Q:   Is LPU entrance exam hard?

A: 

LPUNEST is a national level exam for admission to various courses in Lovely Professional University. LPUNEST test forms the basis of eligibility for some programmes and also for the scholarship programmes. The amount of scholarship is determined by the marks and rank obtained by candidates in the exam. LPUNEST 2025 exam pattern elucidates the scheme of the question paper. Candidates seeking admission through LPUNEST 2025 must check the exam pattern prior to starting the preparation. LPUNEST exam pattern imparts details like total number of question, subjects, marking scheme, exam duration, etc. The entrance test is neither hard nor easy. Candidates must prepare well to score the qualifying marks in the entrance exam.

Q:   Will I get a direct admission in LPU with 65 % marks in Class 12?

A: 

No, Lovely Professional University does not offer direct admission. However, there are few courses to which admission is merit-based.  Aspirants scoring a 65% aggregate have a good chance of getting admission in LPU. Candidates seeking admission must visit the official website of the university to apply online. To apply for LPU, aspirants need to register for LPUNEST for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses. LPU admission to most of the courses is based on LPUNEST score. However, national-level entrance exam scores are also accepted for admission to BA LLB (Hons), MBA, BTech, etc. Candidates must complete Class 12 for UG courses and graduation for PG courses. The selection rounds are followed by counselling and document verification.

Q:   What is the last date for LPU admission?

LPU has released some of the important dates regarding admission 2025. The procedure to book LPU NEST 2025 exam slot can be checked here.  After completing the LPUNEST exam application process, the exam will be conducted as a remote proctored or test centre-based exam. The candidates can also check LPU NEST Exam Pattern and LPU NEST Syllabus here.

  • Application: The mode of application is online. The exam fee for LPUNEST is INR 1,000 for males and INR 500 for females. 
  • Selection rounds: The university conducts LPUNEST for shortlisting candidates for various courses. LPU also accepts national-level entrance exams like CAT, MAT, CLAT, etc. 
  • Admission confirmation: As soon as the selection rounds are over, candidates need to pay a fee to confirm their seat in the university.

Q:   What is LPU fees for BTech?

A: 
  • The total fee for BTech ranges between INR 4.5 lakh and INR 16 lakh. The fee is calculated based on the semester fee.  Admission to BTech course is based on LPUNEST or CUET UG score. After completion of the selection rounds, shortlisted aspirants need to pay the course fee to confirm their admission.

Q:   Can I get admission in LPU for BTech without taking JEE Mains?

A: 

Yes, candidates seeking admission to LPU BTech course can also apply via LPUNEST. Apart from accepting a valid JEE Main entrance test score, LPU also conducts the Lovely Professional University National Entrance and Scholarship Test (LPUNEST) for BTech admission. The score of candidates must be equal or above precribed percentage in JEE for exemption from LPUNEST. For scores below the prescribed percentage, candidates will be required to appear for LPUNEST. Only after qualifying LPUNEST, candidates can get admission to the BTech course. In case of JEE Main, candidates must hold the JEE scorecard for verification at the time of counselling.

Q:   Does LPU offer lateral entry to BTech course?

A: 

Yes, LPU offers lateral entry to BTech course. Candidates who have passed three year Diploma after Class 10 in any stream or two year Diploma after Class 12 in non-Medical stream and ELR or BSc (non-Medical) or BSc Computer Science and ELR with at least 50% aggregate can apply for BTech (LE) courses. Q:   What is the last date to apply for admission at LPU?

A: 

LPU applications are open currently. Lovely Professional University is currently accepting applications for UG and PG courses for the academic session 2025. Check other LPU upcoming events:

  • The last date for application and slot booking for BTech, BTech (CSE - AI and Data Engineering), BTech (CSE - Decision Science and Machine Learning), BTech (CSE - Software Product Engineering), PG Agri, PG Pharmacy and MBA programmes is Jan 15, 2025.
  • The test centre-based exam will be conducted between Jan 20, 2025, and Feb 5, 2025. However, the remotely proctored exam will be held between Dec 15, 2024 and Feb 5, 2025.

Q:   How can I apply for admission at LPU?

A: 

LPUNEST test forms the basis of eligibility for some courses and also for scholarship courses. The exam fee for LPUNEST (soft copy of LPUNEST KIT) is INR 1,000 for males and INR 500 for females. The printed LPUNEST Kit is INR 1,500 for boys and INR 1,000 for girls. Check out the following steps to fill out the LPU application form:

Step 1: Visit the official website of LPU and click on the ' Apply Now' tab at the top of the web page.

Step 2: Register on the official admission portal of LPU i.e. LPU ADMIT with basic details such as name, email-id, mobile no., state, gender and password). The email id used during registration will act as the username for the portal and the password needs to be set by the candidate while registering. Candidates can continue to apply for LPUNEST (for scholarship purposes).

Step 3: Pay the application fee and hit on the submit button to complete the application process.

Q:   How much is the LPU NEST 2025 application fee?

A: 
LPU NEST application form fee for male candidates is INR 1000 and for female candidates is INR 500. The application fee can be paid online if the application form is filled online. The application fee can be given as a demand draft if the application form is submitted offline. If the DD is not enclosed or DD is wrongly drawn the application form will not be accepted. The application fee has to be paid to submit the application form.

