CLAT 2025: The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) will conduct the CLAT 2025 Entrance Exam on December 1, 2024. The Consortium closed the online registration process for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) on October 22, 2024. Guidelines Regarding Postcard Size Photo for CLAT 2025

The consortium had released guidelines regarding passport-size photos for CLAT. Let us take a look at the details here:

  • A recent passport-size colour photograph with name and date
  • The background of the photo must be either white colour or light colour
  • The face of the individual must be clear and visible in the photo
  • The image should be professional-looking
  • There should not be red-eye in the photo

Before filling up the CLAT exam 2025, candidates were advised to check the eligibility criteria for CLAT 2025. Candidates could follow the simple guidelines given below:

  • Candidate must sign on the white paper with a Black Ink pen
  • A signature should be done by the candidate and not by any other person
  • The signature should be in small letters and in a flow of running hand
  • The signature on the CLAT Admit Card and the attendance sheet on the CLAT Exam Day should match the signature uploaded in the online form. Otherwise, candidates will not be allowed to appear in the CLAT 2025 Exam

Q:   How can I improve my CLAT mock score?

A:

To improve CLAT mock score, it is important to take the following measures:

  • Practice at least one CLAT mock test daily. The more number of questions you will solve the more chances you will have of scoring better.  
  • Try to improve your speed and accuracy while attempting the CLAT mock test
  • After attempting a mock test, note down your weak subjects/topics. Focus on your weaker areas more and then attempt the CLAT mock test again

By following these measures you will gradually see an improvement in your overall CLAT mock score. Following the measures will also increase your chances of cracking the CLAT exam with flying colours. 

Q:   How to attempt the mock test of CLAT 2025?

A:

Candidates must practice as many CLAT 2025 mock tests as possible until the last day. Aspirants can follow the simple tips and tricks given below to score maximum marks:

  • Decide the order of attempt

Candidates must identify the order in which they wish to attempt a section so that they don’t waste their time. They should ensure that they follow the same strategy on the exam day too.

  • Attempt 110+ questions:

Candidates must try and attempt 110+ questions. On the basis of the difficulty level of the paper, the candidates can decide how many questions they want to attempt. Candidates must not forget that there is a negative marking for each wrong answer. Be very sure of the answers before attempting them to avoid negative markings.

  • 3 Sections should be STRONG:

As per the CLAT UG Exam Pattern 2024, there will be five sections.  Candidates must ensure that at least they are strong in three sections. These three sections should be such that you can answer any question asked from it. These three sections should be such that you are sure that you will be able to secure above 80% marks.

  • Increase your speed and accuracy

Aspirants must work on their speed and accuracy. This is important so that you can complete your CLAT 2025 Question paper on time. Candidates can work on increasing speed by reading newspapers, solving sectional tests, solving more mock tests, etc.

Q:   What are the benefits of giving CLAT Mock Tests 2025?

A:

The key benefits of solving CLAT 2025 sample and question papers was that the sample paper contained similar types of questions to the ones asked in the actual CLAT exam. So, by solving the sample papers, the candidate were able to develop problem-solving and time-management skills. Another thing was previous years questions papers helped them to know types of questions asked, marking scheme, difficulty level, etc. With better insights into the exam, the candidate were able to adopt a better strategy for success.

Q:   When should I start attempting the CLAT mock tests?

A:

You should start attempting CLAT mock tests after you have a basic understanding of the syllabus and exam pattern, ideally 2–3 months before the actual exam. Here’s a step-by-step approach:

  • Initial Phase (2–3 months before the exam):

Start with topic-wise or sectional mock tests to assess your strengths and weaknesses in different sections (English, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, etc.).
Focus on learning the concepts and solving questions without worrying too much about time.

  • Intermediate Phase (1–2 months before the exam):

Begin full-length mock tests at least once a week.
Analyse your performance, review mistakes, and focus on time management.

  • Final Phase (Last month before the exam):

Increase the frequency to 3–4 full-length mocks per week.
Practice under strict time conditions to improve speed and accuracy.
Review each mock thoroughly to fine-tune your strategy.
By following this strategy, you can effectively use mock tests to improve your performance and readiness for CLAT.

Before beginning with the CLAT application process 2025, candidates were advised to keep the below-mentioned items ready: 

  • A working email ID and mobile number
  • Class 10 and 12 mark sheets
  • ID and address proof (Aadhaar Card/Driving License/PAN Card, etc.)
  • Scanned Passport size photograph (Format: JPEG)
  • Scanned signature (Format: JPEG)
  • Category certificate if applying under SC/ST/OBC category
  • Relevant certificate issued by a competent authority if applying as PwD or BPL candidate

The CLAT 2025 eligibility criteria for admission to UG courses is - a minimum of 45 per cent marks in class 12, and for the PG course is - a bachelor's law degree with at least 50 per cent marks. 

How to Scan CLAT Photo & Signature?

Candidates could follow the simple instructions given below to scan the CLAT photo & signature in a specified format:

  • Scanner should be in a minimum of 200 dots per inch
  • Set the colour as True colour
  • Scan the Photo & Signature as mentioned in the format above
  • After scanning the documents, crop the image to remove the unwanted area
  • Save the file in JPEG/JPG format

Candidates were advised to follow the instructions given below while filling out the form in order to avoid rejection of the application. 

  • Try to avoid taking pictures from smartphones
  • Avoid dark backgrounds in the photograph
  • Do not wear tinted or dark glasses. Use only clear glasses while taking a photo
  • Your face should be clearly visible.
  • Make sure that the CLAT Photo Size must be in the specified format.
  • Caps, hats, and dark glasses are not acceptable.
  • The sign must be done on white paper with a Black Ink pen in order to avoid the CLAT Signature issue
