Q:   Is The Neotia University good for B.Sc.?

    A:
    {Source: B.Sc. students & alumni}

Infrastructure: The university's infrastructure is subpar, with old and poorly maintained classrooms, washrooms, and hostels. The hostel conditions are particularly bad, with complaints of cockroaches being served with dinner and dirty floors.

Faculty: While the faculty members are generally well-qualified and knowledgeable, some students have reported difficulties in communicating with the administration, particularly the HOD.

Placement: The placement scenario for the B.Sc programme is poor, with only around 15% of students getting placed, and the majority opting for higher education or research. The highest salary package offered is around INR50,000 per month, and the average salary is around INR25,000 per month.

Internship: Around 40-50% of students get internships in organizations like NIMHANS and Apollo, but these may not lead to permanent employment.

Other factors: The university has a limited number of labs and classrooms, and the library is understocked. The canteen serves average-quality food, and the hostel mess is also mediocre. The university has a swimming pool, gym, and sports facilities, but overall, the campus life is not particularly impressive.

In conclusion: Based on the feedback from students and alumni, The Neotia University seems to fall short in terms of infrastructure, placement, and overall experience. While the faculty may be knowledgeable, the administrative issues and poor facilities may deter students from choosing this institution for their undergraduate studies.

Note: These findings are based on the information provided and may not reflect the complete picture of the university. It's essential to conduct thorough research and consult multiple sources before making a decision.

Q:   How effective is the placement cell for B.Sc. courses at The Neotia University?

    A:
    {Source: B.Sc. students & alumni}

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.Sc. Courses at The Neotia University

    * Unfortunately, the placement cell for B.Sc. courses at The Neotia University seems to be lacking in terms of providing placements and internships to students. According to students, until now, no internships were offered, and none of the students opted for internships provided by the college.
    * One student mentioned that the college did not offer any placements and internships, which is concerning since students rely heavily on these opportunities to gain hands-on experience and secure jobs after graduation.
    * Another student expressed hope that the college might start offering placements and internships in the near future, acknowledging the importance of these opportunities in preparing students for the workforce.

Overall, the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.Sc. courses at The Neotia University appears to be limited, with little to no effort made to provide students with placement and internship opportunities.

The Neotia University (ICAR accredited), one of the best private University for Agriculture.
Placements: All the students those were willing to get a job after B.Sc.(Hons.) Agriculture , got placed. According to our Dean sir, the median package was 2.8-3 LPA. Except few all the students are pursuing M.Sc./ ABM now. Each and every student got internship this year.
Infrastructure: Smart classroom with well equipped laboratories are there. Huge field area for practical crop production is also there. Protected structure, power tillar, tractor, ploughs etc. for agricultural engineering. Free Wi-Fi is also there. One ambulance for medical emergency. Quality of food is average. GYM- volleyball court, cricket ground etc. are there. I am a day scholar, that's why I don't have a great knowledge about hostel facilities.
Faculty: There are 55+ faculty members. Most of them are having PhD degree and all of them are NET qualified. The Neotia University follows the ICAR curriculum. TNU is the first private university in West Bengal to get ICAR accreditation. Semester exams are not too hard, you may easily pass the semester exams if you have general understanding about your subjects.
Other: The Neotia University is the first private university in West Bengal to achieve ICAR accreditation. The package provided by the university is very low, it could be better. TNU situated in a rural area so, connectivity issues are there. University provides scholarship to the meritorious students. Annual fest, freshers welcome event, sports event etc. are conducted in every year.

B.Sc. (Hons.) in Applied Psychology - Batch of 2024
    3.2

I’d rate the college average to good because of the opportunities, faculty and campus.
Placements: I had a 3 years Bachelors degree in this college. The college did not provide any placement opportunity but we were provided with one internship experience for a month at Ishwar Shankar which is an NGO that basically deals with homeless mentally challenged people and an exposure visit to CINI, Kolkata.
Infrastructure: The campus is big and full of greenery. There are different sports grounds like basketball, badminton court, cricket and football ground along with a swimming pool. There is a library with AC along with gym facility. The campus hostel is not worth the price, the quality of the food is below average.
Faculty: The faculty members are too supportive and friendly, only the HOD is a bit strict, but when it comes to the teaching part, she provides great knowledge. Moreover, there is one psychologist from who you can seek guidance related to your personal life. The courses are designed in such a way that they help an individual figure out different types and fields of psychology and give a direction for the future career. The level of exams here is moderate.
Other: There are scholarships provided by the college to help the students based on merit and sports quota. The college organizes different types of sports tournaments.

