On Placements

Q:   Does TNDALU Chennai offer better placements than National Law School of India University, Bangalore?

A:

Compared to TNDALU, NLSIU has a far greater reputation both domestically and abroad. While TNDALU is not included in the majority of top law school rankings, it often ranks in the top three law schools in India. Graduates at NLSIU have access to more prestigious and well-paying job possibilities since the university draws a greater selection of elite legal firms and companies for campus placements. Opportunities in corporate law, litigation, and foreign law firms fall under this category. While TNDALU promises respectable placements with a number of reputable law firms, the recruiters' overall prestige and range may be lesser than that of NLSIU.

Compared to TNDALU's Law programme, NLSIU has a better established and longer history. More established ties with employers and a more robust alumni network are the results of this. When compared to TNDALU's Law programme, NLSIU's tuition is substantially more. Thus, for certain students, TNDALU is a more cost-effective choice. NLSIU is regarded as superior to TNDALU after all is said and done.

Absolutely satisfied because of infrastructure, facilities, education, etc.
Placements: We have a dedicated placement cell in our college, which focuses on our placement drives. The training provided by the placement cell is very helpful during placement. The college has an excellent track record of placements, and I am happy with my placement.
Infrastructure: The campus is well-maintained with greenery and spacious buildings. The classrooms are equipped with modern facilities. Coming to sports, we have a lot of activities, and we have a wide open ground that includes various outdoor games like cricket, volleyball, basketball, etc.
Faculty: Coming to our academics, the environment is very peaceful for focusing on studies. The professors are senior in teaching and very supportive. We have a big library with large volumes of books; we can borrow books from there to take home at no cost during our education.
Other: Faculty members are alumni of our college and have loads of experience in the corporate world. Their insights and real-life examples prepare us for the tough grind in corporate life. The curriculum is designed in line with the requirements and is on par with IIM's.

The faculty members are good, but the infrastructure should be developed.
Placements: The placement in the college is very low. The student placed through placement is also very low because most of the students are not interested in joining in corporate jobs. I'm studying 2nd year, so I'm not much aware of the placement opportunity. The details about the placement opportunities are available on the official website of the college.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure should be developed, and the library facility is too good in the college. The Wi-Fi connection is available all over the college. The hostel infrastructure will also be developed. They are providing hostels for those who are coming from far distances.
Faculty: The faculty members are highly qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is too good. The students who choose BCA and B.Com courses can be easily qualified for corporate jobs. The semester exams are moderate (neither easy nor tough). To pass the semester exam, the student must get 35 marks in externals and 15 marks in internals; they have to get 50% to pass.
Other: Lawyer is my passion, so I chose this course. The best about my course is that the student can get jobs in corporations as well as be an ACT as an advocate. There will be three events in the college. Tantara, ethnic day, and sayonara (only for hostel students) are events in the college.

Thumbs Up IconUpvote Thumbs Down Icon

Q:   Can I get B.Tech at TNDALU Chennai with 75 percentile in TNEA?

A:

Getting a B.Tech at TNDALU Chennai with a 75 percentile in TNEA holds good promise, but it isn't a guaranteed ticket to your dream program. A 75 percentile in TNEA indicates you've outperformed 75% of the test-takers, placing you in a competitive position for B.Tech admissions. This percentile score suggests strong academic ability, which universities highly value.

More sought-after specializations like Computer Science or Electronics tend to have higher cut-offs. The competition intensifies if fewer seats are available in a specific program. Some seats are reserved for specific categories like SC, ST, and OBC, impacting the General category cut-offs.

A 75 percentile is a strong indicator, but it's not a guarantee. Unexpected variations in cut-offs or high competition for specific programs can still affect your chances. Prepare well for the counseling process. Prioritize your programme preferences and be ready to make adjustments based on available options.

Thumbs Up IconUpvote Thumbs Down Icon

Q:   What is the selection process for B.Tech and what is the minimum TNEA score required?

A:

The selection for various Engineering courses vary from institute to institute and branch to branch.  The selection process depends on the eligibility of the candidate who must have passed 10, +12 with PCM. Counselling process and document verification are essential steps in the selection process.

Every year, the TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions) cut-off for engineering admissions in Tamil Nadu varies based on a number of variables, including the volume of applications, the number of seats available, and the results of students' qualifying exams.

TNEA cut-off scores are established by taking into account the grades that students receive in their higher secondary exams (10+2). After taking these things into account, the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) officials announce the cut-off marks for every engineering college and branch. For example, to secure admission at Anna University, candidates must secure ranks above 5000 and marks more than 195. This also varies according to the community and caste of the student.

TNDALU Chennai FAQs

Q:   Is it worth pursuing B.A. LL.B. (Hons) at TNDALU Chennai?

A:
{Source: B.A. LL.B. (Hons) students & alumni}

After analyzing the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the key points:

Teaching Quality and Faculty

* Teachers are not entirely helpful, and it may take luck to get a qualified teacher in a semester.
* Most professors are friendly, approachable, and have extensive experience teaching law students.
* However, some teachers can be strict and overconfident.

Course Curriculum and Infrastructure

* The course curriculum covers the UPSC syllabus and prepares students for practical applications.
* Air-conditioned classrooms and modern infrastructure make studying comfortable.
* The library is well-stocked, and the online library provides access to paid legal databases.
* The hostel is available for girls, while boys live off-campus due to limited space.

Internship Opportunities and Placement

* Internships are not mandatory, but attending internships can enhance skills and build networks.
* Few top legal firms offer internships, and students with strong CVs tend to secure these opportunities.
* Placements are limited, especially for law graduates, and most students pursue higher studies.

Campus Life and Extracurricular Activities

* Campus life is minimal, with no notable festivals, extracurricular activities, or sports teams.
* However, the college organizes occasional events like moot courts, MUN, and NCC/NSS activities.

Overall Worthiness

Based on the feedback, pursuing B.A. LL.B. (Hons) at TNDALU Chennai might not be ideal for everyone. While the college offers decent infrastructure and some faculty strengths, its limitations in terms of teaching quality, internship opportunities, and campus life might deter some students. However, those interested in law and willing to adapt to the college's environment might still consider applying.

Scoring in either TNPCEE (Tamil Nadu Professional Common Entrance Examinations) or TNEA will meet the criteria. Q:   Is TNDALU Chennai more expensive than National Law School of India University, Bangalore?

A:

When comparing just the tuition costs, NLSIU is noticeably more expensive than TNDALU. The cheaper hostel costs at TNDALU, however, somewhat make up for the disparity. Living costs are much more in Bangalore than they are in Chennai. Considering all of these variables, NLSIU's overall tuition for undergraduate programmes is probably more expensive than TNDALU's, however specific scholarship circumstances may differ.

For postgraduate programmes, the difference in tuition fees between NLSIU and TNDALU is less, while the costs for housing are the same. Living costs are considerably greater in Bangalore than they are in Chennai, though. As a result, although the difference is somewhat smaller than for UG programmes, the overall cost of attending NLSIU for PG programmes is probably going to be somewhat more than TNDALU.
