B.Tech. in Marine Engineering - Batch of 2022

Course is hard but plays off well.
Placements: All cadets were placed. Packages are similar and depend on the type of ship. Fleet and Anglo were among the recruiters. All students get internships at good companies like Synergy and Chevron. All were placed at the rank of Trainee Marine Engineer. The placement cell, which guides and supports you, consists of students and the head of the placement cell.
Infrastructure: You have the best workshop and Wi-Fi, and the labs are good. Hostels are okay, not the best, but they are still making new ones. The food is okay; you can select your food through the mess member elected by your batchmates. Faculty members are very helpful, even after college. There is an Olympic-size swimming pool and an instructor.
Faculty: Teachers are top-notch officers, especially the chief engineer and Ph.D. holders. The course is relevant and makes students industry-ready. You have to study for semester exams. In some semesters, all students failed one subject. Teachers are willing to teach.
Other: This course is tough, and life is hard. I wish I had studied more seriously. Many events were held, specifically Tempest and a lot of sports fests.

Top companies like NYK, Dynagas, Fleet Management, Synergy, and Chevron, etc. are offering good salaries and even giving training to cadets studying on the IMU Kolkata campus.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. The IMU Kolkata campus is a central university college, so it has its own good infrastructure. The IMU Kolkata campus has a football ground, basketball court, badminton court, volleyball court, etc. Medical facilities are good. The library has good infrastructure.
Faculty: Teachers on the IMU Kolkata campus are well-educated and have great capabilities. The quality level of faculty members at the Indian Maritime University Kolkata campus is very good. They are also knowledgeable and have good teaching skills and experience. Semester exams are a little tough.

Best college for marine engineering.
Placements: The placement is above average. More than 80% of cadets get placed every year in top shipping companies like CVRON, FLEET MANAGEMENT, NYK, TORM, MOL, and SYNERGY. Cadets also get opportunities in internships to develop their skills and experience.
Infrastructure: The campus is expanded to 33 acres. The classrooms and library are air-conditioned. Hostels are divided for different-year Cadets, which is well maintained and disciplined. Mess is totally hygienic and provide different seasonal vegetables and fruits.

Best return on investment college - IMU KC, best placement records, amazing campus life.
Placements: The placement scenario of Imukc is very amazing. Mostly 90% of the cadets get placed till the 4th year. Moreover, the company starts recruiting from 2nd year only. Companies that visit are Fleet Management, Dynagas Ltd, WSM, BSM, Pacific Basin, Chevron and many more. There is a dedicated placement cell each year that passes on the necessary information to their batchmates.
Infrastructure: Hostels are decent according to government colleges. In 4 th year you get a single room. The college administration building is fully air-conditioned and has all sorts of smart facilities. There are proper facilities for electricity and water 24/7. Different courts are the their for different sports like basketball, volleyball, badminton, football, etc.
Faculty: The faculty are amazing and strict most of them are college pass-outs so their experience helps a lot. They used to give proper guidance in physical and academic training. Semester exams are decent one must have to score a minimum of 50% on his paper to pass the exam. Colleges have workshops to give hands-on practice training which broadens the knowledge of cadets.
Other: I chose this course to become the best marine engineer from a government college. I wish some irrelevant subject should be removed from the course and instead more practical training should be there. College campus life is amazing it has good connections with the main city with cabs, buses rickshaws and many more. Our college named TEMPEST used to be held every year continuing various activities like cultural programmes, sports competitions, Science fest and many more. College offers some scholarships to financially weak students by pass-outs of our college and various government associations.

Placements: Placement is above average. More than 80 percent of cadets get placed every year. There is no concept of the highest package in this field. Cadets receive a stipend ranging from 500 dollars to 1000 dollars depending on the company. Top recruiting companies are M.Sc. FLEET, CHEVRON, SYNERGY.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good. Hostels are fully furnished, Wi-Fi connection is provided to all the years of cadets, classrooms are air-conditioned, and smart boards are also there. Libraries are also fully air-conditioned. The food provided by the mess is hygienic.
Faculty: Professor and faculty members are well qualified and knowledgeable. They are supportive to the cadets. The quality of teaching is really fantastic. The course curriculum is relevant to the field. The cadets get ready for the industry after completing the courses.
