Fascinating campus, the 2nd oldest engineering college in India and is now still growing.

Placements: The placement for 2018 graduate batch is quite good, and starting from Aug-17, it is still going on. Almost all the students from IT, CS are already placed. Core companies are also coming. Comparably, the placement of electronics and aerospace branch is somewhat low this year in their core companies, but placement has boosted up a lot than the previous batch.

I studied in the second oldest colleges in India after IIT Roorkee.

Placements: IIEST Shibpur has a high percentage of placement in civil engineering and core branches as compared to other top IITs. Last year, 2 students got placed in Google, and many students get an internship in Microsoft. Some students, after they crack GATE get placed in IOCL. Mining engineering also has the highest placement stats.

Overall, it is a good college to study.

Placements: Placement for core branches is not good as compared to IT and computer science. The professors are good. The civil companies come here for placements every year. Many students got good placement. Non-civil companies also come here like coaching institutes, to take good students. If you have knowledge of civil, the placement doesn't matter. You will have opportunities for government job also.

Really good infrastructure and facilities.

Placements: It has better placement in all departments, especially in CST and mining department. Several companies come to give placements to many students. The college's support to the students is awesome. Professors will be very helpful during campus selection time.

Overall, a good place to learn.

Placements: The placements are very good. You will get offers in core companies. The average package is 5.5 LPA. Software companies are a bonus. Also, analyst companies like Deloitte, Mu Sigma, PWC also visit. Also, there are many opportunities for an internship also in 3rd year, but it should not be taken for granted. If you study well, campusing is for sure.

Satisfied with the college, but placement statistics must improve.

Placements: Placement season is still going on. Around 70% of the students are placed. The highest placement is bagged by a CST student directly for around 29 LPA (India), and also another CST student in Bloomberg (USA). The lowest package offered by the mass recruiting companies was 3.5 LPA. Regarding internship, almost 80% students do some project/internship in the summer vacation.

Experience the best faculty and placements at IIEST, Shibpur and make your career the brightest.

Placements: Placements are of utmost importance when it comes to our college, and without any doubt, I can say that hundred percent placements take place each year in every branch or department in our college. The average salary to mining engineering students is 9-10 LPA. LandT, Vedanta, Coal India, PWC, Joy Mining and many other famous companies come to recruit.

Good placements in 2014. Really good infrastructure and other facilities.

Placements: The placements were average. 90% of the students were placed. The software engineer, consultant-type roles were offered. In general, very few students got the internship from college. The stipend was 10k around. Many companies like Deloitte, PWC, Ericsson, Amazon, Mu Sigma, and Polaris networks come to the campus.

Overall a good experience, good academic life, and bright future awaits when you pass out.

Placements: The placement scenario of our college was not that good at our time. One of the main reasons was the recession, and that affected a lot of our time. Though at the end of the placement season, almost all the students had at least one job in their hands. The professors, who were the placement in-charge, was a bit reluctant about his job. His lack of enthusiasm might be a reason behind our poor placement. Only a few good companies came to the college.

I am satisfied with the university but some kind of mentoring is required.

Placements: Placement was average. Almost 90% students were placed but the range of salary was average. Many IT companies came and mostly software engineer role was offered. Students did an internship but those were not paid. Companies like CTS, Infosys, Accenture, PWC, Deloitte, Acclaris, SPCL, Lexmark came.

The Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur.

Placements: The college is very advanced when compared to other state universities. Now, as it became a national institute, the expectation is higher than before. Many reputed companies come for the placements and also do the mass recruitment. Many students also opt for the higher studies.

This is a place where you groom yourself for the entire journey ahead.

Placements: The placements were very good for both the batches. Having few PPOs from the companies like Microsoft, Tata Steel, etc. The placements dived the companies like Deloitte, HSBC and EXL to the mass recruiters like CTS and IBM. The salary ranged from Rs. 3 LPA to as high as Rs. 12 LPA. The process was seamless with all the processes coordinating extremely well. The companies visited the campus for hiring both from Kolkata as well as the cross locations.

I am satisfied with the faculty and the university environment in 2014.

Placements: In my year, the placements were good. Around, 80% of the students were placed. The companies visiting were better compared to the previous years. The average salary offered was around 5 lacs per annum, and the highest was around 10 lacs per annum. The internships offered were not too many. The big firms like Microsoft or Google hardly pay a visit to the university, probably because of its location, which is not much central.

I would rate 5 for the mining engineering department.

Placements: The placement usually gets, but since Coal India put stay on the On-Campus placement, so they have stopped. The companies like Vedanta Resources, L&T Mining, Coal India, Hindustan Zinc, Hindustan Copper Ltd. are the recruiters. We got summer training from the college itself and got chances in the companies like Coal India, SCCL, NLC, NMDC, NALCO, Hindustan Zinc, Copper and much more. The average package is 9 LPA.

It is the 2nd oldest engineering college of India. It is actually a research based college.

Placements: The placements of the college are not good. But, it will be improved in the next two to three years. Due to the lack of independent body for placement cell, placement is not up to the mark. The placement scenario is regularly changing, and it will be improved. The highest package offered was 46 LPA. The average package offered was 6 LPA.

Placements: Core companies are very less. In my batch L&T, Tata Steel, M N Dastur, Electosteel, such companies visited. Many core companies visited and 30% got placed in core. From the rest, some got placed in analytics and some in mass. Overall, a good placement record in the civil engineering department.
