I am satisfied with the college.

Placements: You will be recruited by the companies if you study well and have good communication skills. The college provides 100% placements. It is the world's second marine engineering college and the best in India. So, there is no reason for you not to get placed. DMET is not a college, rather is a brand. We have a huge workshop, and I think it is the largest workshop in India for a marine engineering institute.

The best marine engineering college in Asia.

Placements: Alumni base of this college is so strong that it makes every DMETian proud. It's our privilege to be a part of this college. Companies like M.Sc. NYK, Science, Fleet Management, Jessco, Anglo Eastern and many more visit the campus for placements. The placement cell of this college plays a vital role in placements, though the scenario has changed drastically in the past few years. You cannot imagine the salary of a marine engineer.

This college is very good for marine engineering.

Placements: Around 80% of students from our senior batch got placed. Placements for our batch are going on, and about 40% of students have been placed till now. Students will surely get a job if they work hard. The good thing is that the companies offering jobs to students are not focusing only on the percentage of students, but they are also focusing on the sports played by students.

Satisfied with the college.

Placements: The placements of my batch will start from the next semester I. e. the 5th semester and onwards. The placement of my senior batch was very good. Around 70-80%of them have been placed. Many different shipping companies visit our campus every year which includes NYK, ANGLO EASTERN, FLEET MANAGEMENT and many others. Yes there is a placement cell comprising of students and faculty members which look after the placements of the college students and is in turn very much efficient.

The college has good placements and the best faculty members.

Placements: Here, the placements are good. It has dropped to some extent in recent years, but still, it is around 68-70%. In 2017, around 155 of 250 cadets got placed. The companies which come to recruit are the best companies in the marine field. Some of them are NYK, fleet management, etc.

The college provides quality education.

Placements: Placement is okay, about 70 percent of the deserving cadets get placed by the end of the course. Many cadets are getting a job with the help of faculty members. The companies that come for campus interviews are quite good. Companies like NYK, AESM, Gesco Science, Fleet Management, Home and Science are some of the lead recruiting companies of the campus.

It is the best college for marine engineering with an average fee.

Placements: Every year, out of 250 students, more than 150 students got placed from the college. Other students got placed from another recruitment process. The students who do not have backlogs may get placed from the college. It is quite good than other colleges in India, regarding the fee. Placement got affected due to recession in shipping market during these days. Otherwise, it was holding a placement record of 100% in the previous 2-3 years.

The Best Marine college of India.

Placements: The placements till 2016, I. e. The seniormost batch before I joined had decent placements. Out of the 200 cadets 180 got their placements. In 2017, again 180 out of 220 of the 4th year students got a job from placements. The third year batch also has about 40 percent students placed already. Campus placements start here from the beginning of the 5th semester. This college is now far beyond its original bright days however. Placements are gradually decreasing. However, if you are serious enough,...

Just the name of this college is enough to explain.

Placements: Placement is almost 100% here and I think it is the worlds best college. Most of the faculty members are passout of this place so I think it is good for every cadet who takes admission here. Every company visit this college even those who are not related to marine field.

Imu Kolkata one of the best marine college in the world.

Placements: Placements are good when compared to other marine colleges. In our senior batch out of 208 cadets 180 have been placed in good companies like Nyk, Anglo Eastern, M.Sc. Essar, etc. There is a saying in our college that if you have all clear then you don't have to worry about placements.

College is awesome but the problem is shipping market today is flooded with engineers.

Placements: Placements now is not so good as there are too many marine colleges in india now and market is totally flooded with new marine engineers. Still it is not as bad as other private colleges. At least 60% placement is there in campus. Rest seniors and passouts of the college who are at good positions do help in off campus placement but still not enough.

The faculty members and placements are good.

Placements: The placement percentage was 100% for our seniors and our batch. All the cleared students got placed. Due to the students increasing in a marine field, the competition has increased a lot. There are still many good companies coming for placement, and deserving guys get the best of them.

It is the best institute in India for marine engineering.

Placements: Earlier placement for our college was the best at the time of our seniors. Now due to too much flooding of candidates in this field, it has declined a bit. But still, it is the best institute for B.Tech in marine engineering in India. All cleared candidates got placed.

A paramilitary college with good placements, a bit poor infrastructure, but good building.

Placements: You can check the college website, www.merical.com, you will find that the placement is nearly 100%, but this is not true because the website was last updated in 2008 and at that time, the placement was nearly 100%. But now, the placement is nearly 75%.

All in all a good campus. Focused on sports.

Placements: Considering current trend in marine sector, placement is pretty good here. Because of the college alumni most people get placed. Companies like fleet management, M.Sc. Science frequently take considerable amount of students. Nyk takes its cadets from 3rd year itself. Regarding placement a lot of things matter like studies, sports, activeness in college activities etc.

Completely satisfied with the college.

Placements: More than 70 percent candidates were placed, but be careful as the college does not allow you to sit for placement in case you have a supplementary paper. 130 candidates got placed from a total of 160 (approximately) candidates eligible for placements. Sports certificates have a huge value in this field. NYK shipping lines offer the best salary among the lot. If the latest placement cell is successful, then MAERSK lines could top the list.
