA whose score card/ rank helps in taking admission in all major UG courses besides BTech. Candidates willing to take admission in BTech must take the JEE-Main exam, which is also a national-level entrance exam but mainly for admission to BE/ BTech in various government and private universities and colleges.

Also, Tezpur University accepts admission in its BTech course based on the scorecard/ rank of JEE-Main. For lateral entry to BTech, the candidate needs to take Tezpur University Entrance Examination (TUEE), which is TU's own entrance exam.

Candidates must prepare well for the examination described above because only a good rank above the closing rank specified in the merit list released by TU will make the applicant eligible for further counselling rounds followed by document verification and fee payment.

Average college with very beautiful campus!
Placements: I am in electrical engineering course; around 50 students are enrolled in our course. Talking about the previous year, around 80% of the students got placed in electrical batch. The package offered was quite decent, with an average of 8 LPA, and the highest package was around 20 LPA, while the lowest package was 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Reliance India limited, Assam State Electricity Board, Celstream Technologies, etc. Around 75% of students were offered an internship programme in companies like ITC limited. Various roles are offered in the course, such as product designer, product manager, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure available on the entire campus is magnificent. However, currently, the institution does not have an electrical department available. But the rest of the academic facilities are very well maintained and provided for students. Classrooms are provided with smart projectors and digital screens. The library is good enough, with a collection of around 20,000+ books and journals. Wi-Fi is also provided on the library campus. Hostels are quite good, as most of the hostels here are electricity-neutral and well-equipped with solar panels. Mess quality in hostels is not too good. However, a canteen is available for students in the hostel. The institute has its own health center available for medical facilities. A wide variety of sports are also available.
Faculty: Faculty members are really helpful here. They have very good knowledge of the subjects. Their teaching qualities are also decent enough to make you understand the concepts. However, a few may be very boring. The course provides a wide variety of knowledge and understanding about the curriculum. The course is totally relevant. It will help students explore wider aspects of industry. Semester exams are not very tough! As it is primarily from the discussed portions of the classroom. One with a basic knowledge of class notes can easily pass the exams. Semester exam pass percentage is around 80%. .
Other: In my electrical batch, around 40 students are enrolled. The reason behind choosing this course is obviously due to my bad rank in JEE Main, and this was the only course I was getting. The best thing about this course is that you can get a good PSU's job through it. I think there should be more focus on providing practical knowledge in this course, as the complexity of the theory makes it difficult to understand. You will find lots of recreational programs on campus; various events like Inscignis, Techxetra, and food festivals are generally organized here. The campus is very beautiful, as it is covered with lush greenery and good infrastructure. However, connectivity is not very good here. Scholarships are also provided by the university; for more details, you can check the university's official website. Extracurricular activities like debates and quizzes are generally organized here.

Good central government college for those whose %ile is low in JEE Main.
Placements: To be honest, placements are a little disappointing here, but they are getting better day by day. The major hindrance is the location factor, but the TnP cell works very hard to bring companies and provide opportunities to students. Here, some PSUs are also looking for placements.
Infrastructure: The best things about this university are its lush green campus and its infrastructure. It is one of the best among many institutes in the North-East. The institute has 7 boys and 9 girls hostels, and some are under construction. It also has a central library, which is attached to all modern equipment and has a wide range of book collections.
Faculty: Academics are quite hectic here as we are under continuous assessment. We give 4 exams in a semester: sessional tests (25 marks), midterm (40 marks), and endterm (60 marks). Professors are well qualified, as most of them hold Ph.D. degrees from IITs.

This is the best north-east college ever and the infrastructure and facilities are really good.
Placements: To be honest, placement here can be a little disappointing, but it is getting better day by day. The major hindrance is the location factor but the TnP cell works very hard to bring companies and provide students with equal opportunities. CSE has an average placement, followed by ECE. In the core branch, most people go for exams like GATE ESE, State PSU exams or any higher studies; however, some people also get placed on campus at PSUs like OIL, Electricity Boards and all.
Infrastructure: Tezpur University has well-developed hostel facilities for its students. There are a total of 11 hostels on campus, which provide accommodation for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The hostels are divided into separate blocks for male and female students. Each hostel has its own mess facility, providing affordable and nutritious meals. The rooms are well-furnished with basic amenities like beds, study tables, and cupboards. The hostels also have common rooms with television sets, and some have sports facilities like badminton and table tennis courts. Regular maintenance and cleaning of the hostels is ensured by the university administration. Overall, the hostel facilities at Tezpur University are considered to be of a good standard and meet the needs of the student community. At the end, one thing I want to say is that you have to face some problems.
Faculty: Academics here is quite hectic as we are under continuous assessment. We give 4 exams in a semester Test-1 (25 marks) Midsem (40), Test-II (25) and Endsem (60). Professors here are quite qualified, as most of them hold Ph.D. degrees from good and reputed colleges like NIT and IIT and have many years of teaching experience.

Know Tezpur University in-depth.
Placements: As far as I know on campus the highest was 6.5LPA the lowest was 3LPA. TCS no one got internships Software Engineer. The placement scenario isn't as good as it is. This is mainly due to a lack of very good connectivity with the airport. If it improves it will be as good as IITs.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is first class. Awesome rooms, clean toilets, good environment. The hostel is also lovely. Wi-Fi also works fine. The environment is so good that it not only helps to study but also helps to have a fresh mind and function properly. I am glad for being a student at the university.
Faculty: Every teacher is qualified and has in-depth knowledge of the subjects. The course is prepared to keep everything in mind. The exams are a bit high but that's okay. The labs and the work done there are also at par with many good institutions. The classrooms are neat and clean.
Other: Choosing this course was by choice as my home is near to it too. And being a local person I know the scenario as it gets.

Tezpur University Worth taking admission or not.
Placements: Almost 50 percent get placed with 12 LPA the highest package and average package 5 LPA with top recruiters TCS, Infosis, Wipro, BHEL, Indian Oil, APDCL, ONGC, AGCL, Google, etc. With 100 % of students getting internship in APDCL, AGCL, Indian Railways, ONGC, L&T,.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good, with a good Wi-Fi speed, a smart classroom, and a library with more than 2000 books. The hostel facilities are good, with a hygienic mess and canteen, good medical facilities, and a field with lighting for a basketball and volleyball court.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful with good qualifications and knowledge. The course curriculum is relevant, but the exams are difficult and pass marks are quite high. But the curriculum is industry-ready, and the teaching quality is very good with reachable professors and helpful lab assistants.
Other: The batch size is 50 students, with various extracurricular activities and festivals like Techxetra.
