B.E./B.Tech at GBPIET Worth the Investment?

Based on reviews from students and alumni, here's a summary of the pros and cons:

Pros:

* Good infrastructure: The college has decent infrastructure, with well-maintained classrooms, laboratories, and hostel facilities.
* Supportive teachers: Many students praise their teachers' approachability and willingness to help with academic and personal issues.
* Decent placements: While not exceptional, the college has a reasonable placement record, especially in the mechanical and electrical streams.
* Scholarship opportunities: The college offers various scholarships to deserving students.
* Campus life: The college hosts regular cultural and sporting events, providing a vibrant atmosphere for students.

Cons:

* Average placements in certain streams: Placements in certain streams, like computer science, may not be as strong as expected.
* Limited internship opportunities: Off-campus internships might be a better option due to limited opportunities within the college.
* Mess food quality issues: Some students report inconsistent food quality in the mess, while others mention that canteens offer better options.
* Older hostel infrastructure: The hostel buildings could benefit from renovation, leading to some comfort issues.

Conclusion:

While GBPIET has its strengths, particularly in infrastructure and teacher support, it's essential to weigh these advantages against the potential drawbacks. My college experience at this college till now.
Placements: Less than 50 percent of students were placed. The highest package was around 12 Lacs. Very few students got internships, as not many students get internships from the college. We have to try on our own to get the internships we want at the college.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility is available at some places in the department. No water facilities are available in the department. There is no canteen in the hostel, and the quality of food is also not good. Sometimes it is okay, but most of the time, the quality is not good.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, and sometimes they are qualified and knowledgeable. The curriculum is relevant and makes the students industry-ready. The semester exams are very hard, and it is very hard for students to get good grades in the semester exams of the college.
Other: Chose this course due to the need in the market.

Best spot to see and feel the serenity of nature.
Placements: 30% of students got their placement among them only 20% go for their jobs in respected companies because the average package of placement is 3.5 Lacs per annum after lockdown or after the pandemic time placement from this college gets reduced but after time passed it will get better.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our course and hostel is good. It is the best college in terms of infrastructure because the location is amazing for content creators. All facilities are provided in the hostel, and some hostels have their own canteens. Wi-Fi facility is also available in every hostel.
Faculty: Faculty are well-reputed passouts from NIT? S and IIITs? Some are from foreign passout exams. Exams will be conducted on time, and the examination cell is well-reputed. The exam curriculum is also good because they provide every piece of information related to the exam on time.

Stunning view site. Good quality of air.
Placements: Our college placement ratio is not good because our college is in the hills, so fewer companies visit. Only 50 percent of students are placed. Our college's average package is 2 to 3 LPA. BELL, L&T, etc., are the companies that visit our campus. Most students do off-campus placements.
Infrastructure: Due to the hilly area, there is always a network issue. There is a different department allocated to each branch, where all necessary facilities are provided to students, which helps them use the knowledge practically. Our hostels are well-equipped with all essential items. Wi-Fi connection is provided in our hostel, and there are many more facilities provided to the students. In each room, there is a bed, table, almirah, tube light, and bulb.
Faculty: Our teachers are well-qualified, and they have done different courses in their respective fields. Most of the teachers are Ph.D. qualified, and subject-based teachers are also present in our college. The teaching quality of our teachers is good. Yes, the semester exams are a little tough here.
Other: I chose this course because I prepared for JEE, and on the basis of my JEE rank, I got into this college.

Review about my college.
Placements: About 50 to 55% of students are placed per year. In 2022, a student got placed in Amazon with a 97 LPA package from the ECE branch whereas in the same year, from the CSE branch, a student got placed in Microsoft with a 47 LPA package. The average package of our college is 4 LPA. The most visited companies here are L&T, TCS, BEL (PSU), Wipro, and other companies, etc.
Infrastructure: Facilities are good according to the college. Every classroom has a smartboard enriched with speed Wi-Fi. Some labs have a budget of more than 1 crore whereas some labs have bad infrastructure. Every classroom has a good bench for the students with a good number of seats. For every window, there are curtains to block the sunlight. Hostels are good for every student but one problem is, in some hostels, the water supply is not for 24 hours. In a room, there is sharing of three people whereas in the final year, each student gets a single room for themselves. Mess food quality is good, mostly. Sometimes in winter, problems occur in the cleanliness of the mess. The college has its own central canteen where students get a hill after every class where every type of food is available. Medical facilities are very bad here. The college health center has no good medicine for instant treatment and the nearest hospital is 13 km far from the college. But the college has its own ambulance so that students can go to the hospital. The sports community is good, every time they organize new tournaments in each sport between students and have a winning amount so every student can participate.
Faculty: So this college is a 3-tier state government college, mostly teachers are qualified and got their Ph.D. from any IIT and some got their degree from Germany. Faculty members are helpful for the students, they always force students to do better things. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant for the students but it is very well known that no engineering college made any student industry-ready. Everyone has to work on this kind of skills for their bright future. Semester exams are not too difficult because the paper is made by the UTU so it depends on them what level they set the paper. Mostly it is not too difficult, each student has the capability to pass it. The passing percentage of students is 80%.
Other: In this college, I got admitted into the ECE branch from my JEE Main rank AIR 92k whereas in other good colleges I was getting mechanical or other branches. The benefits of my course are that in upcoming years, India is going to have a boom in the semiconductor industry and electronics is based on the semiconductor so it will help me for my future. Every lab should have good infrastructure, not some. Each has to be at least above average. There are two annual fests that happen in college, one is Josh which is a sports fest whereas one is Goonj which is a cultural fest in which every branch participates. Students fill NSP here every year and the SC-ST students always get the scholarship and some extracurricular activities always happen here like Spandhan, Tech Fest, or Footloose dance fest.

4 years vacation in an isolated place.
Placements: The placement in our college is very average. It does not provide any good package. The students are mostly dull. Only a few students grab a good placement or either crack GATE exams. The highest package was 12 LPA as of the previous year. And the minimum was 3 LPA. Getting an internship is very rare in our course.
Infrastructure: The hostels are decent but the facilities are not up to the mark. Like in our hostel, water supply is good but Wi-Fi is not available which leads to havoc. The mess food is usually bad but sometimes it is eatable. We have only one big ground on the campus. Medical facilities are just first aid, the rest of the medication is done in Pauri.
Faculty: The teaching quality varies completely from faculty to faculty. The teachers are qualified, mostly from IITs or else from our own college. Some faculty members are quite helpful but some seem to be cracked. My course doesn't make an individual industry-ready. Semester exams are easy but checking is hard.

Hi Rhitik, First of all the name GD Pant college of engineering is wrong, I guess you are talking about GB pant engineering college (GBPEC), Pauri Garhwal. If this is the college you are taking about then definitely BIT, Patna is a much better option.
