B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2020

I am satisfied with college, but the infrastructure could be better.
Placements: I took admission in Elite College of Engineering for pursuing bachelor's in technology in the department of computer science and engineering. Our college is under West Bengal University of technology and affiliated to AICTE. Many students in our college did their internship in ISOEH. Top recruiting company in our department was Globsyn, and it is a Kolkata-based software company. The position that was offered to us in Globsyn was a digital consultant. Almost 40% of the students from our department were placed. The highest salary package offered to us was 1.6 LPA. Almost 70% of the students did their internship from ISOEH and Globsyn.
Infrastructure: There are many computer labs in our college with computers, proper software and hardware configuration for students. Computers are well-maintained, and students can learn and practice their coding without any problem. There is a very high-speed Wi-Fi in our college. The library in our college is quite big, and we can easily borrow books which we require for our semester. We can even get books of subjects which are not in our course curriculum. There are many books related to our department in the computer lab. There is no hostel facility in our college as most of the students are from nearby places, and students who are from distant places stay in PG.
Faculty: Teachers in our department were very helpful, and they used to guide us through every semester for better performance. We always used to get help and clear our doubts any time we wanted even during off-hours. They used to be quite friendly to us. The teacher-student bond in our college is very good. The course curriculum is not that helpful in getting a job as most of the subjects are pretty much outdated, and students have to study subjects outside their course curriculum in order to get good jobs.
Other: I have chosen computer science and engineering course because it was quite trending during my admission, and I thought getting a job in this course is quite easy. The infrastructure should be more sophisticated in our college. Our college organises inter-college sports tournaments every year. Extracurricular activities such as planting plants and Swach Bharat Abhiyaan is conducted in nearby areas of our college.

Elite college of engineering can make you or break you, it has something special.
Placements: About 40 percent of the students from computer Science were placed in this company called Globsyn 3rd life. Few received the opportunity to intern there first after a period of training, others were directly recruited by an interview conducted on college premises. The salary for interns were 9000 per month and for employees were 11000. The job role offered was research analyst. Besides Globsyn the students were sent on various other off-campus drives for top tier companies like IBM, TCS, Indusnet, Arodek etc. On an average, the salary packages were 3.8 Lacs CTC.
Infrastructure: The facilities are mostly up to the mark with only a few slip-ups here and there. There are no Wi-Fi, labs available and the library is quite small but it is better than it was before and is continuing to improve. The classrooms are very good extremely spacious and comfortable to be in. However, hostels are not available on college premises but messes and PGs abound in the surrounding area so that should not be a problem. The food in the canteen is acceptable. The college hosts inter and intra college sporting activities once a year in the winter. The college has a playground that is used for such activities. As for medical facilities. I would have to say it's not exactly state of the art but nobody would bleed to death unattended.
Faculty: The teachers were a mixed bag some were really great and helpful and also knowledgeable but some were None of those. Classes would, therefore, fluctuate from vigorous mental stimulation to morbid boredom. The course curriculum is made by the board and the college has hardly any say in it so let the following words not be a poor reflection of this institution. Having said that the curriculum is mostly irrelevant in regard to industry standards in the first two years. In the final two years, the relevance increases by about 2 percent. The curriculum neither teaches a new skill nor prepares them for what's important to get hired.
Other: I choose this course because I was good at coding and thought that this would teach me new things to monetize and further develop my abilities. I think job-specific topics should be included in the curriculum, essential skills such as developing apps or artificial intelligence should be also taught. I feel a lot of our curriculum is theory-based without any practical application therefore things that can influence us in daily lives should also be taught. The college holds various events throughout the year like tree plantation, community service, Science exhibitions and cultural events, it organizes a fest once a year. The campus is a bit in its infancy but I feel it has the potential for growth and I believe the future holds good things for elite, having said this the computer labs might be something to improve. The campus is well connected on all sides by bus trains and autos. From Sodepur station it takes one auto to reach the college.

It is an average and affordable private college.
Placements: Placements for ECE and CSE branches are not very good. An internship can be availed by anyone in any company, and the college will provide the required NOC. Most of the students got placed in Globsyn 3rd Life as a consultant with a salary of Rs. 15,000 per month. An internship is also offered by the same company.
Infrastructure: Computer labs are filled with bad machines, and most of them don't work. The air-conditioned facility is also damaged. The library is good, and it provides books for all subjects every semester, which has to be returned after the exams. We can also take other books. There is a canteen, which serves low-cost food for students. Table tennis kits are available for playing in free time.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very helpful. But there are a few numbers of teachers for the CSE department. Teachers do not conduct practical classes. They only focus on theory. They don't solve the previous year question papers in class. The CSE syllabus of MAKAUT is very outdated. It restricts the teachers to teach. Thus they can't teach things which are helpful in the industry.
Other: I have chosen this course because I like programming. But B.Tech CSE of MAKAUT course has a very outdated syllabus. I learned more coding when I was in class 10 in ICSE board. If one has to learn, then they have to learn on their own. The course has many useless subjects that one would never need in practical life or in a job, but those subjects are only needed in higher studies.

Our college has great facilities and a very good infrastructure.
Placements: Almost 30% of the students got placed with the highest salary package of 3.6 LPA to 1.4 LPA. About 20% of the students got internships in Globsyn and Indian School of Ethical Hacking. Mainly process associate and software developer roles are offered. The top recruiting companies of our course were Azure, Globsyn and others.
Infrastructure: In this course, there is a total of 5 labs, i.e., automata lab, software engineering lab, AI lab, ML lab and network lab. There are also 2 physics labs, one dark room, basic electrical lab, machine shop, 2 workshops, communication lab, microprocessor lab, basic electronics lab, basic chemistry lab and many more. All these are in great condition and regularly maintained by professionals. There is also a huge library with a huge study room, and there is also a digital library. Wi-Fi facility is available. Currently, there are no hostels, but messes are available near our college.
Faculty: Faculty members here are really qualified and quite helpful. They guide us not like a mentor but like a senior, and they are always kind and very much helpful. They never behave rudely or insults us, but they always remind us what mistakes we did. They also suggest us what should and shouldn't do in the future. Our college strictly follows the AICTE and MAKAUT course curriculum. This course curriculum is relevant to the industry.
Other: I have chosen computer science course because I want to build a career in the IT industry. Although the course curriculum is revised by MAKAUT, I wish that we should get more opportunities to grow for AI and ML. Technical fests are organised here every year, and everyone can participate in them. There is a great opportunity to get huge awards.

Elite Institute Of Engineering And Management.
Placements: The placements are good in the institute, but not more companies came to campus. The salary offered was as per the capability of the student. The companies like wipro, Amazon, and many other companies came, but not more students were getting jobs. The percentage of getting jobs are average.
Infrastructure: Elite Institute Of Engineering And Management has many facilities. If you are talking about Wi-Fi facility, it is available, but one person can use 20 mb of data daily. Jionet powers it. The labs are nice. Every type of labs is available. The classroom are nice, and benches are good, but no A/C facility for each classroom. The medical facilities are there. In the sports, everything is there is there like a football ground, swimming pool, and a gym.
Faculty: The teacher's are well qualified. They are very helpful. They even teach after the period, when they are free. They even call the week student's or who were not attended the class of previous chapter's. The teaching methods are nice. They write on board with talk and explain it very well.
Other: The events and fest are also organised in the college. The campus crowd is huge. When events happen in the college, then the crowd will be even more.