A: 

Lovely Professional University offers a scholarship scheme of up to INR 9.52 lakh per student.  In addition to this, scholarships worth over INR 100 crore were awarded in the last year. LPU scholarships can be availed in all the programmes offered in the University, ranging from diploma to PhD. Placements: In our college, around 95% of students got placed in good companies. The highest package was 1.2 crore. Top recruiters were Google, Microsoft, Amazon, etc. Almost 100% of students got internships in our college. We have great projects to work on. All thanks to our college.
Infrastructure: The facilities are great, Wi-Fi is available 24/7, labs with advanced technology are available, classrooms with AC are available, and almost every book is available in the library. We don't need to buy books from outside as every book is available in our college library. The hostels are no less than a home. We have decent rooms with 24/7 Wi-Fi facilities and also clean washrooms. The quality of mess food is great. We got a great variety in our mess food. Medical facilities, sports, and games facilities are available in our college.
Faculty: The faculty in our college is so helpful. Because of our faculty, I got placed in a good company. They teach us advanced things that are going on currently in the world. Semester exams are not that tough if you are focused, and teachers are very supportive. Overall, academics in our college are not that stressed as compared to other colleges. Truth About LPU and its faculty.
Placements: According to my experience at Lovely Professional University in our course, it is difficult to get good placements because the package value is very low. The university doesn't provide good placements in reputed companies. Students are also not very good so that they can get a good company as a friend in college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our course is pretty good. They provide good labs for practicals. Wi-Fi is good in our college. Every block has Wi-Fi. There is a canteen near every block where students can have good food from the street vendors and food outlets. The food served in the mess is not hygienic and good.
Faculty: Some teachers are very helpful and good. They solve students' doubts and try to guide them according to their personal experiences. Some of the teachers keep personal grudges with students. They even say that they fail students if they ask them doubts or for any kind of help. If we talk about the curriculum, it is good and relevant. It teaches students a lot of things and basics which makes them ready for placements. If we talk about exams, they are pretty good and difficult. To pass the exam, we need to score 40% of the mark.
Other: The crowd is a lot on campus. Students can attend multiple events on campus. In our course, some practical work should be available so that we can increase our knowledge. Our college should conduct some small competitions which help students to build confidence in their studies.

Placements: We won't say that there are no placements in LPU. They should upgrade the way of teaching and skills building. There are more sales placements in LPU. There are no technical placements. The placement success rate was decreased compared to previous years.
Infrastructure: LPU has the best infrastructure in India. It has the best Wi-Fi system on campus. It also has well-designed laboratories for the student's learning purposes. There are different categories in hostels. In some hostels food is alright but in some hostels not that much. Medical facilities are available and also provide the best encouragement in sports and games.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified by the certificates and not by their knowledge. Few teachers explain the concepts very well but few of them do not know how to speak in proper English. Semester exams are very difficult. The passing percentage is very low. Some students are dropping out due to non-clearance of exams and they are unable to clear.
Other: I choose this course because of my parent's burden. Regarding my course, nothing is best. Everyone says that CSE is good but those students who put their leg into the CSE course will get the real picture of CSE within 6 months.

Campus and infrastructure is great, faculty members are decent, come if you can compete.
Placements: As a fresher in my first year, I can't say much about placements yet. However, based on my interactions with seniors, placements seem decent, especially for those who work hard. The average package is around 6 to 7 LPA, and the highest is 33 LPA. To be eligible for placements, you need a minimum 7.5 CGPA in all 8 semesters, no record of unfair means, and no reappearances. Companies like Deloitte and EY hire LPU graduates from our branch, so placements are decent.
Infrastructure: Lovely Professional University is renowned for its infrastructure. The campus is beautiful, with cafes, food stalls, an entire mall, and dedicated sports facilities for cricket, football, hockey, and rugby. There's also an indoor sports complex with a swimming pool (chargeable separately, around INR 5,000 per year). The hostels are okay, but I didn't like the high cost (around INR 120,000 per year for a 4-seater room). I live in a rented room with friends for about ₹2,500 per month. The campus is mind-blowing, especially the Robo Park surrounded by gardens. Freshers will love it.
Faculty: The faculty members were average. They relied on PowerPoint presentations and lacked creativity. Some were rude, refusing attendance to students even a minute late. The curriculum was basic, repeating class 11 and 12 topics. I chose the BBA-MBA course, and our subjects were similar to previous classes. The semesters were filled with assignments and class tests, creating unnecessary pressure.
Other: LPU was my second choice after missing the IPMAT cutoff for IIM Indore by 3 percentile. I chose LPU for its 4-year integrated BBA-MBA program, affordable fees (around INR 12-13 lakhs), and positive alumni feedback. Events and fests are awesome, with performances by artists like Paradox and Anubhav Singh Bassi, but they are paid events. LPU has a cosmopolitan population, with students from all over India. Fests and celebrations happen regularly. Scholarships are based on LPU NEST scores; I received a scholarship and pay INR 98,400 per semester. LPU is renowned for sports, with 24 Olympians from the university. It focuses on extracurricular activities, with clubs for various interests housed in the Student Welfare Wing. If you want to enjoy college life, LPU should be your top priority.
