JEE Main 2024 Paper 2 Dates

NTA has announced JEE Main 2024 paper 2 dates. Candidates can check below the schedule for JEE Main Paper 2 below for sessions 1 and 2:

Q:   Can I get NIT with 95 percentile in JEE Main?

A:
It is possible for you to secure a seat in an NIT (National Institute of Technology), although it may not guarantee your preferred branch or institute. If your percentile is above 96%, your chances of getting into a respectable NIT increase, but you may need to compromise on your branch selection. However, if you aim for a decent NIT with a preferred branch in the core field, you would need to score above 97.5%. On the other hand, if your goal is to get admission to a top college with the CSE (Computer Science and Engineering) branch, your score would need to be higher than 99.4%.

Q:   What is the cutoff for BTech in Computer Science and Engineering at NIT Hamirpur for other than General categories?

A:

The last year 2022 cutoff ranks for BTech in Computer Science and Engineering at NIT Hamirpur - National Institute of Technology other than General category are - 17445 for OBC, 1663 for SC, 578 for ST, 16770 for EWS, 187395 for PWD. While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in JEE exam, the last cut offs also change a lot depending on All India quota or Home State. It also varies if the applicant is a female.

Q:   How to calculate percentile in JEE?

A:

NTA uses a formula to calculate NTA score in JEE Main. The formula used is

JEE-Main-NTA-Score-Formula

Q:   What is the cutoff for BTech at NIT Andhra Pradesh for OBC category?

A:

NIT Andhra Pradesh BTech cutoff 2024 for BTech courses ranged between 25704 and 91199 for OBC category. Wherein, the most competitive course was BTech in Computer Science and Engineering and the least competitive course was BTech in Biotechnology. While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in JEE Main, the last cutoffs also change a lot depending on All India quota or Home State. It also varies if the applicant is a female.

Q:   What is CRL in JEE Main Cutoff?

A:
CRL stands for the Common Rank List. NTA releases the cutoff in several categories one of which is CRL. Basically, CRL means unreserved category. Candidates belonging to unreserved category need to have JEE Main cutoff equal to or more than the CRL cutoff. The other categories for which cutoff is released are Gen-EWS, Open-PwD, OBC-NCL, SC and ST.

FAQs Regarding JEE Main 2024 Paper 2

Q. When will NTA release JEE Main 2024 paper 2 result?

A. NTA will soon release the JEE Main paper 2 result 2024 on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates can download their scorecard using heir application number and date of birth.

Q. Is it compulsory to appear for Paper 2 in JEE Main 2024?

A. No, it is not compulsory to appear for the JEE Main paper 2. If you are interested in BArch/B.Planning course, then only apply for the course.

Q. Is JEE Main Paper 2 compulsory for architecture?

A. It is compulsory if you want to take admission in BArch and BPlan courses at IITs & NITs. For other colleges, candidates can appear in National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture for admission to first year BArch.

Q. What if I miss my JEE Main Paper 2 and give Paper 1?

A. Here we must understand that JEE Main Paper 1 is for an Engineering degree course while Paper 2 is for the Architecture programme. So, if a candidate wants to take admission into any of the colleges through Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) for the Architecture course, he/she is required to appear for either of the exams and also if someone wants to appear for both the exams, they can do so.

Q. I have scored 95.4% in JEE Paper 2. Can I get a seat in LPU?

A. As per eligibility, of course, a candidate must have 60% aggregate marks in Diploma or 2 (with PCM) and must qualify NATA or JEE Paper 2 with 80% and above.

Q. What is a good percentile in JEE Mains Paper 2?

A. If we talk about a percentage required by general category students to get admission through JEE Main Paper 2 for architecture and planning, then they will need to have a minimum of 98 percentile and above.

Q. Why do I need to appear for the JEE Mains Paper 2?

A. If a candidate wants to take admissions to the 5 years undergraduate BArch or B.Planning courses at the NIT's and the centrally funded institutes then you are required to appear JEE Main Paper 2.

Q. What should I choose BArch or BTech?

A. BArch is a bachelor degree in architectural science and BTech is a bachelor degree in engineering. You can choose either of them according to your area of interest.

Q. Is BArch a tough course to study?

A. Practically, no course/degree is easy or tough, it totally depends on the student’s ability and performance. Everyone believes their course to be the toughest! However, architecture frankly is a very difficult course if you're not interested in it.

Q. Do BArch candidates get good placements options?

A. 'Generally' there are no placements in BArch, but that does not mean that architects are jobless. They have plenty of options to earn as assistant architects in reputed firms to start their work or they can open their own firm in any city.

Q. Can I choose BArch as a good career option?

A. BArch is definitely a good course and has great career opportunities if you can do this course from the top colleges of India after clearing JEE Main or NATA. After completing this course you will get a chance to get jobs abroad as well.
