What’s new?

BBA (ODL/Online mode) fresh admissions and Re-registrations are open for the Jan 2025 admission cycle and the last date to apply is Feb 15, 2025. Candidates can apply for the course through the official university's website.

IGNOU BBA Admission 2023

IGNOU also offers a three-year BBA programme in Retailing specialisation at the undergraduate level. The programme is of 96 credits comprising of all compulsory courses along with an internship and On the Job Training (OJT) in the first, second and third year, respectively. The programme is offered with a modular approach as mentioned below:

First-year: Diploma in Retailing (DIR)
Second-year: Advanced Diploma in Retailing (ADIR)
Third-year— Bachelor of Business Administration (Retailing)
Three months internship in the first year and OJT subsequently in the second and third year
A viva voce after submission of the workbook for are only exit points.

Eligibility for Category A, i.e. Direct Entry:

A pass in Class 12 or its equivalent
University provides reservation of seats as per Government of India rules

Eligibility for Category B, i.e. Sponsored Admission:

Sponsors are allowed to nominate employees, who have passed Class 12 or its equivalent from their Retail organisation. The sponsor will submit a letter on the company’s letter head issued by the competent authority along with an application form of the candidate nominated with the programme fee through a DD drawn in favour of ‘IGNOU payable at New Delhi’.

Medium of instruction: English

Duration: Three to six years; offered only July cycle of admissions.

Placements: Almost 70% of students got placed in our course. The highest salary package offered is 18 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 12 LPA. Almost 60% of students got internships from our course in MNCs. Many top roles are offered to students.

Infrastructure: Our college provides good facilities and infrastructure. Our college provides facilities like Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, a mess, a canteen, a library, medical facilities, sports, games, etc. The food served in the mess and canteen is very tasty.

Faculty: Our teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is different, and all students understand every topic easily. The course curriculum is relevant and makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are moderate.

Our college campus is very good.

Placements: Almost 80% of students got placed in our course. The highest salary package offered is 17 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 11 LPA. Almost 90% of students got internships from our course in many MNCs.

Infrastructure: Our college provides facilities like Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, a library, etc. The hostel facilities are good. The food served in the mess and canteen is good. Medical facilities are available on campus.

Faculty: Our teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is very different, and every student can understand all topics easily. Our course curriculum is relevant and makes students industry-ready. The difficulty level of semester exams is moderate.

Other: I opted for this course because of my interest in it. Events, fests, and the campus crowd are good.

The college is good if your purpose is to join distance education.

Placements: There is no such assurance of placement with IGNOU but there are many career options like that of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor. The best thing about the college is that I can pursue my graduation while I work full time. There is no such thing as internship provided by the campus, you will have to do everything on your own. The college will only provide you with the course and exam details, that's it.

Infrastructure: I can't say much about the infrastructure because it's a distance learning thing and we need not visit the campus for anything. But I have visited the campus and they have lab, library and full Wi-Fi enabled campus. The campus also has a recreational area and a very good canteen.

Faculty: I don't take classes but there are classes available on weekends and the fee can also be paid online via logging into the portals and uploading all the documents along with the online fee. The exams are difficult if you do not study, but it’s not like you will have to study everyday to get good marks. You can score about 70% by just studying at the time of the exams.

Other: I chose this course because this will add a value to my current job and it's easy to pursue it from here with a full time job. The course can be more helpful if they provide us with the study material. There is no such thing as campus life or events here as we do not go to the campus.

I'm satisfied with the college.

Placements: Almost 800 students in the same course didn't get an internship. Our campus, due to COVID-19, didn't get in touch with the companies. In the BBARL programme, we learn about retail management, communication skills, and customer handling.

Infrastructure: Our college didn't provide regular classes or a classroom. There is no library at all, and also I didn't get any kind of online or offline class. Some of the study centres and regional centres they had, I don't have enough knowledge about them, and when I visit our regional centre, the staff are not helpful to me.

Faculty: I don't know about the teachers because I still haven't gotten in touch with them, so I'm not aware. Our course is good because it's very relevant and most of the learning is in the retail industry. The semester exam is not so difficult because all questions are based on the syllabus and curriculum.

Other: I chose this course because I love management studies and I'm passionate about learning about them.

Placements: About 60% of students from our course get placed. The highest salary package offered is 2.5 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 1 LPA. Top MNCs like Reliance, Tata Group, Infosys, etc., visit our college to hire students from our course. About 60% of students from our course got an internship. Roles like sales and marketing executive are offered in our course.

Infrastructure: I do not live in a hostel. I visit the college through my home. The canteen is available, and the food served is not much good enough. I want to complete my MBA with regular college so I can enjoy my college life!. Recently IGNOU is not a regular college, and it is an open university.

Faculty: Faculty members teaching is good. Teachers and professors are well-qualified. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are so much difficult. I think about 70% of students can pass the exams only.

Other: I want to know to learn more about business and marketing. I want to set up my own business or startup, so I have chosen this course, and after that, I will complete my MBA. There are great surroundings in our college. Overall, our college is the best.
