Q:   What are the cutoff marks required for B Tech?

A:

The cutoff marks required for B.Tech programs vary depending on several factors, including the specific university, college, program, entrance exam, and year of admission. However, here's a general overview of the cutoff marks for B.Tech programs in India:

Entrance ExamApproximate Minimum Cutoff Range
MHT-CET (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test)70% - 80%
JEE Main (Joint Entrance Examination Main)7000 - 10,000

For instance, the cutoff marks for B.Tech programs at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are typically much higher than those for other colleges. In 2023, the closing rank for Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Bombay was 17, while the closing rank for the same specialisation at BVCOE (Bharati Vidyapeeth's College of Engineering for Women) in Pune was 8762 (MHT-CET) and 11430 (JEE Main).

Here's a table summarizing the average cutoff marks for different B.Tech specializations at BVCOE for the academic year 2023-24:

SpecializationMHT-CET CutoffJEE Main Cutoff
Computer Science and Engineering876211430

Mechanical Engineering4797787247

It's important to note that these are just average cutoff marks, and the actual cutoff for each year may vary. Additionally, the cutoff marks may differ for different reservation categories (SC, ST, OBC).

Aspiring B.Tech candidates should carefully research the cutoff marks for their preferred colleges and specializations to assess their chances of admission. They should also prepare diligently for the entrance exams to ensure they score well above the cutoff marks.

A:

No, you cannot join Bharati Vidyapeeth's College of Engineering for Women (BVCOE) directly without appearing for the entrance exam. Admission to B.Tech programs at BVCOE is primarily entrance-based, and candidates must have appeared for either the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) or the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. The college also considers the candidate's academic record in 12th standard for admission to B.Tech programs.

Here's a summary of the admission process for B.Tech programs at BVCOE:

  1. Eligibility: Candidates must have passed the qualifying examination (12th standard) with a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
  2. Entrance Exam: Candidates must appear for either the MHT-CET or the JEE Main. The minimum percentile requirement for shortlisting varies depending on the specialisation and the year of admission.
  3. Shortlisting: Based on their entrance exam scores, candidates are shortlisted for further consideration.
  4. Counseling: Shortlisted candidates are invited for counseling sessions, where their merit, entrance exam scores, and personal interviews are evaluated.
  5. Final Selection: Based on their overall performance in the counseling process, candidates are selected for admission to the B.Tech program.

I am satisfied with good placements offered by the college.
Placements: Our college is good placement-wise. Many big companies offer thousands of jobs per year. Campus placement occurs per year. Overall, it is a good college and has a good campus. College offers good training for placements. So it is very beneficial for students to get placed.
Infrastructure: The college hostel is average because it doesn't have separate washroom for each room. Otherwise, it is good. The mess of the college hostel is also good. The food served is healthy and tasty. Strictness is provided for girls. Security-wise, it is also good. So overall, the hostel is good.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are knowledgeable. Teaching quality is very good. The college makes students industry-ready. So placement happens in the fourth year. College semester exams look easy because syllabus is covered as per time. The passing percentage for each semester is 35%.
Other: I chose the IT branch because our college has good placements for the IT department. All is good. College provides government scholarships as well as private scholarships as per their knowledge and performance. The college guides the students well.

Review about engineering College in Pune I. e BVCOEW.
Placements: Placement in our college this year broke all previous year records. In this year there are more than 100 offers from MNC's and other top most companies. Our recruiters are TCS, Wipro, IBM, Infosys, Syntel, Amazon, HudlIndia, Vodafone, etc. As there are less students in college we have to go for pool campuses.
Infrastructure: College has the best infrastructure. College has 4 floor. 4th floor is for Allied engineering department, 3rd floor is for Entc department, 2nd floor is for Comp and IT engineering department and 1st floor is for library and administrative department. There is enough ventilation in classrooms and labs. Wi-Fi facility is available on each floor. There is a gym facility for all girls students. There is free sanitary napkin machine available for girls students. College has very good parking facilities and campus.
Faculty: Our faculty is well educated and most of staff is pursuing Ph.D. All staff always motivates the students for the better performance. Many staffs are the members of syllabus setting committee in SPPU. They always help us to gain the practical knowledge. Lectures and practical are conducted on regular basis. If any student fails the 75% criteria of attendance then she have to call her parents to meet the HOD's.

Absolutely satisfied because of faculty member, good placements in 2023-24, and facilities are good.
Placements: 60 to 70% of students have been placed in our batch until now. The highest package is 12 LPA, and the lowest is 4 LPA offered to the students. The top recruiting companies are IBM, Amdocs, Standard Chartered, TCS, and Capgemini. Some students get internships at IIT Roorkee, NIH, Oracle, Capgemini, and other companies. Software engineer, Devops engineer, data analyst, data scientist, front-end developer, and back-end developer are the roles offered for students.
Infrastructure: Facilities given by college are water purifier, sports fields, labs, big classrooms with smart TVS with connected wi-fi, etc. The hostel facilities are also good; the mess provides healthy food on time, RO-purified water, and a breathable garden in front of the hostel.
Faculty: The faculty staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. Yes, this course curriculum is relevant. Semester exams conducted by the college are tough; the passing criteria is that you have to pass in the semester with 12 marks and end the semester with 28 marks. So the total of both is 40 to pass the examination.

A fully student oriented college by means of academics, as well as personality development.
Placements: The placement cell is very strong in our college. Many big MNC's have come for recruitment. Companies like TCS, Microsoft, Amazon have tie-ups with the college. There are many chances to get a placement. If you maintain your aggregate in distinction throughout the 4 years, then it is not hard for you to get placed. Many personality development workshops are conducted by the college, and aptitude tests are conducted frequently.
Infrastructure: There is a very proper infrastructure, and the ventilation is proper. The classrooms are well constructed, and source of light is natural and it is airy. Free Wi-Fi facility is also available. The labs are proper and full of the latest and well-maintained equipment. The gymkhana and canteen are the main attraction for students. The college campus is the centre of attraction, you must visit once.
Faculty: As I am in the IT department, I can briefly tell about the IT faculty only. The staff is fully supportive not only in academics but also in other issues. They are well-educated and well-mannered. The teaching of every staff member is proper. Communication with the students is a strong point about them.
Other: NSS unit is the heart of the college. Many extracurricular activities are conducted in the college. College tech fest Jishin is just a refreshment to the students. Many scholarship exams or scholarships are available for students.

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.
