(DISCONTINUED JULY 2023)B.Tech. in Horticulture - Batch of 2018
Offered by Tamil Nadu Agricultural University
3.4
2Placements4Infrastructure4Faculty4Crowd & Campus Life3Value for Money
Our senior batch went for many industrial tours, but we have less knowledge of the course.
Placements: Reliance fresh, Tamarai Landscapes, Pazhamudhir Nilayam, etc., came for placements. The lowest salary offered was Rs. 10,000, and the highest salary offered is Rs. 18,000, mostly offered by oreCuluture. 40% of the internships offered are unpaid ones. The internship is better and useful for further studies only. The internship has a great path after completing the course. We can join the same company or any other related to that, but it will be very nice if we choose the internship for other places and states. We are from the horticulture technology, so we get much exposure.
Infrastructure: In our department, we don't have any proper furniture, the classrooms were good, but no proper ventilation. Labs are well-equipped with machinery and other facilities. The faculty and their teaching are much better. They use both presentations and board for teaching. The practical experience provided is far better. The outdoor class and educational tours are organised. The college has the best library in Tamilnadu. All books of postgraduation, civil services and competitive exam books are provided. The hospital provides treatment with all minor problems, and immediate first-aid is available. The college playground is of 5 acres in land. Both football and basketball courts are available. All kinds of sports meets are conducted. A swimming pool and gym with all equipment are provided.
Faculty: The course provides much knowledge about the practical field. We got good experience working in fields, but no technology is used or developed. Both presentations and board teaching methods are used. In our batch, we got less industrial exposure and business-oriented knowledge, as the course itself is a development course.
Other: Sangamithra, Club inauguration, Biotech, Transpire, Agprune, hostel day, interactive session, the guest lecture, and foreign meets are conducted in the college.