Bad facilities and services from TNU.
Placements: There are no placements in this college. For other departments there are placement but not for psychology. Though we were sent to a good internship at Ishwar Sankalp, Kolkata. It was very informative. We could interact with clients directly and also got to know a lot many things.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very poor. The classrooms are very old and not maintained. The washrooms remain dirty for the whole day and smells really bad. There is AC for students only in the library which was recently put. The buildings and the campus is not maintained properly. The hostel is very bad and not at all maintained. I stayed in the hostel for 1 year and it was like *** to me. They served me cockroaches with my dinner. When I complain, they said it's rainy season we can't do anything. The hostel dustbins remain overfilled and is not cleaned. The RO water tap's sink remains filled with vomit and food.
Faculty: The faculty is good except the administration. The administration treats everyone as outside and you need to do registration every 2-3 months. The professors are great. There are 2 minor tests and one semester exam held each semester. The faculty is very supportive and helpful.
Other: The administration works more like government offices which never lets you rest. After completing my 4th semester they tell you that you are not a student of this college as you haven't registered. Then again you need to register. The hostels are very bad and dirty. Almost everyday I vomited while staying in the hostel. I stayed in the hostel for 1 year and it was bad. They serve boiled lizards and cockroaches with the food. If you complain to the administration they tell you that the it came from somewhere we cannot do anything with that. This college does not care about the students. Even if you fails they give race marks to make you pass he semesters and help you get the degree.

Great Experience here at Neotia Looking good for Future .
Placements: Neotia University offers a B.Sc. in Biotechnology with approximately 65-75% placement rates. The highest package offered is between 5-6LPA, while the lowest is 2-3LPA, with an average of 3-4LPA. Recruiters such as Biocon, Cipla, and Novozymes are involved. Around 50-55% of students secure internships in companies like Biocon, Syngene, and research labs. The roles available are BioTeach Analyst and Lab Technician.
Infrastructure: The course facilities such as labs, classrooms, and the library are commendable. However, Wi-Fi could be more consistent. Hostel facilities are decent, and the food in the mess and canteen is satisfactory. Medical facilities are accessible, and sports amenities are good, fostering a balanced campus life.
Faculty: The teachers at Neotia are knowledgeable and helpful; most of them hold Ph.D.s. The teaching quality is very good. The course curriculum is well-prepared for future prospects. The semester exams are moderately difficult, and the pass percentage is decent.

    Most affordable private university.
Placements: 60 students from the first batch were opted for placement, and each of them is placed; others are pursuing an M.Sc. 47 students from the 2nd batch were opted for placement, and they are all placed. From the first batch, 11 students have secured glorious ranks in the ICAR PG examination.
Infrastructure: The department of agriculture and allied sciences has 13 labs with all necessary facilities according to ICAR guidelines: a smart classroom, a library with a book bank facility, two canteens inside the campus, and three hostel canteens (2 for boys and 1 for girls) as well. There are two large playgrounds for cricket and football, one multipurpose hall for indoor games, and one large basketball court. There is a medical harbor, a psychological clinic, a krishak bandhu, or agricultural advisory, and legal help, all of which are supervised by respective departments.
Faculty: The faculty members of the school of agriculture and allied sciences are highly qualified; all are doctorate degree holders, and each of them is highly experienced and friendly. They provide personal guidance for research and higher studies. The faculty members also coordinate different clubs and cultural activities.

Overall experience is good for food, faculty, and campus.
Placements: From this university, placement chances are very low. A total of 30 students were in our batch. The total package for this course is 2 lakhs 50 thousand (excluding hostel and food). You must need to do Masters and then MPsy for any recruitment. An internship was provided by the college for 1 month to everybody. For any psychologist role, you must do an M.Sc.
Infrastructure: Labs, classrooms, library, gym, swimming pool—everything is available. No, Wi-Fi is not there. Hostels are there for both boys and girls. Rooms are good. But the food in the canteen is not good. You need to buy food from outside of the college. There are food shops available for the students. Sports and games are there. Medical facilities are available as well.
Faculty: Teachers are very kind, friendly, and helpful. But not the HOD. She is a bit strict. Does not cooperate with students. Teachers are highly knowledgeable and qualified. The teaching quality of one sir was very good and of others is average. Workshops and webinars were there for students to increase knowledge. 6 months for each semester were given. If someone reads, exams will not be difficult. Teachers will provide notes. The pass percentage is 40%.
Other: I chose the course because I wanted to study how psychology works for everyone in a different way. How people's minds work in different manners. The way of teaching must be different for students; if it is more practical-based, students will enjoy the course. Fests and events based on psychological programs are there, and farewell for students as well. A scholarship is given by the college.
