It is crucial that each aspirant fulfil the minimum eligibility requirements. Candidates further shall have studied the relevant subjects to the MPlan specialisations. SPA Delhi allot seats to the eligible students on the basis of their scores in the accepted entrance examinations.

Candidates with a valid BPlan/BArch/or any other bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or organisation are eligible. In addition, the candidate should have studied the relevant subjects in the degree course as well. The aspirant shall have the pass certificates with them at the time of MPlan course admission as well for verification purposes.

Candidates seeking admission to the SPA Delhi MPlan course must have a valid score in either of the accepted entrance exams - GATE, CEED, or UGC NET. However, students must note that the entrance test scores are not the deciding factor. The selection depends on various other factors too, including performance in the qualifying exam, a portfolio of work, personal interaction with faculty and/or a written test, interest and motivation for the chosen study, and work experience.

• Bachelor's degree and certificate
• Passport-size photographs in JPG/JPEG format
• Scanned image of candidates’ signature
• Caste certificate (if applicable)
• Domicile certificate (if applicable)

Once the prospective candidates have applied for the SPA Delhi MPlan programme, the admission committee begins with the shortlist process. Candidates who have good academic records and meet the set cutoff in entrance exams are invited for the interview round. In this round, a panel of interviewers evaluates students based on their portfolio of work/thesis/projects, work experience (if any), and the SOP.

SPA Delhi was ranked in the fourth position by NIRF in the Architecture category. Hence, it tops many of the NITs except for NIT Calicut. Thus, the School of Architecture and Planning is preferred by many students. The placements at the school are also decent, in 2021, BArch students received a median package of INR 5 LPA.
