Q:   How successful is the placement cell in securing jobs for M.A. students at IGNOU?

A:
{Source: M.A. students & alumni}

Success Rate of IGNOU's Placement Cell for M.A. Students

Based on the reviews provided, it appears that IGNOU's Campus Placement Cell (CPC) conducts various campus placement drives, recruitment drives, job fairs, and employability enhancement activities throughout the year. While some students have participated in these events, there is no mention of significant success rates or guaranteed job placements for M.A. students.

Here are the key points summarized:

* Limited information: Reviews do not provide detailed information on the performance of the placement cell or the number of students successfully placed.
* Some participation: A few students have mentioned participating in job fairs and other placement-related activities, indicating some effort made by the university.
* No guarantees: Unfortunately, none of the reviews guarantee job placement for M.A. students or provide concrete figures on success rates.

Overall, while IGNOU's placement cell seems to make efforts to assist students in finding employment opportunities, the lack of detailed information and success stories suggests that the effectiveness of the cell may vary depending on individual circumstances.

Very best college for pursuing M.A.
Placements: For campus placements, students are eligible to sit for interviews and apply for jobs during the final semesters. A few companies that have visited the campus for placements in the last decade are: Line Group, Dabur India, Reliance Industries, Tata Motors, SPCL, and Infosys, to name a few. The highest package has been 18–20 LPA, and the average ranges from 8–12 LPA. Approximately 75% of students get placed in major companies in their first few years. In my case, I am preparing for the UGC NET exam to secure the minimum qualification for the post of assistant professor.
Infrastructure: No, I am not staying in a hostel but I know very well about the condition of the rooms and the food given to students in the hostel. The hostel provides separate rooms for every student but those rules, which are bigger, were shared by the two individuals. They know they don't have PG every month for food and login; it costs around INR 5,000. The food is good but not up to par.
Faculty: We have a semester pattern being followed and 4 semesters for 2 years of study. Each semester, we have 4 theory papers and 1 skill development paper. In the first year, we study the ancient history of the world and our nation. In the second year, we study the modern history of India and the role of history in the tourism department. We also have vivas at the end of each semester. The syllabus system motivates us to learn. Class size:-45 Course fee: INR 17000 per year.

The campus atmosphere is very good for students.
Placements: Almost 60% of the students got placed in our course. The highest salary package offered is 25 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 15 LPA. Almost 25–30% of the students got an internship. Our college teaches us about technology, infrastructure, business process and history-related things. The top recruiting companies for our course are Tata, Jio Reliance, Mahindra, and many others.
Infrastructure: Sorry, IGNOU does not provide any hostel facilities, and if I have to opt official, then I rate hostel facilities as low, with the worst condition, no safety and privacy and not even a good facility. Ragging is just normal and due to this, I rate hostel facilities at -10. External Expenses: Rs. 7000–Rs. 10000.
Faculty: The course structure is really good. It covers all the aspects of art (painting, sculpture, and architecture) and its history and also has a paper on aesthetics, iconography, etc. We have four papers per semester. We have a semester system. Every semester, we have semester exams and practicals. For internals, we have to submit assignments and we also have a number of SNAP tests. Class size;-60 The course costs INR 34000 per year.

Study material was provided by the university itself.
Placements: In our university, basically, a student became eligible for placement in the last year or last semester of his or her course. There are various private companies and organizations that visit our college for placement annually. Some of them were Redbus, Byju's, Unacademy, etc. Last year, about 53% were placed by these companies with great packages. The average annual package was 14 lacs, and the highest was 25 lacs by Byju's and Unacademy. I plan to become a professor or teacher at any university soon. There are quite a few other plans too, like currently preparing for the entrance exam.
Infrastructure: No hostel facility is available as this is an open college but yes, there are a lot of PGs available and most of the college personnel know about that so one can get help from them. The average rent of PG is INR 5,000 with the meal. Hostel Fee: INR 5,000 per year External Expenses: Rs. 2000–Rs. 4000
Faculty: I chose this course because I have an interest in it. There are 70 students and it is very crowded. Their faculty members are good at studying, and their teaching methods are very nice. There were 3 hours of timing in the examination. Class Size: 70 Course Fee: INR 7,000 per year.

Ignou- my Masters buddy !
Placements: I just completed my Masters in Hindi from IGNOU. During the course, our whole session was online; we got our study material books, and counseling classes were also there to help us in our study. At IGNOU, our self-taught teachers are always there to help and teach; they also helped us achieve our future goals and clear up all the confusion about the course. Avdhesh Panday sir is in the MHD program VNC, DU, or IGNOU.
Infrastructure: As already mentioned, my complete course was online; I never visited my college during my Masters, which was my best overall experience. I will never forget those golden days of my Masters degree. Even exams are not that tough, mostly due to assignments and books.
Faculty: My teachers were always so helpful and the best for us. They teach us something different, even more than their job. Thank you, sir. Mr. Avdhesh Pandey ji is our course counselor at VNC. And Dr. Santosh Panday, sir, in the final year, additional papers. I am just happy.
Other: I started in 2020 and completed my Masters in 2023; it was a great experience overall. Assignments are one of the most important parts of the course.

Infrastructure: There is a library facility available for the students. The college provides the medical facility available for the students at a free of cost. There is a Wi-Fi facility available for the students in classrooms as well as in the hostel rooms. The classrooms are big enough.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful in nature and guide the students for the future. The teachers are well qualified and have great knowledge of their subject. This course makes the students industry-ready. The exams are held semester-wise as well as mid-semester-wise.

Study material is of high quality.
Placements: IGNOU being a distance learning institute provides no support in placements. However, sometime some of the students are able to grab placements by contacting its central placement cell. I haven't applied for it, so I cant deliberate much on placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for my regional and study centre was good. Now it varies for all the centres. Other facilities like sports, access to library, medical facilities, wi-fi, labs are not provided in such centres. Classes are held on weekends here.
Faculty: The course curriculum is recognised and approved by UGC. Exams are held annually. There are 2 admission cycle in an year- July and January. The support in admission is smooth. Now it can be applied online. Study material provided by IGNOU is sufficient to pass exams.

The college has a relaxed dress code, and additional expenses include books. The college offers quality mess food, and attendance policies allow students to miss classes without penalty. There are no language restrictions on campus, and students from both home state and other states are represented. The academic schedule is easy, with fewer than five lectures per week, and teaching methodologies rely heavily on textbooks. The library resources are inadequate, but teachers provide students with supplementary materials. Security measures include guards and CCTV cameras, and outsiders cannot enter the campus without permission. Ragging is strictly prohibited, and students must seek permission to leave the hostel premises. Overall, the college provides accessible transportation options and a diverse learning environment.
