Regretting my decision to take admission to Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh.
Placements: Earlier, the placement cell was good, but now, due to the ongoing recession and the college's low NIRF ranking, not many companies prefer to come. Those that do come do not offer a high package. For the civil branch this year, only two companies came, offering a package of 6-7 LPA. None of the students got internships in civil companies from the placement cell and had to go for off-campus opportunities. The top role offered was that of a graduate engineer trainee position.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very poor as it has not been repaired for a long time. Occasionally, painting is done only in areas visible to the chief guests called upon in our college. Classrooms are infected by termites, and provisions for AC are not there. The food quality of the mess is good and hygienic. Facilities for sports and games are also provided.
Faculty: All the teachers are highly qualified, but the curriculum followed is now old and should be updated with changing demands. Being old, the curriculum does not make the students industry-ready, and students have to manage it themselves. Semester exams are easy to moderate, and because of relative grading, it is easier to pass.

Above average college, decent faculty, good placements, decent infra and facilities.
Placements: In 2023, almost 65 percent of the students in the Electrical Engineering branch were placed, which is far better than many NITs in that year. Top companies recruiting include Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, JP Morgan, and many more. The highest package in 2023 was around 60 lakhs for the CS branch.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is okay and sometimes works. Hostels are not very pleasing, but it doesn't matter as people around you make it worth it. Mess food is quite low quality in some hostels. Sports facilities are good if you have represented any of the sports. The labs and classrooms are decent.
Faculty: The semester-wise fee is 94,000, and the hostel fee is 80k. The teachers in the college are decent, and some professors are really qualified. Semester exams are quite difficult. The course curriculum for the Electrical branch was revised this year and is now industry-ready.
Other: Pecfest is the only fest in the college. The campus is located in Chandigarh, a good place to travel, and you can often travel to Himachal during your holidays.

Old infrastructure, decent study, and good placements.
Placements: For civil engineering, nearly 50% of students are placed through the college. The highest package is somewhere between 24 LPA, and the minimum package is 3-6 LPA. The top company is L & T, and there are many others too, which are good ones. The maximum internship package is 50k, and it's decent too.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is old and has not been renovated. For the first year, there is a new building; otherwise, it's an old building. Wi-Fi is good and available everywhere in the college. The library is decent, too. Food is not good in the mess, like at every other college. The game facilities are also good.
Faculty: For studies, it's also a good college. Teachers are helpful, and the course is very relevant. The study is neither too tough nor too easy. It's decent and can be easily passed even if listened to in class. Teaching quality is good, and labs are available for practical experience. Industrial tours are also part of the curriculum.

My college is a very good college.
Placements: My percentile of JEE Main exam is 87. My college's highest package is 1.2 Cr. And my branch's highest package is 40 LPA, and the average package is 15 to 20 LPA, and the lowest package is 12 LPA. All companies are coming to my college. And higher the good placement.
Infrastructure: My college's infrastructure is very high, and the hostel fee is 80 thousand for the 1st year. And the college fee is 1 Lakh 13 thousand rupees for the 1st year. But lab, Wi-Fi, classrooms, and facilities in your hostel, the quality of food available in the mess and canteen, medical facilities, sports, and games are very beautiful.
Faculty: My college's teachers are very helpful, qualified, and have higher knowledge. The teaching quality is the best of any other college. This is my experience. The curriculum follows the new pattern, and this is the most important. Yes, most of the time, the semester exam is difficult.

The college is great if you lie in this rank range.
Placements: The placements in circuit branches are on par with many of the IITs and NITs; however, the non-circuit branches are another story altogether, with the exception of aeronautical engineering; the rest all are good but not great (but still much better than the rest of the competition at this rank range).
Infrastructure: Hostels are pretty shitty, rest all facilities are great and work smoothly, the library however is not 24x7, but it does stay open till late during exams of any sort. We have a wide variety of books, a market inside the college for easy access consisting of restaurants, banks, a post office, and stationary shops.
Faculty: The profs are mostly PhDs from acclaimed universities, mostly IITs and NITs. The course curriculum is very relevant. We even have robotics as a subject in our 1st year (mechatronics). The midsems are not that difficult, but endsems are surely difficult.

Pec Chandigarh: Deemed to be University.
Placements: 70% of students were placed last year. This year, placements are low due to the recession. Top recruiting companies include JP Morgan and American Express. Top roles offered are SDE, data analyst, CADP, and finance roles. Almost 50% of students received internship offers, and some even got PPOs.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is average, with Wi-Fi facilities all over the campus. Classrooms are air-conditioned with smart boards. Hostels are average, as expected from government colleges, but the mess food is decent, with a variety of dishes available.
Faculty: Most faculty members are serious about their core subjects, though first-year subject teachers are a bit relaxed. Most faculty have PhDs from IITs and foreign universities. The course curriculum is relevant to modern needs and flexible, with the college making timely updates. Semester exams are not too tough, and most students pass them.

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.
