MGKVP Varanasi Highlights 2026
Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith was established in 1921. It has three campuses, that is, Gangapur campus, NTPC campus and Bhairav Talab campus. Besides these campuses, the university also has 10 faculties, four institutes and more than 30 departments in its campus at Varanasi. It further possesses a total of over 350 affiliated colleges in six districts, i.e. Varanasi, Chandauli, Bhadohi, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra and Ballia. MGKVP University varanasi provides a number of degree, diploma and certificate course in various streams, including Management, Science, Fine Art etc.

Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith is a public university located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. Established in 1921, as Kashi Vidyapith and later renamed, it is administered by the government of Uttar Pradesh. It received 'University' status in 1974 as Deemed to be University and State University status in 2009. The university has more than 400+ affiliated colleges spread over six districts. It is one of the largest state universities in Uttar Pradesh, with hundreds of thousands of students, both rural and urban.
CUET UG 2026 exam will be conducted in May/June for 37 subjects. The mode of examination is CBT (Computer Based Test). NTA did not release official notification for CUET UG date sheet. Candidates can know exam details through CUET UG information bulletin. NTA will conduct CUET UG 2026 exam in multiple phases depending upon the number of candidates registering for the exam. Registered candidates can know the exact CUET UG exam on hall ticket. Candidates will have to report at the alloted exam centre on the day of the examination. The exam will be held in two slots each day depending upon the subject combinations chosen by the candidate.
National Testing Agency re-commenced CUET 2026 registration on February 23, 2026. Soon after the release of the CUET notification, candidates can check the important dates about CUET 2026. The last date for CUET 2026 registration was February 26, 2026 (11.50 PM).
Candidates were required to fill the CUET application form within the given time frame, failing which no request for extension of the CUET registration last date will be entertained. NTA does not provide the window for late fee payment. CUET 2026 application process is in online mode. No physical copies of the CUET application form must be sent to the authorities.
The CUET PG 2024 exam is administered by the National Testing Agency, or NTA, for the academic year. NTA launched the online application process for CUET PG 2024 on December 26, 2023. Candidates will have access to the official website in 2024 to finish their CUET PG application. Using a credit/debit card, net banking, or UPI, prospective candidates for the CUET PG 2024 may finish the registration form by February 10, 2024, up until 11:50 PM. The rectification window for CUET PG 2024 applications commenced on February 11, 2024, and it ended at 11:50 PM on February 13, 2024, three days later.

The placement drive for the 2024 season at Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith University has ended, but the placement report is still pending. However, the NIRF report for 2025 has been published. A total of 592 students achieved placements during Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith University placements 2024.
- Overall 510 UG 3-year students were placed during Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth Banaras placements, the average package reached INR 3.50 LPA.

- Scholarship for College and University Students:
Students get maximum scholarship of INR 2,000 per month based on their Class 12 marks. The scholarship of INR 1,000 is offered at the Graduation level for the first three years and INR 2,000 per month at the PG level. Students pursuing professional courses get scholarship of INR 2,000 per month in the fourth and fifth year.
- Post Matric Scholarship for SC/ ST Students
All SC/ ST students who have completed Class 10 are eligible for this scholarship. Under this scholarship, the students will get a maintenance allowance, reimbursement of compulsory non-refundable fees, study tour charges, thesis typing/ printing charges for research scholars, book allowance, book bank facility for specified courses and more.
- National Means cum Merit Scholarship
Students, who have successfully completed Class 8 with 55% aggregate (50% for SC/ ST students), are eligible for this scholarship. The selection of students is done basis state-level exam in Mental Ability (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). The maximum amount of the scholarship is INR 6,000 per year.
- National Scheme for Incentive for the Girl Child for Secondary Education
This scholarship is awarded to all girl students who have completed Class 9 from any school or Class 8 from KGBV. The scholarship is given for two years with an amount of INR 3,000 per year.
