Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Kakinada also known as JNTU Kakinada was founded in 2008 as a public university. The university has been accredited by NAAC with a Grade of 'A+' and approved by AICTE & UGC. JNTU Kakinada has received 151 Rank in the Overall Category by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2023. JNTUK is located in Kakinada, East Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh on a vast 110-acre campus. Currently, it has three constituent colleges such as University College of Engineering Kakinada, the University College of Engineering Vizianagaram, and the University College of Engineering Narasaraopet.

JNTU Kakinada offers courses such as BTech, BPharma, MTech, MPharma, MSc, MCA & MBA. Additionally, it also offers five-year integrated dual-degree master's programmes. JNTU Kakinada admissions are conducted based on entrance tests JEE Main, JEE Advanced, and GATE. Students selected on entrance exam scores are then called for counselling. Further, the university conducts university-level entrance exams for admission to MSc, Part-time MTech, MSc, MBA, PGDNT, External PhD, MPhil, MS Research & PG Diploma programmes such as APICET, TSICET, AP EAMCET, AP PGECET.
