An inspiring college that blends academic rigor with personal growth, fostering future leaders.
Placements: 100% placement rate of the college. All eligible students are placed. Best companies with good packages. Top companies like MOL, BP, PIL, NYK, etc., recruit students. 60-70% of students got onboard internships. Engineering and mechanical roles in offices provide onboard opportunities.
Infrastructure: Medical facilities and other important facilities are provided on campus. Best infrastructure of the college for studying. Wi-Fi and labs are of good quality. Nice quality of facilities provided in the hostel. Very good mess food with different varieties. All types of sports are played in college. Different sports events are organized on campus.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is also nice. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant. Yes, it makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are a little tough, but college exams are average. Pass percentage is 90 and above.
Other: I chose this course because of different opportunities and interest in engine work. Best thing about this course is we can explore the world by earning and working only. Big events are celebrated and organized on campus. Scholarship is provided for students who are good in academics. Scholarship amount is ₹30,000 as a fee concession in their semester fees.

    Information About Tolani Maritime Institute.
Placements: Out of around 220 cadets in the 4th year, only around 40 are unplaced as they didn’t clear their backlogs. College placement is 100% for all eligible cadets who’ve cleared all their backlogs before sitting in the interview. Top companies are Wallem, BP, Stena Gas, Chevron, Carnival Cruise, Fleet, Synergy, MOL, etc.
Infrastructure: Medical support is available 24/7, and hostel life at TMI is the best part of the college, as students from all over the world interact with each other. Hostel mess food is better than any other college, and even faculty members come to have their lunch. The classroom environment is well maintained. Faculty are very supportive and give guidance to us.
Faculty: The faculty of TMI are well-experienced and also have sea sailing experience. They share their experience and knowledge with us, which they gained from the sea. Frequent tests are being conducted to test the performance of the cadets. If the performance is not good, extra classes are being provided to them.
Other: B.Tech in Marine Engineering is the future of the Merchant Navy, as after a few years, the deck side is going to be automated, and the demand for engineers on ships will increase. Events like Horizons and Transtech, as well as the Freshers' Party, are being conducted at the college.

Average college life of a marine.
Placements: The placement cell has done well to get big names on campus. The students have immense exposure to the field. Almost each student is placed at the end of four years. Placement starts in the first year itself. A cadet just has to score well and clear exams.
Infrastructure: There is a good collection in the library. Wi-Fi is replaced by LAN-able connections in each room in the hostel, which is a bit of a convenience. There are so-called many sports on campus but most are not given focus. It comes down to the main sports .
Faculty: Exam checking is very bad and there is a system of mass checking every year. It is almost deliberately failing students for money. The course itself demands a huge amount of effort, which is not justified. This is not worth it at all. The syllabus is vast and difficult .

I am very satisfied with the faculty.
Placements: Placements are great. Almost 100% of students got placed by the end of the course. Top companies in this field provide placements only at this college as it has made its name in the field of the merchant navy. The college itself doesn't allow below-average companies to offer placements.
Infrastructure: There are a total of 3 hostels and an attachment to H2 is the girls' wing. Hostels are great and provide a very good and hygienic mess. One can only complain about one thing which is washrooms but other than that the hostel services of Tolani are very good.
Faculty: Faculty members here are one of the most educated and disciplined people in this field. The reason TMI takes more fees than other colleges is because it offers a very great education from one of the best professors. The passing percentage is 50% which includes the internals.

Tolani Maritime Institute: What All You Need to Know About!
Placements: The eligibility criteria is to have zero back, but students can still get placed with a backlog, provided they clear it within the course duration. Many top-rated shipping companies like Wallem, Chevron, EPS, British Petroleum, etc. have visited the college to recruit from my batch, each taking on an average of 4 students each. The highest package for internship is around 10 Lacs, which can go up to 24 Lacs per annum after the first promotions. On average, a cadet is placed with a package of 7 Lacs. For my course, up to 96 percent of students get placed in on-campus recruitment. Top roles are engine cadets, deck cadets, or ETO on placement.
Infrastructure: In TMI, each year there is a sports meet that involves activities like cross-country, march-past, mass demonstration, football, basketball, squash, and other racket games. These are conducted in both semesters each year. We also have a cultural event named Horizons, which is conducted in the second semester of each year. It involves dance competitions, singing competitions, and other various competitions, along with a DJ night. The activities take place as a competition between houses. The library of our college is moderately equipped with both old and new books. The classroom is subpar, with a projector, blackboard, and wooden benches. The college offers over 30 sports facilities and 25+ club activities. There is an Academic Assistance Club meant to help students with academics and placements, run by the students themselves.
Faculty: The faculty in TMI are highly educated and experienced. Most of the faculty members are Ph.D. holders, and many are from the marine field (Captains, Chief Engineers, and other crew). Their teaching method is excellent, and we are able to finish most of our studies in college itself. The exams are held every 2 months on average with a moderate difficulty level. Though the exams are of moderate difficulty, 30 percent of cadets fail in at least one subject due to poor checking. Yes, the course is relevant to the industry; it teaches us all about marine machinery on board ships, and theory and practicals are done on them. We are also taught other helpful courses like carpentry, lathe operation, welding, fitting, etc. Yes, I think the course makes us industry-ready.
Other: I chose this course for the economic factor that comes with it. In this field, we are able to travel worldwide while earning a good amount, which is also tax-free. In TMI, each year there is a sports meet that involves activities like cross-country, march-past, mass demonstration, football, basketball, squash, and other racket games. These are conducted in both semesters each year. We also have a cultural event named Horizons, which is conducted in the second semester of each year. Review with actual truth and information.
Placements: Around 90% of students from final year got placed. Package differs from company to company but as an engine cadet, the range of package varies from 500-600 dollars per month. Top recruiting companies are Feet Management, Pacific Basis, OSM Home, MMSI, BW Shipping, MSI, and M.Sc Anglo Eastern. For internship, students are asked to look on their own in any workshop but through college, it can be referred as onboard training after a course for 6 months.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi availability is provided but the range varies. Labs are under maintenance. Classrooms are good with smart projectors, boards, and hygiene. But many of the classes do not have air conditioning. Library is good with AC and sitting arrangement. Quality of food in mess is good but the taste is not counted. Canteen is also provided. Sports facility is also good. Water shortage is there which may be addressed soon. Hostels for pre-sea cadets are under renovation as soon as they get ready students will be shifted there because currently, pre-sea cadets are staying in hostel for post-sea courses. Hostel of pre-sea cadets is provided with common washrooms on each floor. Around the campus ships undergo bunkering and de bunkering due to which air quality is not that much good. It is ragging free campus.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is good. Course curriculum is good but practical section should be more focused. Semester exams are same which are taught in class as per the syllabus. If students are prepared they can easily score good marks in exams that's why placement rate is good. Passing percentage is 35%.
Other: Annual events are Prayan - cultural cum technical fest, Udghosh - sports event, and annual magazines - propelling minds and Prakriti and Sea Scape. There are 6 clubs and 4 houses and it is an institute with good alma mater.
