Placements: The only companies that visited for hiring engineering graduates were from the IT sector. TCS is one of the main recruiters here. If someone does want and has above average communication skills, would get easily placed in one of the campus drives. The training and placement officer is having limited contacts with corporate people which can be seen when the campus drive starts. However, since it's one of the biggest universities in the state of Jammu & Kashmir, most of the companies visiting won'...
Placements: Placements in the college were satisfactory but could be improved. The highest salary package offered was about 12 lacs per annum, and the lowest was 3 lacs per annum. TCS, Wipro, Orange, Tech Aspects, Samsung and some marketing companies visited the campus for placements. The internship programme can also be improved, and the placement cell played a vital and significant role in placements.
Placements: The university provides a lot of facilities for the students to study. If you properly use those facilities and work hard, you can crack any exam. The university pays for your exams like UGC NET and CSIR NET, and you can get a contractual job as a teacher after your M.Sc.
Placements: The placements provided in our college are probably the best in Jammu. We can't compare it with other colleges, but our college is ranked 94 by MHRD, which definitely affects the placements of upcoming batches. One of the companies which usually visit the college is TCS, but you should prefer off-campus placements as well.
Placements: Many prestigious companies visit college near completion of the degree. The salary package depends upon the profile and the companies which are hiring. Among 50 students 30 students get placed in different companies, and the rest of students were not interested in doing the job as early or there where other reasons.
Placements: Placements was good our seniors got around 80% placements. And in our batch till now 40 students are placed and 2 more companies are coming in this month. Our batch have 60 students. The highest salary was 5.5 LPA and the lowest was 3.5LPA. Companies visited are Mahindra first choice, Mahindra Logistics, Icici Bank, Icici prudential, HDFC Amc, HDFC bank, Coca Cola, ceasefire, peoplite, Sonalika tractors etc. They give role of business trainee, Logistics manager, personal banker and according to ...
Placements: The placements were quite underrated before, but now it is getting better day by day. The last year batch got great placements in HCL, Indian Navy and Tata. Even Hewlett Packard came to recruit engineers. About 40 engineers were selected in the first round and were provided with a package of 5.5 LPA.
Placements: Placements is not the strong point of the college currently. There are lots of companies but the package is not good. 3.2 LPA is what most of the companies will provide, although some provide more. Also, there is a placement cell where they train students for placements. Internship are encouraged in the college. All the teachers encourage students to go for internships out of the state in summer vacation and especially for 4th year students.
Placements: There are no placements in SMVDU for B.Arch course. However, my B.Tech batchmates were placed in TCS, Nestle among the other MNC. No internships are offered from the college. The students gather for their internships. In B.Arch, a 6-month internship is mandatory in the 5-year course, but the college doesn't help with this, and the students acquire their internships.
Placements: Since it is a new university and has not had that much of history and technical experience, many companies find it a little too early for a tie-up with this university but still, companies like Adobe, Xilinx, TIS and many more are coming for placements. About 75% of my seniors got placed and are getting an average salary of about 50 to 60 thousand rupees. The highest offer was 75000 and the lowest offer was 30000.
Placements: The average package went for around 3.7 LPA until the last year offered by the mass recruiter, Wipro. From this year, since the college has been upgraded to rank B by TCS, hopefully, from this year the average package can be expected to be around 4.5 LPA. Other recruitment companies which also visit are Orange, Tech Aspect, etc.
Placements: We do not get placements through the college. Students used to apply on their own for getting a job or internship. The stipend which a student gets during the internship period is between 2000 to 10000. After completing the degree, the average salary which is offered is around 20000.
Placements: Maximum students apply out of the campus because the companies' salary is not good. It is about 4 to 5 lakh per year only. TCs, Wipro, Indian Navy and some small companies also visited here. The percentage of students that got internships from the college is 60%. The highest stipend is 10 lakh, average 4 lakh and the lowest is 3.1.
Placements: The placements are miserable in the mechanical department. There are companies offering placements for computers and the electronics departments, but we do not get any core company for the mechanical department. There are companies like Wipro or TCS offering placements to mechanical also but these cannot be considered as good placements. Currently, there is only one company that offered placement in the mechanical department offering a package of 15000 per month in Delhi-NCR. 5 students are plac...
Placements: Placements are average for mechanical engineering students. 20 to 25% placements are there for mechanical students. I am a final year student of SMVDU and I am facing the same problem of placements. The highest placement package was offered to one of my close friends at 4 lakhs and the average package is 3.5 lakhs.
Placements: A decent amount of companies visited our university for placements in the year 2014 and 2013. Companies like TCS, L&T Infotech, Nestle, HCL, Capgemini, Orange, etc recruited 80% of the total eligible students and provided an average of 3-4 LPA package. Maximum being 5.6LPA by Orange. SMVDU is a good place for students opting for internships as a large chunk of students were selected for the summer internship in the year 2014. They were hired for various summer projects with an average stipend o...
Placements: For the previous batch placement was good- about 80%. For our batch the placement was not up to the mark and was about 60%. The highest salary paid was Rs. 3.6 lacs pa and the lowest was Rs. 3 lacs pa. There were many companies that came to my college, but I can't actually remember the name. Most of the companies were from IT sector. Almost all the students of our batch got internship at different places depending on their specification. I don't have any idea about the highest stipend but as fa...
Placements: On campus, there are about (20-30)% students (for mechanical engineering) who are placed every year. Apart from mechanical engineering, there are about (50-60)% students who are placed every year. The highest package offered- 4 lakhs. Lowest package- 3.3 lakhs. Name of companies that offered jobs: 1. TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) 2. WIPRO 3. ORANGE 4. Indian Navy 5. Indian Army 6. Textile Jammu Sometimes, there are also lots of companies that come and provide a good package. ...
Placements: About 60% students from senior batch got placed and around 30% from our batch are placed till date. Salaries offered were between 3-4 lac per annum for students placed in Wipro, TCS and L&T Infotech. Some were recruited by Army, Navy and Airforce. Overall, placements are quite good if students co-operate with the Training & Placement Officer. Whereas, no internship from the college was given. We had to search for the internships on our own. Some students were offered internship in the college bu...
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University is arguably the best engineering institution in J&K. The campus is lush green, situated in the valley of Trikuta hills, where you will find nature at its best. Hostel facility is better than most of the NITs where most of the rooms offered have single occupancy. Central library contains all important books. Book bank facility is available. Faculty is, of course, frank & cooperative. There is an academicals bind in the institution. There are no reservations and a...
