Satisfied with the facilities, placements, and scholarships.

Placements: This year, out of 202 students, 130 students have been placed by the college. The rest had to take placements from the outside. Nearly, all the students who were all clear after 7th semester have got placed. The companies that visited were NYK, Fleet Management, Science, M.Sc. Essar, and few others. The placed students will go on an internship for 6 months in the sea and will be paid stipend. NYK gave 450 dollars for the month, and Fleet Management offered 900 dollars for the month. If you think marine engineering, then this is the place for it.

Placements: The placement is approximately 70% for the 4th year cadets, but it's decreasing year by year as the intake of cadets has increased every year. For getting a good placement, you have to maintain a good academic record throughout your studies. There are big companies that visit our college for the campus placement like NYK, Thomes, Fleet Management, etc.

One of the oldest marine college in Asia with a beautiful legacy of its own.

Placements: Here, the placements are good with 70-80% assured placements. Some good companies from all over the world visit the campus for placements offering smart salary packages of around 20-30 lacs per annum on an average as a fourth engineer on the ship. The students from this college are special, and they are well-trained.

Everything is good but dissatisfied because of the faculty.

Placements: The placements of 2013 graduate batch were close to 90%. Since placements take place in 6th and 7th semester, in 2016, our placements percentage was close to 75%. The salary for the junior engineer or trainee marine engineer varies from Rs. 10,000 to Rs 70,000 monthly. Private companies give more salary. Companies like the Shipping Corporation of India, Mediterranean Shipping Company, Anglo Eastern Shipping, Great Eastern Shipping, American Prudential Line, Pacific IL and a few more visited for ...

It is the oldest marine college in India.

Placements: It is one of the oldest marine engineering colleges in the world. The college enjoys a magnificent legacy. The placement status of the college has always been above par. There was a time once when the college enjoyed 100 percent placement record. From the time the college has come under Indian Maritime University. Their placement states have gone down to 80%-85%. The fall in the stats can be attributed to the new set of guidelines by the university. According to which, one can sit for a placemen...

Faculty members very good, infrastructure quite good. Overall good college.

Placements: The placements scenario is good. The college offers about 60-70% placements through on-campus interviews, while it assists the rest of the students. Those who could not get inducted into companies through the college can approach various shipping companies in Bombay for placement purpose. The college provides recommendations, reference, no objection certificate(NOC), etc.

The best college to live your life with pride.

Placements: The college has great placement almost every eligible cadet get placed in a job. Earlier (DMET) it was more the 300% placement, but it's improving again and is still more than sufficient for an average performer to get placed without any hassle. From Government Nauratan Company Science to big MNCs like M.Sc. NYK, PIL, Anglo, Fleet Management, GESCO, THOM, Synergy, Chelship, MOL, Laurel, Essar, etc. visit the campus. The salary offered by all the companies are almost in same range, and the best p...

It is a good college to be a part of only if you are sure about marine field.

Placements: The placements are good if you keep scoring well in all the semesters. You need to keep on working on your studies and keep on performing in all aspects of securing an on-campus placement. Though if you don't get placed on campus, Mumbai is always an option for Marine Engineers.

The college standard is improving day by day.

Placements: The placement result of college is good as compared with other institutes if you were able to maintain your academic record clear up to 5 semesters your probability of getting placed in any company is very much higher because most of the companies approach to college after 5th-semester result. One more thing as compared with other colleges which are in this field already set criteria for students to sit in the interview is you should have minimum 70%. A better campus and better environment for Marine Engineering.

Placements: The placement is good and remarkable nowadays for the college. Previously, there used to be less number of cadets, so the placement was 100%, but now, it has approximately 90-95% in the campus and outside the campus in the shipping industry. From the 5th semester onwards, the placement starts on the college campus by various companies throughout the world.

If you want to be a good marine engineer, then I advice u to join this campus.

Placements: The placements on our campus are overall good. Previously, the placement was 100 percent of the outgoing batch, but due to the more intake of students on the campus, the placement has reduced to 60 percent. But, while comparing to other campuses, the placement ratio is very good.

Insight and review of MERI Kolkata.

Placements: The placements are good. More than 70% of an average are placed. This year, it has increased to more than 90%. Better direction and proper transparency in the management helped to revive old fame of DMET, thereby, increasing the placement records are significant. The companies which come for placement are M.Sc. NYK, Science, Essar, fleet, Chelaram, and others.

Absolutely satisfied with the college. There were good placements in 2016.

Placements: The placements are good compared to other colleges. Every year, 180 students out of 250 students got placed. It depends on the performance of the students. If you work hard in your study, and if you have a consistent score, then it is very easy to get placement. You need to be passed in the semester examination and achieve good marks to have a good rank.

It is the Asia's second best marine college.

Placements: The placement opportunities offered in the college are nice and almost all my seniors got placed in good companies like Anglo Eastern shipping cooperation limited, M.Sc, Essar, etc. We are the engineers, so we have to work in an engine room. It is a difficult task because the temperature of an engine room can also exceed 45 degrees.

The industry knows this institute's worth.

Placements: More than 25 companies hire cadets from MERI each year, of which 10 are on campus. The highest stipend I have seen is Rs. 70,000 per month with lowest of Rs. 13,000. The largest shipping companies such as Anglo Eastern, Nyk, Fleet, M.Sc, science, Great Eastern and many more visit campus almost everyone gets placed within 5 months from the last semester.

DMET- The best college for marine engineering aspirants.

Placements: The recruiters who visited our campus looked for both curricular and co-curricular participation of the students. The placement of the last pass-out batch was roughly around 80% which was kind of good as compared to other colleges. The students were offered the roles of junior engineer on the ship. Some of the major recruiters were NYK, GESCO, TORM, etc. The students got paid around 400-750 USD during the internship.

Placements: The placements are around 70-80%. The remaining includes the student with supplements and back papers. Last year, senior batch placements were around 75%. Companies like NYK, Anglo Eastern Shipping, Great Eastern Shipping, Fleet Management, etc. visit every year. There is a different intake in different companies. Packages are quite good. The highest package goes to 3500 USD per month and the average is around 2500 USD per month when you join the ship as a 4th engineer. Internships are provided ...

It is the officers choice if u are choosing this college.

Placements: The best campus for the campus placements. Top companies in the world visit the campus to recruit the students. The placement percentage is about 80% to 90%, which is quite good compared to different maritime colleges present in India. It is fixed or threshold salary which is offered by the companies. They can't give you less than that. It is about 1.25 lacs per month. The cadets will provide services in the form of engineer officers.

Placements: One of the best placement records in the Indian marine field. 170 students got placed out of 208 and the rest got placed by the strong alumni network of our college. Placements: The placements were good as compared to any college in India. All top class companies arrive at the campus, and almost all passed candidates are placed at my time. I have been placed in fleet management which is now among world largest companies. Shipping Corporation of India also visited in the campus for placements with intake of 50 members. BW, Anglo Eastern, MSC, Maersk, VRM, NYK Lines, and much more visited for campus placement, and all are among the best companies. Everything else about th...
