Other than the RUET 2023 exam pattern and marking scheme, students have to stick to the prescribed syllabus. Questions related to the subject section will be asked from what one has studied in their class 12 (For UG), Graduation (For PG), Post-graduation (For PhD).

The RUET exam syllabus for undergraduate programmes is based on UP Secondary Board Syllabus and Higher Senior Secondary & Senior Secondary Syllabus (Class 11 & 12). The syllabus is as follows:

The questions asked will depend on the course one has applied for:

For Undergraduate Courses: For the course applied for, the candidate has to study what they have learnt in their class 10, 11 & 12. For Science, the candidate needs to study Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Mathematics. For Commerce, the candidate needs to study Economics, Finance, Management, Business Studies. For Humanities, candidates need to thoroughly learn the subject applied for such as for Political Science it is Civics and Political Science. For English, it will be grammar and literature.

For Postgraduate Courses: The candidate will have to stick to the subjects learnt in their graduation, if the candidate is applying for the same course in their postgraduation. If the candidate is applying for a different course, the candidate needs to get the prescribed syllabus for the course.
