Almost 80% of the first-year students at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad are allotted double rooms and the rest 20% are given single rooms.

In the city of Hyderabad, BITS Pilani has opened its fourth campus. On the outskirts of Hyderabad, towards the Karimnagar highway, in Jawaharnagar, Shameerpet Mandal, RR District, the institute is stretched across an area of 200 acres. A budget of roughly INR 270 crores is allocated for the campus' construction, which will be finished in three stages. The first 600 students were admitted in August 2008, and the campus officially opened. Over 700 brilliant individuals are accepted each year into the first-year, graduate-level, and doctoral programs. With almost 2800 students living there, the campus is entirely residential. On the Karimnagar Highway, the college is roughly 25 kilometers from Secunderabad railway station, 40 kilometers from Hyderabad (Nampally) railway station, 45 kilometers from Hyderabad Imliban Central bus depot, and 70 kilometers from Hyderabad Rajeev Gandhi airport.

The main structure has centrally air-conditioned administrative offices, lecture halls, labs, and classrooms. In addition to banking, medical, and market amenities, there are separate hostels for boys and girls and staff housing.

Student Housing and Dining at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad

The institute is entirely residential, and all students are given access to dormitories. There are two hostels for girls and six for boys. All students have access to two communal kitchens and dining facilities. The five-member student mess council oversees the operation of the unit and the mess, which serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals. It is a requirement for students staying in the hostel to eat at the hostel mess. Each hostel resident is given access to basic amenities such as a cot, table, chair, ceiling fan, and cupboard. There are solar water heating systems in every hostel. In every hostel, there are common rooms with cable TV. Every room at the hostel has access to the internet.

The total Tuition fee for BITS Pilani Hyderabad is 19.94 lacs (for 4 years). Apart from the academic block containing classrooms, laboratories, computer terminal rooms and the library, the campus houses separate hostels for boys and girls, a Student Activity Centre (SAC), residential quarters for faculty and staff, a medical centre, shopping complex, football ground, cricket ground, basketball,. .

Q:   What are the campus facilities provided by BITS Pilani Hyderabad?

A:

BITS Pilani Hyderabad is spread over an area of 200 acres and provides various facilities for the students. Moreover, BITS-Pilani, Hyderabad Campus is about 25 Km from Secunderabad Central Railway station. Some of the facilities offered at the BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus are:

  • Library
  • Auditorium
  • Hostels
  • Canteens
  • Healthcare, etc. 

General Overview of Hostels at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad

  • There are 12 boys' hostels on the campus, each with about 230 rooms (most of them are single rooms and the rest are double). They're referred to as Bhawans. Ram Bhawan, Budh Bhawan, Krishna Bhawan, Gandhi Bhawan, Shankar Bhawan, Vyas Bhawan, Vishwakarma Bhawan, Bhagirath Bhawan, Rana Pratap Bhawan, Ashok Bhawan, Malviya Bhawan, and Malviya Extension. Recently, a brand-new boys' hostel was built for research scholars.
  • Each Bhawan has its own resident warden. There are hostel superintendents, who have three to four hostels each under them.
  • There is a girls' hostel complex, called Meera Bhawan Complex with a couple of wardens.
  • Almost 80% of the first-year students are allotted double rooms and the rest 20% are given single rooms. This allotment of Bhawans and rooms is completely random, irrespective of discipline.
  • Girls' hostel has its own mess.
  • Boys are not allowed inside girls' hostels and messes and vice versa.
  • Every room has proper lighting facilities and a fan. Every single room is provided with a bed, a study table, a chair and an almirah. These things double in the case of a double room.
  • Every wing (generally of 12 rooms each) has its own adequate number of bathrooms, washrooms etc.
  • Every room has a LAN connection (two in the case of double rooms) available at no extra cost. Internet / Intranet facilities can be accessed at reasonable speeds for 24 hours.

Currently, the institute has the below-mentioned facilities for Games & Sports

  1. Outdoor Facilities: Football, Hockey, Basketball (Synthetic Acrylic surface), Tennis (Synthetic Acrylic Surface), Volleyball Courts and Throw ball (for Girls). 
  2. Indoor Facilities: Football, Table Tennis, Carom, Chess, Billiards and Badminton (wooden Courts). 
  3. A Well-equipped Gym (Separate for Boys & Girls) is also operational that can handle 70-80 students at a time.
  4. A cricket ground
  5. Other recreational facilities like Dance Club, Music Club, Painting, Photography and Dramatics etc. are available in the Student Activity Center.

Healthcare Facilities at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad

A medical centre has opened on campus and is now offering workers and students access to medical care around-the-clock. For any consultations, two male doctors, a compounder/lab technician, a sister, and a lab technician live on campus.

Shopping Complex & Bank

A shopping complex of 15,000 s.ft. has been built and is open to cater to the shopping needs of the students and faculty. The facilities provided at the shopping complex are :

  • Bank (SBH) and ATM
  • The Book Syndicate
  • MORE Supermarket
  • Restaurant
  • Bakery
  • Beauty parlor for men and women separately
  • Tele Communications shop
  • Medical Shop
  • Juice Corner
  • Fruits and Vegetable shop

BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Institute Cafeteria

This location, commonly referred to as IC, is found in the same structure directly behind the auditorium. IC is the perfect location for you if you're seeking for a cheap place to stay. Until 5.30 p.m. Masala Dosa, sweets like Gulab Jamun and Chum-Chum, Lassi Lemonade, and Samosa Chat (BITSians refer to it as "Sam" Chat) are all available.

All Night Canteen (ANC)

With your BITSian ID Card, you can purchase food on credit here. The cuisine is reasonably good, and it has the benefit of being open till late at night. Paneer Franky, Tandoori Chicken, Veg. &. Chicken Pasta/Rice, Butter Chicken/Kadai Paneer with Butter Naan, Ice Cream, Dosas, and Uttapams are among the fast-selling items here.

No, admission to the BE programmes is based on merit in the Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT) only. BITS Pilani Hyderabad does not accept any other entrance test scores. Hence, aspirants shall ensure that they take the entrance test and secure a good score.
