Q:   Can I join Nalanda University directly?

A:

There is no direct admission to Nalanda University; instead, you must go via their admissions process. A bachelor's degree with a minimum GPA of 55% or more is required; additional criteria, such as job experience, may apply to certain programs. Tests such as the TOEFL or IELTS are also required to demonstrate your English skills, if necessary. You must fill out an online application, upload documents, pay a fee, and supply personal and academic information. Candidates that make the short list go through a selection procedure that may involve an interview and an evaluation of their academic standing. Because admission is competitive, fulfillment of the requirements does not ensure admission.

A review on Nalanda University.
Placements: If reports are to be believed, students of the first batch were the only lucky ones to have this opportunity. It is also said that there were only a very few students in the first batch. As for now, it is clearly stated that there are no placement arrangements by the University. Students, who complete their course in May, have to struggle for opportunities. Although, you could get links for fellowship, research project etc. Most of the professors are really helpful and supportive but there are no placements provided.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure in all could be rated 3.5 out of 5. The students of the present are of the Interim campus which is large enough located very close to the main market of Rajgir town. All the five hostels and the Interim campus, are fully equipped with Wi-Fi but mostly don't work when students need it the most (during exams). The classrooms are good and air conditioning provided ( a big relief). The library offers ample of primary and secondary historical texts on religion, history, language, philosophy etc. and also provides access to the virtual library where you get many good books on loan and some able to be downloaded. The canteen is not very huge or fancy, but it's a decent one. The quality of food is also good, but the food at the hostel is the same like most of the other hostels in India ( personal review).
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified, knowledgeable, agreeable, helpful and good in nature. Some teachers are not up to the mark, even after being more qualified. The teaching method used in here is, research method, which is fun and interesting. The student to teacher ratio for our batch is 5:13 respectively. The course curriculum is good as it covers many aspects of religion and philosophies in case of Buddhist study course.
Other: The tuition fee is Rs. 28,000/- per semester, the meals Rs. 18,000/- per semester, the rooms Rs. 12,500/- and Rs. 30,000/- according to your requirement. Rajgir is a beautiful place to live.
