A:

To obtain the study material for the CFA course, there are the following options:

  1. The CFA institute proivdes an official curriculum for each exam level. This curriculum covers all the required topics and is considered the rimary source of the study material for the CFA exam. Students are given the option to purchase the curriculum directly from the institute's website.
  2. Many third-party vendors also offer study materials for the CFA exam which is specifically designed to help the aspirants prepare for the exam. These materials often include study guides, practice questions, mock tests, online course and/or video lectures.
  3. There are various online sources available for obtaining the CFA study material. Websites, forums and online communities dedicated to CFA exam preparation provide free or low-cost study materials, practice papers, and other helpful preparation tips.
  4. Joining or forming a study group can be beneficial for sharing study materials and insights with fellow aspirants. It will help you discuss challenging topics, solve practice questions, and gain different prespectives on the exam content.

It is important to find authentic study material which aligns with our learning style and preferences. Consider your buget, time constraints, and the level of support and guidance you need to prepare for the CFA exam. Additionally, always refer to the CFA curriculum provided by the CFA institute for accurate and up to date information.

Q:   What should I wear on the CFA exam day?

A:

There is no dress code, so wear what you’re comfortable in – within reason, of course. We recommend that you dress in layers so that you can adjust and keep comfortable as needed. Candidates must make sure that they reach the exam centre at least an hour before the exam starts. It is not mandatory to wear suits to the CFA exam centre. The attire should be decent and comfortable.

Q:   Can I delay my CFA exam?

A:

Yes, candidates can typically defer or delay their CFA exam, but there are specific policies and deadlines set by the CFA Institute that they must follow. However, candidates can request for deferal to a future date only if they have already registered for the upcoming exam date and are unable to take the exam due to extenuating circumstances such as medical reasons, family emergencies, or other significant events.

The CFA Institute typically has specific deadlines by which you must request a deferral for your exam. It's important to check the CFA Institute's official website for the most current deferral policy and deadlines. Students need to pay a deferral fee of USD 250. They also need to provide required documents such as medical certificate in case of illness.

When the candidate requests a deferral, he/she will typically be given the option to select a future exam date from the available exam windows. They then need to choose their preferrable exam date.

The CFA institute will then review the deferral request and assess the validity of your reasons. If they find the request to be genuine then the candidate may be granted the deferral.

Q:   Should I use the optional 30 minute break in the CFA exam? What should I bring for the break?

A:

Yes, we think it is useful to have that break. You can use it to have a light snack, drink and use the toilet before heading in for the second session. It’s actually not a long break. You won’t be allowed to eat snacks or drink during the exam, but you can and should bring your own light snack and water – something that keeps well in room temperature for your optional 30 minute break. Going back in late for second session will eat into your exam time, so be mindful of this.

Q:   Will there be a place to keep things that I cannot bring into the CFA exam hall?

A:

Candidates may or may not be provided with a private locker at the CFA exam centre. However, candidates can always visit the CFA exam centre a day before the exam so to know the location of the exam centre, the time it would take for you to reach the centre and also if the locker service is available at the alloted exam centre or not. The exam will be conducted in the computer-based test mode, hence, the candidates should only bring the necessary things with them.

Q:   Need to know more information about CFA course. When can I do CFA course? And also need some details about the course.

To become a CFA charterholder, you must pass all three exams, have at least four years of qualified investment work experience, and meet other professional and ethical standards set by the CFA Institute. The CFA programme covers a wide range of topics, including financial reporting and analysis, economics, portfolio management, ethics, and professional standards.
