If you want to pursue a PhD degree in future can go for M.Tech in NIT Silchar.

Placements: For M.Tech scholars, placements are not taken seriously. Companies are visiting, and M.Tech scholars are allowed, but it is rare. No scholar neither from our batch nor our seniors got placement. Not only the college authority but also the students in M.Tech batch are responsible for zero placement. In internships, one can get monthly stipend on time and can get extra Rs.10,000 for project works.

Infrastructure: Every hostel is equipped with Wi-Fi facility and has good accommodation facility. Based on CGPA, one can take single room in 2nd year. College has one of best digital library in asian. Medical facility is superb, one can get doctors a d ambulance service on time. Labs are okay. There is no infrastructure related issue at all.

Faculty: All teachers are highly qualified, but the teaching technique is like you are in B.Tech, not M.Tech. During my time, there are some irrelevant subjects with irrelevant faculty. The student-faculty ratio is okay. They do not provide industry exposure. Students are not allowed for doing an internship or project from outside the college. The course curriculum is not useful.

Other: Gymkhana is the student body which organises technical and cultural activities every year. The campus is spread wide on approximately 700 acres, and greenery prevails everywhere.

I am satisfied with college, and I suggest for B.Tech students it is a good college.

Placements: For M.Tech students, placements are not good for core branches, but it's good for computer science branch. For CS branch, many software companies like Wipro, Infosys, Oracle, etc., visited our campus. So, there is a hope to get placed for CS branch but not for other branches. For core branch, hardly 1 or 2 company came at my time. Internship facility is not provided. There is a placement cell, but it is more effective for B.Tech students.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure is quite well. All essential facilities are available like a library, Wi-Fi and good medical facilities. There is exposure to take part in games or sports in which you are interested. There is exposure to every cultural activity, which helps a lot in your personality development. Food and hostel rooms are also good. I have not faced any infrastructure-related issues.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, and some are nice. They have good teaching skills. Industry exposure is not provided. Since in our branch, only one specialisation is available. The course curriculum is useful in every way. It helps you to choose the 2nd-year M.Tech project according to your interest.

Other: Many events and fests are organised in a year. Campus surrounding is very nice. They provide scholarship facility, and there is a lot of extra-curriculum activities to take part.
