Q:   I got 79 percentile in JEE Mains and 66% in Class 12. Will I get admission to Sastra University, Thanjavur?

A:

Based on the information you've provided, your JEE Mains percentile of 79 is decent and could be a competitive score for admission to Sastra University, Thanjavur. However, your class 12 percentage of 66% might be slightly below the usual cutoff for some courses at the university. To increase your chances of admission, I recommend checking Sastra University's official website or contacting their admission department for the specific cutoff scores and eligibility criteria for the course you are interested in.

Sastra University is known for its competitive admission process, and the cutoff marks can vary each year. It's essential to have a clear understanding of the admission requirements and eligibility criteria to make an informed decision.

In case your JEE Mains percentile meets or exceeds the cutoff set by Sastra University for your desired course, you stand a good chance of getting admission. However, if the cutoff is higher, you may consider other options or explore different courses that align with your JEE Mains score and class 12 percentage.

Remember, admissions to universities can be competitive, and it's always a good idea to have backup options. There are many other reputable institutions that offer quality education in engineering and other fields. Research thoroughly, consider all available choices, and apply to multiple universities to increase your chances of getting accepted.

I wish you the best of luck with your admission process, and I hope you find the right university and course that aligns with your academic goals and aspirations!"

Great Industry Exposure, Strong Faculty Support, and Excellent Campus Facilities.
Placements: 30% of students were placed. The highest package offered was 19 LPA, and the lowest was 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies included Amazon, TCS, CTS, and Deloitte. 30 percent of students got internships at companies like Amazon, Deloitte, and Emphasis. The top roles offered were Software Engineer (SDE), Embedded System Designer, Data Analyst, Firmware Developer, and VLSI Engineer.
Infrastructure: The campus has high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity available across academic buildings, libraries, and hostels. It supports research, project work, and online learning without interruptions. Well-equipped labs are available for hands-on learning in areas such as embedded systems, software development, networking, and data science. For embedded systems specifically, there are microcontroller programming and IoT labs with the necessary hardware.
Faculty: The faculty members are highly qualified, with many holding advanced degrees (M.Tech, Ph.D.) from reputable institutions. Several professors have industry experience. Professors are approachable, offering guidance during office hours and through mentorship. They encourage students to ask questions and engage in discussions. They are knowledgeable in their fields and often provide real-world examples.
Other: While there are internships and some industry projects, greater collaboration with companies for live projects could improve practical exposure. More electives focusing on advanced topics like AI in embedded systems or autonomous systems could add significant value. Increasing the number of workshops and guest lectures by industry professionals would provide further insights into current trends and career opportunities.

This is absolutely worth it if you are really interested in studying and not just pubbing.
Placements: Bosch is a major recruiter, along with semiconductors. TCS and many major companies do participate in placement. IBM and TVS also have a major share in its placement, along with multiple startups and a few companies from MAANG like Amazon. For aerospace, Garuda is a major recruiter.
Infrastructure: Food can be a problem if you are a Northie; otherwise, everything else will be fine. There is a bit of a language problem. Maybe, but once you start getting along with the locals and start interacting with them, everything will be normal, and you will start enjoying your time. As for food, you will get used to it.
Faculty: It's tough; in order to pass exams, you'll have to be serious about your studies. Sastra gives so much priority to its academic performance, and it does provide so many resources if you are into research and innovation. They have multiple clubs dedicated to it.
Other: Their main festival, kuruksastra, is not very fun, and you cannot say you will have a great college life as it is very strict.

I am satisfied with this college because of its faculty members, placements, and library.
Placements: Almost 80% of students got placed in our college. Almost 90% of students got placed in our course. The highest salary package offered is 35 LPA. The average salary package offered is 6 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 2.5 LPA. The top recruiting company is Payal Company, Amazon, etc. Around 20% of students got internships. Software roles are offered in Sastra, Amazon, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. Our college provides us with all facilities. The Wi-Fi connection is good, and it is available for students and teachers. The hostel has a Wi-Fi facility. Labs are good. Classrooms are in good condition, but not that expected. The library is one of the best places in our college, and it contains many books. There is no need for any teacher if you seat in the library. The library is one of my favorite places on campus.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, good, friendly, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is relevant and it makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are difficult. It is hard to pass exams for an average student.
Other: I opted for this course because of my interest in it. The best thing about this course is that it provides good knowledge. The course curriculum should be upgraded and reduced. Many events are held in our college, and it is good to participate. Labs should be improved.
