Q:   Can I get direct admission to LL.B. at DY Patil Law College Nerul?

A:

It's highly unlikely to get direct admission to the LL.B. programme at DY Patil Law College Nerul. Here's why:

  1. Official Information: Both the college website and the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test Cell (MHCET) website mention Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHCET Law) as the mandatory entrance exam for admission to the LL.B. programme at DY Patil Law College Nerul. They don't mention any option for direct admission.

  2. Standardized Admission Process: Law colleges in Maharashtra, including DY Patil Law College Nerul, typically follow a standardized and transparent admission process through MHCET Law. Students with a zeal for law will make their mark.

The college is very supportive in a lot of aspects.
Placements: There aren't any age bars for taking admission in the college for LL.B course. Most of the candidates are already working. There aren't any placements offered, but if you wish to grab a job through college, you can get into touch with the professors. The professors are quite helpful to students in finding a good internship.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is huge, but the law department, being a new one, is not huge though you have access to a good amount of facilities like library, canteen, open area for students to study and also for recreational purposes. Classrooms are spacious.
Faculty: Faculty members for LL.B are mostly visiting faculty, and they're quite good at teaching. Residential professors are very helpful for students who are working. The teaching pattern is really good. The course curriculum is set by the university, and the papers are of 100 marks in every end-semester exams. There are 6 semesters in total.
Other: An annual fest named Velawcity is conducted in our college. It's a complete law based fest and is very informative. Other than that, we have Olympia which is a dupe of Olympic, wherein all the colleges affiliated to our university play different sports.

Q:   Does D.Y. Patil School of Law offer better placements than St. Wilfred's College of Law?

A:

If you're contemplating between D.Y. Patil School of Law and St. Wilfred's College of Law, the decision might hinge on the contrasting information available about their placement scenarios. According to a Quora post, D.Y. Patil School of Law seems to have a relatively positive placement record, with approximately 80% of students finding placements. The reported salary packages range from an impressive 45 LPA to a more modest 3–4 LPA. On the other hand, in 2023, students from D.Y. Patil School of Law secured direct campus placements at notable companies such as Infosys, Mindcrest Inc, and Wiksate Solutions Private Limited, potentially challenging the negative claim about their placement cell.

This discrepancy in information might make your decision-making process more challenging. While one source suggests a lack of formal placement structure, the other hints at the presence of industry interactions that could open doors for employment.

In weighing your options, it's essential to consider the credibility of the sources and perhaps seek more recent and firsthand information from current students or alumni of both institutions. Your choice between D.Y. Patil School of Law and St. Wilfred's College of Law should align with your career goals and the kind of support you expect from the law school in terms of placements and professional development.
