The best university is Sikkim University.
Placements: In our college, the final and last semester students are eligible for campus placement, and our college has provided us with excellent placement opportunities. The package offered is impressive at 12 Lacs per annum, attracting many big companies to visit our campus.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our hostel is excellent, featuring a spacious building and a large playground. The room facilities are top-notch, and the food service is outstanding, providing healthy and high-quality meals with a variety of food items in the mess.
Faculty: The M.Sc. course is fascinating, and I have been passionate about this field since my school days. I chose this course due to the additional courses offered by our college. The teaching environment is conducive to learning, with highly educated and qualified teachers, some of whom hold Ph.D. degrees in their respective fields. They employ innovative teaching techniques, facilitating fast-paced learning. Exams are conducted at the end of every semester by the authorities.

Great labs and quite nice coverage in the curriculum.
Placements: In our university, the percentage of students that got placed in the M.Sc. in Botany is just average, which is 50–60%. The highest package that was offered to only a few students was around Rs. 4.5 lakh per annum. The top recruiters included research institutions and NGOs.
Infrastructure: The department was well-equipped for plant physiology, anatomy, microbiology, etc. The classrooms also had projectors and internet access for presentations and slide aids. There were hostel facilities with both single occupancy and double occupancy available.
Faculty: The main focus was research and academics the curriculum covered different areas like plant diversity, physiology, ecology, and genetics, and other major elective options in the second year were provided to the students for their research project.

The best university of my life, Sikkim University.
Placements: I will have completed my Masters in Physics from Sikkim University in 2024. About 10% of a batch of 50 students were placed. The package was in the range of 4-6 LPA. The top recruiters were coaching centres like Aakash, Physics Wallah, and Bansal. About 10% of the students got internships, which included paid internships in different countries such as Taiwan and China. A Masters in Physics opened multiple opportunities for the students to pursue their careers in different fields, such as research work, teaching professions, and engineering.
Infrastructure: The hostels are really good, and some old hostels are bad. Hostel rooms have two beds, a chair, a study table, almirah, fans, no AC. There are also washing machines and dryers on every floor. Mess food is average. They serve food 4 times a day, and the menu keeps changing every day and every week. They offer fruits, eggs, milk, bread, and other things also. Hostel registration is done along with academic registration only.
Faculty: I want to become a faculty of botany, so I chose the Masters in Botany course for my higher studies. The curriculum prepares students to gain good knowledge about the subject to deliver the knowledge to other students after completion. However, it would be more beneficial if some NET/SLET-based guidance was provided along with the course.

My overall experience was really fun and stimulating.
Placements: They have a placement cell where you have to register yourself to get updates about companies. Most of them are IT and management-based companies. The job profile was basically that of a salesperson. Many new companies have approached for placement. The minimum package offered by most of them is more than 2 Lacs.
Infrastructure: The hostel facility is decent and worth the value for money, considering the mountainous terrain of the state. The hostel is available as a 2, 3, and 4-seater/sharing room. The fees for the hostel are on average 8k per month, including the mess food. I have heard there are many new buildings in the making that will provide more comfort for the incoming students, making them feel right at home. In case the hostels get filled up, there are PG facilities available just around the college with monthly fees around 8-10k, along with food.
Faculty: I chose botany because I have always had an interest in sciences related to life but rejected Zoology because I cannot handle the dissection of animals. Botany is also the subject I love the most, and its practical aspects are easy to perform at home. I have a special interest in medicinal plants. The faculty is sufficient to take classes for both years, with three teachers for two classes. So, I can say the ratio for faculty to students is nearly 1:25. The teachers are well-qualified with Ph.D. and qualified in SET, GATE. Teaching methods are good, relating to day-to-day life and keeping the focus on the syllabus. Examinations are held every 2nd month, and in between these tests are also conducted. Examinations are moderately challenging with a mix of tough and easy questions. Class size: 60 Course fees: INR 8000 per year.

I would recommend joining this college.
Placements: Our college is well-known for its placements. You can apply for placements in the final year of your course. Our college does not provide many placement offers. The highest salary package offered is 15 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 2 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very good. All hostels are on campus. The food served in the mess is very good. The mess provides food two times a day. Wi-Fi is available for our studies.
Faculty: There are around 7 teachers in our course. Our teachers are highly qualified. They are excellent in their respective fields. They help us a lot. They clear all our doubts and make our studies easy.
Other: I chose this course because it has good teachers. There are around 25 students in each class.
