IGNOU Results 2020: TEE, Grade Card, Revaluation & Improvement Results

The Term End Exams (TEE) at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) are conducted every six months, i.e, June and December. The results of the exams are posted online within 60 days of exam conclusion on the student portal of IGNOU. The University also releases grade cards for those who qualify the exams.

The result of December TEE 2019 was declared in February. Approximately 7.5 lakh candidates appeared for this TEE. The important particulars of the exam are tabulated below:

IGNOU TEE Application 2020

IGNOU releases an application form for TEE two months earlier than the date of examination. Candidates are required to follow the below-mentioned steps to fill the form:

1. Visit the official website of IGNOU (ignou.ac.in) and click on the hamburger icon

2. Click on ‘Register Online’ and then, ‘Term End Exam’

3. Enter programme code, enrolment number and preferred regional centre to appear for examination

4. Click on ‘Submit button’ and pay the application fee

Note: Allotment of exam centre is based on a first-come, first-serve basis. In case, the choice of exam centre is full, candidates are given an option to select another exam centre which is nearest to it.

IGNOU Result 2020 

In order to check the result, candidates are required to enter their nine-digit enrolment number on student result portal.IGNOU result can be checked by following these simple steps:

1. Visit the official website of IGNOU and click on the hamburger icon

2. Click on the ‘Student Support’ tab and select ‘Results’

3. Click on ‘Term-End’ or ‘Grade Card’ to view the results/grade card of the relevant semester

4. Enter the enrolment number and click on ‘submit’ to check result

IGNOU Evaluation Process 2020

The weightage given to theory and practical is 70% and 30% respectively. The grade calculation in grade card can be understood from the table given below:

Candidates must secure a minimum of 35 marks in theory out of 100 and 50% marks in assignment to be considered as 'pass'.

IGNOU Revaluation Process 2020 

Candidates unsatisfied with their results can apply for the revaluation process. The application form for the same has to be submitted within a month of result declaration date. Revaluation can be applied only for TEE theory papers. For other exam components such as practical exams, lab assignments, project, viva-voce, etc., revaluation is not allowed.  The step-by-step process of applying for revaluation is given below:

1. Visit the official website of IGNOU and click on the hamburger icon

3. The revaluation login window will open. Enter the enrolment number, programme code and apply for revaluation

Applications are to be sent on the dedicated Email ID or address given in the application form. IGNOU charges a revaluation fee of Rs 750 per subject.

The result of revaluation comes generally comes within 30 days from the application date. After the revaluation, better of the two scores is considered. Revised grades are declared on the official website of IGNOU as well as on the registered Email ID of the student.

*For revaluation of CPE and DPE exams, the application needs to be sent to the regional centre

IGNOU Improvement Examination 2020

If a student is unsatisfied with their performance in the exam, they can sit for the IGNOU improvement exam. The improvement exam is only for theory papers.

Eligibility for Improvement Exam

  • Students of bachelor’s/master’s degree who fall short of 2% marks from securing the first and second division
  • Students of master’s degree who fall short of 2% marks to secure overall 55%

The procedure for the application of improvement exam is currently only available through offline mode. Interested students can download the application form by following the below-mentioned steps:

  1. Visit the official website of IGNOU on desktop (not available for the mobile site). Click on ‘Student Support’ and then ‘Student Zone’

4. Download and print the application form and send it to the University along with a DD of Rs 750 drawn in the favour of IGNOU

Prescribed dates for submission of form:

  • April 1-30 for June Term-end Exam
  • October 1-30 for December Term-end Exam

On the top of the envelope containing the application form, candidates need to mention “Application form for improvement in Division/Class”. The application form must reach within the prescribed dates at the following address:

IGNOU Back Papers 

If a student has failed in exams in the first year, then he/she can give back papers within 2 years. To apply for the back papers, one needs to fill the application form which is available on the official website.

IGNOU gives 8 years’ period to complete all the backlogs in UG and 5 years for completing the PG programme.
